CBI Files Closure Report In Actor Sushant Singh Rajput's Death Case

Mumbai, March 23 - The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has concluded its investigation and has filed the closure report into the mysterious death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, according to PTI. The report was submitted to a special court in Mumbai, which will now decide whether to accept it or order further investigation. ## Sushant Singh Rajput was found hanging in his apartment in Bandra, Mumbai, on June 14, 2020, at the age of 34. The CBI has determined that the actor's death was a case of suicide, with no evidence of foul play or criminal conspiracy. The CBI took over the case in August 2020 from the Bihar Police after the Supreme Court ordered it to conduct a thorough probe since there were conflicting reports of the Patna and Mumbai Police.## Subsequently, Sushant's father KK Singh lodged an FIR with the Patna Police in Bihar accusing actor Rhea Chakraborty and others of abetting his son's suicide. A counter-complaint by Chakraborty against Rajput's family was also investigated. The closure report addresses both cases, finding no substantiation for the allegations made by either party. Forensic experts from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) supported the CBI's conclusion.## The investigation involved recording statements from Chakraborty and others close to Rajput, as well as examining medical and forensic evidence, including a laptop, camera, and mobile phones. Despite extensive scrutiny, no evidence emerged to suggest anyone drove Rajput to suicide or that his death involved foul play. The report effectively clears Rhea Chakraborty, her family, and others named in the initial FIRs, ending a high-profile case that sparked widespread speculation and media attention.## The Mumbai Police had initially treated the death as a suicide, finding no signs of forced entry or a suicide note. However, the case gained significant traction after Rajput's family pursued legal action, leading to CBI involvement. While the closure report marks the agency's final stance, Rajput's family retains the option to file a protest petition if they disagree with the findings. Aryan Khan, Along With Two Others Sent To NCB Custody Till October 7 In Connection With Drugs Raid

Mumbai, October 5 - Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan's son, Aryan Khan along with Arbaaz Merchantt and Munmun Dhamecha have been sent to the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) custody till 7 October in connection with the alleged seizure of drugs onboard a Mumbai luxury cruise on Saturday. ## Aryan Khan and other accused were produced before a Mumbai court on Monday where the court extended the remand custody of the three till 7 October, stating that the investigation is of "prime importance" in this case. Advocate Satish Maneshinde represents Aryan Khan while Additional Solicitor General Anil Singh represents the NCB. It is NCB sought custody till 11 October.## During the hearing in the court, NCB alleged that there were 'links' found in Aryan Khan's WhatsApp chats that point to an existence of an 'international racket', according to the quint from the report by Live Law. ASG Anil Singh told that there are 8 accused related to the ship and also told the Court that the NCB had procured a commercial quantity of drugs when the ninth accused, a supplier from Mumbai's Juhu, was arrested.## Mr. Singh also alleged that Aryan was discussing the modes of payment and code names were used. He further told the Court that all offenses under the NDPS Act are non-bailable citing previous Bombay High Court judgments, including Rhea Chakraborty's bail order. He sought remand custody till October 11 to track the financing and to unearth the nexus. ## Meanwhile, Aryan Khan claimed that he did not pay anything for the party and went there with his friend on the invitation from the organizers, as per a statement read by Khan's Lawyer Satish Maneshinde. He also claimed that nothing was found on him after his bag was searched by the NCB. ## Maneshinde recalled a judgment to show that commercial quantity found in one accused can't be used to incriminate another. A Supreme Court ruling was also referred to argue that WhatsApp chats cannot be used to incriminate an accused. Bombay High Court Grants Bail To Rhea Chakraborty After A Month Of Arrest

Actress Rhea Chakraborty who was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau in a drug case linked to the Sushant Singh Rajput death case has been granted bail by the Bombay High Court. Earlier, a special court had yesterday extended Rhea and her brother Showik's judicial custody till October 20. ## Rhea Chakraborty was arrested on September 8 by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on charges of organizing drugs for her boyfriend, actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who was found dead in his Mumbai apartment on June 14.## The actress was accused of being "an active member of a drugs syndicate" and financing drugs bought for Sushant Singh Rajput.## In her bail petition, according to NDTV, Rhea Chakraborty alleged that Sushant Singh Rajput "took advantage of those closest to him to sustain his drug habit" and that she and her brother are sole targets of a witch-hunt.## She said he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and his family abandoned him at the peak of his depression. Sushant's Death Is A Case Of Suicide, Murder Completely Ruled Out, Confirms AIIMS Panel Chief

Putting a brake on the speculation, Dr. Sudhir Gupta, who led the AIIMS panel re-evaluating the Sushant Singh Rajput's post-mortem report, has confirmed that the actor's death was a case of suicide, and not murder. ## Ever since Sushant has died, many, including the late actor's family, had been urging the Central Bureau of Investigation to initiate a murder probe in the case. The actor was found dead in his Mumbai apartment on June 14. His family has accused Rhea Chakraborty of abetting his suicide and misappropriating his funds. Rhea is currently in jail, on drugs-related charges pertaining to the case.## According to India Today, the AIIMS doctors had submitted their findings to the CBI on September 29 in which they have completely ruled the murder angle and confirmed it a suicide. ## Sushant's death was originally ruled a suicide by the Mumbai Police before the case was taken over by the CBI. The CBI is likely to continue its probe into "abetment to suicide", Hindustan Times reported.## Vikas Singh, the lawyer representing Sushant's father, had previously claimed that an AIIMS doctor had told him that the ligature marks on Sushant's neck were consistent with strangulation. "AIIMS doctor told me that Sushant’s death was by strangulation", he had said in a press conference.## However, Dr. Gupta had refuted these claims. He told Times Now as stated by Hindustan Time, "No conclusion or conclusion opinion of homicide or suicide could be made by seeing ligature marks and scene of occurrence. While Shraddha Kapoor has been investigated by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Saturday in a drug case linked to Sushant Singh Rajput's death, her father, Shakti Kapoor has been cast as a narcotics officer in a film based on the life of Sushant. ## Kapoor senior essays a narcotics officer in the film "Nyaay: The Justice", which is incidentally backed by Sarla A. Saraogi, whose husband Ashok M. Saraogi represents Sushant's ex-manager Shruti Modi in the ongoing investigations. ## Informing about the same, the film's lead actor Zuber K.
