A Sequel To Tamil Crime Thriller 'Ratsasan' Confirmed

Chennai, July 7 - Actor Vishnu Vishal's 2018 Tamil crime thriller film Ratsasan, along with Gatta Kusthi, are getting a sequel. The actor dropped this big announcement at a recent promotional event for his upcoming film, Oho Enthan Baby, in which he plays an extended cameo role. ## Directed by Ram Kumar, Ratsasan is widely regarded as one of the finest psychological thrillers in Indian cinema. The film marked a turning point in Vishnu Vishal’s career and continues to enjoy a cult following. With fans eagerly awaiting a follow-up for years, the news of the sequel has sparked massive excitement among the fans. ## The actor revealed that Ratsasan 2 will once again be helmed by Ram Kumar and produced under his own banner, Vishnu Vishal Studioz. The film is expected to go on floors next year, after the completion of Gatta Kusthi 2, which will be the actor’s next project following his current lineup. ## This will mark Vishnu Vishal's fourth collaboration with director Ram Kumar, following Mundasupatti, Ratsasan, and their upcoming film Irandu Vaanam, which recently wrapped filming. It's Raining Remakes In Bollywood - Not One Or Two But Bollywood Gears Up For More Than 20 Remakes In Next Two-Three Years

Mumbai, July 5, 2021: Bollywood's love affair with remakes is not hidden from audiences. The largest film industry in the country, Bollywood has mastered adapting films from different languages - be it regional or international, and also able to give them a Bollywood touch to lure the Hindi audiences. ## In the last one and a half-decade, Bollywood stars have done films like Ghajini, Gabbar Is Back, Force, Singham, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, Simmba, Son of Sardaar, Wanted, Rowdy Rathore, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, Kabir Singh, and Baaghi, which all are remakes of Tamil and Telugu films but proved to be some of the highest grosser of its respective release years. ## Even though the Hindi filmmakers have often been criticized for the lack of fresh ideas, they continued to acquire the Hindi remakes of other languages. And it looks like they have no plan to stop adapting good films into Hindi anytime soon, even though the audience likly to invest in fresh content as the covid-19 pandemic might have made them more opinionated than before. ## Well, opinion aside, Bollywood filmmakers still believe that the Hindi audience's interest in the remake hasn't waned yet and they will watch whenever they get a chance. It is a remake of the 2019 Telugu movie of the same name starring Nani in the lead role. Ajay Devgn is also doing the Hindi version of the 2019 Tamil action thriller film, Kaithi. Ajay in association with Dil Raju also acquired the remake rights of the 2021 Telugu hit, Naandhi. ## Recently, it was revealed that Akshay Kumar's next film with Bell Bottom makers is the remake of the 2018 Tamil psychological crime thriller film, Ratsasan. Last year, John Abraham had bought the rights to the 2020 Malayalam thriller film Ayyappanum Koshiyum, in which he will also be starring alongside Abhishek Bachchan. ## Acclaimed filmmaker, S Shankar announced that he will be remaking his own 2005 Tamil film, Anniyan in Hindi with Ranveer Singh playing the lead role. The film will mark Shankar's return to Hindi films twenty years after his only Hindi directorial, Nayak (2001) that starred Anil Kapoor in the lead. Kabir Singh producer Murad Khetani of Cine1 Studios along with Endemol Shine India, and 7 Screen Studio also bought the remake rights of the 2021's biggest hit Tamil film, Master, starring Thalapathy Vijay and Vijay Sethupathy. Salman Khan is said to be starring the Hindi remake. ## There are some reports claiming that Salman Khan has bought the Hindi remake rights of Ravi Teja's upcoming film, Khiladi. Boney Kapoor is remaking the 2021 Malayalam political thriller, One along with 'Helen' with his daughter Janhavi Kapoor in the lead, followed by the 2019 Tamil film 'Comali' with his son Arjun Kapoor. ## The time and cinema viewing might have changed for others, it is still hasn't changed much for Hindi filmmakers when it comes to remakes. Akshay Kumar's Next With Bell Bottom Makers Is The Remake Of Tamil Psychological Crime Thriller, Ratsasan?

Mumbai, June 29, 2021: Recently, it was reported that Akshay Kumar will be doing one more film with the makers of his upcoming spy thriller film, Bell Bottom (scheduled to release on July 27). It was said that producer Vashu Bhagnani narrated the script to Akshay during the shoot of Bell Bottom and was agreed to star in it. ## Now, according to Peepingmoon, the reports were indeed true and the movie is the official remake of the 2018 Tamil psychological crime thriller film, Ratsasan. The report said that Akshay will be stepping into the shoes of Vishnu Vishal in the critically-acclaimed film. Rakul Preet Singh has reportadly been cast opposite Akshay to play the female lead. ## It will be directed by Ranjit M Tewari, who also helmed Bell Bottom while Vashu Bhagnani of Pooja Entertainment will be producing it. The film is currently in the pre-production stage and will go on the floors in August in London following the bio-bubble protocols. The film will be finished in quick succession as the cast and crew will fly to London on August 5, for a start-to-finish schedule. ## Ratsasan is about an aspiring filmmaker who becomes a police officer after his father's death and investigates the murder of school girls.
