Lyca Productions Confirms Release Date of Kamal Haasan and Director Shankar's 'Indian 3'

Chennai, July 12 - One of the most anticipated movies of the year, Indian 2 starring Kamal Haasan finally hits the big screen on July 12 after going through many delays and postponements due to unavoidable circumstances over the last few years. ## Directed by Shankar, Indian 2 is the sequel to his 1996 vigilante action thriller with Haasan, and as known to everyone, the sequel has been split into two parts. While Indian 2 has been released, Lyca Productions has also confirmed the release date of Indian 3.## As per the industry insiders, the production house has confirmed to the exhibitors that Indian 3 will be released in January 2025. AK62: Ajith Kumar's Next Film To Be Announced On His Birthday

Chennai, April 30 - Ajith Kumar, fondly called Thala Ajith by his fans, is one of the biggest crowd-pullers in Tamil cinema. The superstar carries a passionate fan-following who waits patiently for his movies to arrive in cinemas. ## The year started with Ajith Kumar releasing his heist action thriller "Thunivu", which, despite the clash with Thalapathy Vijay's "Varisu", grossed around 200 crores worldwide and turned into a superhit venture. Now, the actor is moving to his next AK62, and the official announcement regarding the same is expected to be made in a day or two. ## It is well known that AK62 will be produced by Lyca Productions and as per reliable Tamil industry sources, the official announcement with the title of the movie is expected to be made today (April 30), on the evening of Ajith Kumar's birthday which falls on May 1st. The announcement might arrive in the evening or late at night. ## The confirmation regarding the director is yet to be made but there is a strong buzz on the film to be helmed by Magizh Thirumeni with Arun Vijay as one of the co-actors alongside Ajith Kumar. The movie is expected to go on floors by June this year. ## Meanwhile, according to Pinkvilla, the renowned cinematographer Nirav Shah is filming a documentary on Ajith Kumar's world tour. Nirav is said to be on tour with Ajith Kumar, who is a passionate bike rider and prefers to tour and explore places on a bike ride. The actor started his tour in India in September last year and completed the first leg of his world tour by riding through all states of India. Ram Setu Digital Premiere Date Announced On Amazon Prime Video

Mumbai, December 21 - Akshay Kumar-fronted action-adventure film Ram Setu was released on October 25 amid much anticipation. The Abhishek Sharma-directed movie was expected to be one of the biggest grossers of the year, but it couldn't live up to the expectation and underperformed at the box office with a worldwide collection of around 97 crores gross. ## "Ram Setu" was co-produced by Amazon Prime, marking its production debut in India. On Wednesday, Akshay Kumar took to social media and announced the digital premiere of the movie. Being a non-believer, Dr. Aryan doubts Ram Setu is a man-made structure, however, upon conducting scientific research, he finds that the structure is actually human-made, implying that Rama was a historical figure after all. ## The movie received mixed to positive responses from audiences. Diwali 2022 Sees Underwhelming Result At The Bollywood Box Office

Mumbai, November 3 - The festival of light, Diwali is the biggest occasion for the Hindi film industry and it has always brought joy to the fraternity at the box office. This year, Bollywood has two big films in the form of Ram Setu, and Thank God and both were big enough to bring huge smiles to the faces of the film fraternity. ## Despite the hopes, the Bollywood industry was concerned with the way how things went throughout the year, especially on Holi and Eid festivals and their fear came alive with the underwhelming response to both "Ram Setu" and "Thank God". Despite the mixed to positive talks, both films didn't meet the high expectation. ## "Ram Setu", which stars Akshay Kumar in the lead role, was a perfect outing for Diwali 2022 because of its action-adventure genre revolving around Ram Setu, and so was Ajay Devgn and Sidharth Malhotra's "Thank God". Both the movies failed to take big openings which made things difficult for them going forward and it looks like both will be wrapped up around 110 crores net, which is underwhelming.## Earlier, Eid 2022 too had lukewarm results with "Heropanti 2" and "Runway 34" as both films could only fetch approx. 60 crores net box office collection while Holi had Akshay Kumar's "Bachchhan Paandey", minting only approx. 51 crores net. On Raksha Bandhan in August, Akshay's "Raksha Bandhan", and Aamir Khan's "Laal Singh Chaddha" were two big releases but could only manage approx. 110 crores net collection. ## The Diwali 2021 saw the release of Akshay Kumar's "Sooryavanshi", which was the first major Bollywood release in nearly 18 months. Ram Setu First Monday Early Estimates

Mumbai, October 31 - Ram Setu had an average first extended weekend at the box office with around 56cr net box office collections. There was a chance of hitting the 60cr mark but the film remained flat on Sunday due to a cricket match between India and South Africa in peak collections time.## That was one reason but the biggest reason for a limited Saturday growth and flat Sunday was due to average to poor feedback from the audiences as they did not like the film. The extended weekend collections of 56cr came due to the Diwali holidays and the star power of Akshay Kumar and not due to the film.## The first Monday's early estimates suggest 2.70 crores net which is a poor number once again and the film will continue to fall from here on. The first Monday collections will take the entire box office collections of Ram Setu to around the 58.70cr net box office mark. The lifetime business of the film is set to be around 80-85cr net unless the film drops heavily. The 80-85cr lifetime business will still be considered to be a flop business of Ram Setu as it was a huge film in terms of cost.## Stay tuned...

Ram Setu First Sunday Early Estimates

Mumbai, October 30 - Ram Setu which underperformed on the first weekend had shown its first growth yesterday when it grew around 20% and it was expected that the film will show further growth today but that did not happen. Of course, the collections are better than yesterday but the trajectory of the film is not as good as it should have been. ## The film scored an estimated 7.75 crores net on its first Sunday, jumping approx. 5%. The main reasons for limited growth are a cricket world cup match of India and that too in peak collection time. The other reason for limited growth is less appreciation of the film barring a few circuits where it had done decent business.## The first Sunday collections will take the entire box office collections of Ram Setu to around the 56.50cr mark. There is a shortfall of 4cr which would have made the extended weekend of Ram Setu on a decent note. The Monday hold will give the idea of the lifetime business of the film and whether it will be able to cross 100cr net collections or not. Ram Setu will be the fourth consecutive nonperformer of Akshay Kumar along with Bachchan Pandey, Samrat Prithviraj, and Raksha Bandhan who was going through his best phase as an actor with 4 superhit films before the pandemic struck.## Stay tuned...

Ram Setu Fifth Day/First Saturday Early Estimates

Mumbai, October 29 - Ram Setu which had underwhelming first four days is heading towards a decent day at the box office on its first Saturday of its box office run. The film has witnessed its first growth of the run as well. ## The early estimate collections suggest approx. 7.10 crores net which means the film has shown a growth of approx 20% which is good growth. Saturday is the best day for growth in multiplexes due to the next day being Sunday and as expected the film has put some decent collections in multiplexes. ## The first Saturday collections will take the entire collections of Ram Setu to around 48.75cr net box office collections. There is a huge Sunday holiday to come tomorrow and if the film gets some growth from Saturday then it will be a decent extended weekend for the film with approx 58-60cr net box office mark.## Sunday should record a double-digit mark as Sunday is a huge day for mass centers and Ram Setu is a film that is driven by mass centers. Ram Setu Fourth Day/First Friday Early Estimates

Mumbai, October 28 - Ram Setu, which recorded decent first three days at the box office with 35.40 crores net has shown another drop today at the box office. The film has witnessed a similar drop to yesterday with around a 20% drop depending on the final collections.## The early estimate collections suggest 7 crores net box office mark which will take the entire collections of Ram Setu to around 42.40cr net. The extended weekend collections are looking to be around the 60cr mark unless the film shows huge growth on Saturday and Sunday and goes towards the 65cr mark which is difficult due to less appreciation of the film.## The film did not perform at the expected level at least initially and the hope is that the film crosses the 100cr mark somehow for a decent result at the box office. The mass centers have recorded good collections in the first four days thanks to the popularity of Akshay Kumar in B and C-tier cities. Ram Setu Third Day/First Thursday Early Estimates

Mumbai, October 27 - Ram Setu had decent first two days at the box office. The movie witnesses a similar drop on its third day as compared to yesterday, which can be considered a decent hold.## The third-day early estimates suggest 7.75-8 crores net. Like yesterday, even today was a partial holiday in a few circuits and most of the circuits are back to normal. Despite that, the third-day number is not as good as it should have been.## Today's collections will take the entire collections of Ram Setu to around the 34.50cr mark depending on the final third-day collections. The overseas business of the film is poor but that is understandable as these type of films does not have takers overseas.## Ram Setu has performed on lower levels on the first three days but it is not a rejected film from any angle.
