Box Office: 'Koi Mil Gaya' (Re-Release) First Week Collection

Mumbai, August 12 - On the occasion of the 20th anniversary, filmmaker Rakesh Roshan and superstar Hrithik Roshan re-released their superhit science fiction movie "Koi Mil Gaya" (2003) on August 4 in association with PVR Cinemas. ## The movie had limited re-release across PVR properties in around 30 cities as it was more like celebrating this cult classic rather than aiming for big bucks with a proper second-frame release. In the opening weekend, "Koi Mil Gaya" scored approx. 19 lakh gross in around 225 shows. ## After the opening weekend, the movie was left with a limited chance to score during weekdays as it grossed approx. 10 lakh from Monday to Thursday (August 7 - August 10). It emerged as a box office success and went on to earn a cult status over the years. ## In 2023, "Koi... Mil Gaya" completes 20 years of its release, and to celebrate the occasion, the makers teamed up with PVR Inox to re-release the film on August 4 across 30 cities. The magic of the movie remained intact as it recorded housefull shows at some centers. ## The limited re-release of "Koi Mil Gaya" scored approx. 20 lakh gross in its opening weekend with a total of approx. 225 shows. Mumbai, July 15 - Renowned filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj's son Aasmaan Bhardwaj makes his directorial debut with Arjun Kapoor's black comedy thriller, Kuttey. NCW Objects To Trailer Of Mahesh Manjrekar's Upcoming Film

New Delhi, Jan 12 (IANS) The National Commission for Women (NCW) has expressed displeasure over the trailer of filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar's Marathi film "Nay Varan Bhat Loncha Kon Koncha".## The commission has received a complaint from an organization in Maharashtra over the trailer of the film. NCW chief Rekha Sharma has written a letter to the Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, to censor the bold and sexually explicit scenes in the film's trailer.## A copy of the letter has also been sent to the chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), Prasoon Joshi. A complaint was made to the NCW on behalf of the Bharatiya Stree Shakti regarding the trailer of this film.## In the complaint, it was alleged that the trailer of the film, which was released on January 10, 2022, showed objectionable scenes and obscenity related to women.## Rekha Sharma has urged the Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to intervene immediately and censor the explicit sex scenes in the trailer and the film.## The NCW has also expressed displeasure over the fact that the trailer is being circulated to the viewers on social media platforms like Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, etc., without any age restrictions.## Also, the NCW has urged the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the CBFC to provide updates on the action being taken on the issue.## Stay tuned...

NCW Seeks Action Against Actor Siddharth For 'Lewd' Tweet Against Saina Nehwal

Chennai, Jan 10 (IANS) Condemning a "lewd and inappropriate remark" by actor Siddharth against badminton player Saina Nehwal on Twitter, the National Commission for Women (NCW) on Monday sought "prompt and strict action" against the actor for using indecent language for women on social media.## In a statement issued by the NCW, which was shared by its chairperson Rekha Sharma on Twitter, the commission said that it had come across a post of actor Siddhart using lewd comments on Twitter on the post of Saina Nehwal.## The NCW termed Sidharth's tweet as being "misogynist and outrageous to the modesty of a woman amounting to disrespect and insult to the dignity of women on the social media platforms. (sic)"## Stating that it had taken suo moto cognizance of the issue, the commission said that its chairperson Rekha Sharma had written to the Director-General of Police, Maharashtra to investigate the matter and register an FIR under the relevant provisions of law.## Rekha Sharma has also written to Twitter India's Resident Grievance Officer, asking the social media platform to immediately block Siddharth's account and take appropriate action against him for posting offensive remarks on Nehwal's post, thereby "outraging her modesty and insulting her right to live with dignity".## Stay tuned...
