Mumbai, March 20 (IANS) The much-anticipated release of actor Ranveer Singh's upcoming film "83" has been put on hold due to the outbreak of coronavirus in the country. ## The film was earlier slated to hit the screens on April 10. ## Ranveer, who will be seen playing the role of former cricket captain Kapil Dev in the film, took to Instagram, where he shared a post. ## It read: "In the wake of the risks posed by the recent outbreak of COVID-19 and the growing health concerns, the release of 83 has been put on hold. We will take a decision regarding the next course of action once the conditions return to normal. ## "We urge fans to take all the necessary precautions and take care of their loved ones. '83' is a film about fighting the odds and we hope we will bounce back from this soon." ## Ranveer then captioned the post: "'83' is not just our film but the nation's film. Mumbai, March 17 (IANS) Just as many other big budget movies are getting postponed due to COVID-19 pandemic, the makers of the Rana Daggubati-starrer "Haathi Mere Saathi" have also decided to do the same. The multilingual film, which was slated to hit theatres on April 2, has been rescheduled and a fresh release date will be announced later. ## Trade analyst Ramesh Bala tweeted on Monday: "Because health and safety comes above everything! Hope to see you guys soon at the theatres. Till then, stay safe! #Aranya #Kaadan #HaathiMereSaathi. April 2nd release postponed.." ## He also shared a notification issued by the production house Eros International, which reads: "Eros International has always kept our audience's interest at forefront as a core value. Healthy and happy audiences have always kept us motivated to produce and distribute unique stories that have never been told before. In light of recent developments of COVID-19, our recent announcement regarding the scheduled release of Haathi Mere Saathi, Aranya and Kaadan stands changed." ## The makers further announced that they are monitoring the situation and will be back with a new release date. ## Directed by Prabu Solomon, the film releases as "Hathi Mere Saathi" in Hindi, and simultaneously as "Aranya" in Telugu and "Kaadan" in Tamil. Mumbai, March 14 (IANS) The release date of the upcoming Parineeti Chopra-Arjun Kapoor crime drama "Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar" has been pushed again, this time owing to the coronavirus pandemic. ## The Dibakar Banerjee directorial was slated to open on March 20. On Saturday, less than a week away from release date, the film's producer Yash Raj Films (YRF) tweeted to inform: "Given the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in the country, we have decided to postpone the release of Dibakar Banerjee's Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar. The health and safety of everyone is of utmost importance at this time." ## The post, put up on the banner;s official handle @yrf, was retweeted by the film's lead actors, Arjun and Parineeti. ## "Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar" has been jinxed by delay in schedule, Unconfirmed reports state that the film was originally scheduled to open over a year ago. It was finally readied for release next Friday, but it seems like Parineeti and Arjun will have to wait a while longer for their film to see light of day, once the COVID 19 storm passes away. ## The two actors worked together in the 2012 release "Ishaqzaade", which marked Arjun's Bollywood debut. The film was critically acclaimed. They reunited in the 2018 release, "Namaste England", which performed below expectations. ## Parineeti and Arjun's third outing together, "Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar", marks Dibakar Banerjee's return as director to the Bollywood screen for the first time since the 2015 release, "Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!"
