He asserts that after announcing his participation in the Royal Rumble, he knew he had a target on his back, especially given the clues laid by Shinsuke Nakamura. Cody declares his readiness for a confrontation and challenges Nakamura to come out and fight now.##
Cody expresses his anticipation that Nakamura won't show up, and as he speaks, the lights suddenly go out. Cody appears on the TitanTron, stating that last week, he made his statement, and tonight, he will open Nakamura's eyes. He claims they've taken a similar path, climbing the mountain, winning the Royal Rumble, only to slip and fall into a bottomless pit. Cody suggests that Nakamura has awakened a devil in his mind, inspiring and unburdening him.
