Shah Rukh Khan's 'King' Shoot Begins; Release Date Revealed

Mumbai, May 21 - After months of preparations, the shoot of superstar Shah Rukh Khan-fronted action thriller King has commenced on May 21 in Mumbai. As per the reports, Suhana Khan and Abhay Verma have started shooting for the film in Mehboob Studio, and the rest of the cast will join them soon. ## Directed by Siddharth Anand, King is easily among the most anticipated Indian movies. The film boasts a massive ensemble cast, which also includes Rani Mukerji, Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Abhishek Bachchan, Arshad Warsi, and Jaideep Ahlawat, in prominent roles. ## According to the latest report by Peepingmoon.com, King Khan and director Siddharth Anand are looking to release the film on October 2, 2026, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti next year. Mumbai, September 20 - One of the most celebrated Bollywood films of the 21st century, Veer-Zaara starring Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta, and Rani Mukerji has entered the 100 crores gross club at the worldwide box office, thanks to its re-release run time and again.## The Yash Chopra's directorial superhit film was recently re-released this month and has crossed approximately 1.75+ crores in the first week. Earlier, the movie had an occasional limited re-release this year where it scored approximately 40 lakh gross collection. ## Apart from 2024, Veer-Zaara has had an occasional re-release from 2005-2023 during which it grossed 2.50 crores. Including the film's original run collection of approximately 97 crores gross globally, its total worldwide collection is now 101.75 crores approx, which includes 37 crores overseas gross.## Produced by Yash Raj Films, Veer-Zaara was originally released on November 12, 2024, on the occasion of Diwali and clashed with Akshay Kumar's Aitraaz. Mumbai, September 16 - As the re-release trend is picking up in Bollywood, the nostalgia factor is bringing the audience to the theatres to revisit some of the evergreen hits. Amid the success of a few re-releases, Yash Raj Film's Veer-Zaara returned to the big screen and scored well in the opening weekend. ## The 20-year-old epic romantic drama, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta, and Rani Mukerji, was re-released on September 13 on over 300 shows, which jumped to over 400 shows on Sunday after the positive response at the box office. ## The Yash Chopra's superhit directorial scored approximately 25 lakh gross collection on its opening day upon re-release. The movie witnessed an upward trend on the second day to score approximately 40 lakh gross, followed by another 45+ lakh on Sunday, for approximately 1.10+ crore gross (95 lakh net) opening weekend. ## Earlier in the year, Veer-Zaara had occasional re-releases on limited shows where it grossed approximately 40 lakh collection, and including the latest re-release, the movie has grossed around 1.50 crores this year (1.30 crores net). ## Veer-Zaara was a super hit at the box office in its original run with approximately 97 crores worldwide gross collection. After the re-release this year, the total collection is now around 98.50 crores. Mumbai, March 30 - After the super successful distribution in around 100 countries, Yash Raj Films is all set to release its mega-blockbuster Pathaan starring superstar Shah Rukh Khan, John Abraham, and Deepika Padukone in China, Japan, and Latin America. ## Pathaan, directed by Siddharth Anand, was released on January 25 this year and went on to cross approx. 1050 crores worldwide, becoming one of the biggest Indian blockbusters of all time. Now, YRF is planning for its wide release in China, which has emerged as a huge market for Hindi films over the years. ## YRF is releasing its social comedy-drama "Sui Dhaaga – Made In India" (2018) in China on March 31. The studio's "Hichki" (2018) starring Rani Mukerji was massively successful in China, grossing around $21 million. ## Apart from "Sui Dhaaga" and "Pathaan", YRF will also be releasing Rani Mukerji's "Mardaani 2" (2019) in China. Mumbai, March 23 - Director Anubhav Sinha's drama film Bheed seems to be going nowhere with its pre-sales and chances for its dull start at the box office looming large. ## Starring Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar, "Bheed" is set during the events of the 2020 COVID-19 lockdown in India. It tells the story of how several characters in the film deal with the covid-19 lockdown and migrate to a place they feel safe. ## The movie did hit by controversy, however, despite the desperate attempt, it failed to generate any sort of buzz which was clearly visible in the advance booking which finished below 10 lac gross for the opening day. ## Given the fact that there was hardly any awareness among the moviegoers and dull response in the pre-booking, "Bheed" was always going to struggle at the box office and that's what happened with it with the opening of around 30 lacs. Sinha's last directorial, "Anek" (2022) too bombed at the box office and the prospects are not looking promising for his upcoming film either. ## The lack of curiosity for "Bheed" is set to benefit Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor's "Tu Jhoothi Mein Makkaar" for another week before Ajay Devgn's "Bholaa" arrives on March 30.
