Payal Ghosh Clarifies Why She Named Huma Qureshi, Mahie Gill, Richa Chadha In MeToo Charge Against Anurag Kashyap

Actress Payal Ghosh has been facing a lot of criticism within the film industry for naming Huma Qureshi, Mahie Gill, and Richa Chadha in the MeToo allegations against the filmmaker Anurag Kashyap. However, the actress has now clarified that her intention was not to defame anyone. ## Speaking to IANS, Payal Ghosh explained that she said only what, Anurag Kashyap told her when he tried to sexually harass her in 2014. ## "I have said what Anurag said to me, whether it was a good thing or bad. I have also shared the good stuff like when he said he is a big fan of Amitji (Amitabh Bachchan), and now he talks to him for work. This is a very big achievement, and it inspires me as well", Payal told IANS.## "He also told me that he is in constant touch with filmmaker Karan Johar. I have also shared the good things he told me about other people. It is not like I am sharing only the negative", she added.## Late last week, Payal claimed that Anurag tried to molest her in 2014. She said that in order to convince her, Anurag said that "all the actresses he has worked with are just a call away". Now she said that the filmmaker does not respect women and only pretends himself as a flagbearer of women empowerment. ## "He acts like a flagbearer of women empowerment, women liberation, and feminism. What kind of a person he is when he says such things about his actress friends after meeting me for just two days? Does he respect women like this?", she added. ## "I didn't take their names. Unke saath mera lena dena nahi hai (I have nothing to do with them). I don't even know them, why would I take their name? I shared what Anurag said to me as it is, to let people know what kind of a person he is. That is the whole point of me talking about it", she explained.## While talking about the actresses she named, Payal claims she didn't take their names to defame them as she doesn't even know them.## "It is a possibility that Anurag lied to me to convince me, or he might be saying the truth. I don't know. I am not even saying that, I am just mentioning what he said to me, not that they did it or didn't do it. I don't have any personal grudge against them, I don't know them or have met them, so why would I say anything against them?", she stated.## Richa Chadda and Huma Qureshi have decided to take legal action against Payal Ghosh for defaming their reputation. On this, Payal said, "I will handle it because I haven't said anything against them. I again say that I have shared what Anurag told me".## Stay tuned...

COVID-19: Richa Chadha pitches in to provide meals for needy

Mumbai, April 17 (IANS) The nationwide lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic has been harsh on many, and actress Richa Chadha is doing her bit. She has taken to donating food to a Gurudwara here and has urged others to follow suit.## The actress came to know that the Gurudwara had been providing meals to the needy. Then she decided to offer help.## "It's the time when our humanity is being tested and I believe in the goodness in people. People have really come together. This pandemic is bringing out the worst and best in humans. While some are making racist, communal comments, civil society is going out of its way to care for animals, along with humans. It's not about the big gestures or who donated how many crores (of money). I am only talking about this, because I urge others to do the same, take baby steps," said Richa.## When she contacted the people at the Gurudwara, they said they will accept ration and not money.## "So I went with the number of groceries I could procure nearby, which was little, like 10-20 kgs. Now I have learned that they need as much as 250 kgs every single day, so I am figuring out a wholesale place that can get me food grains and pulses in that large quantity," she said.## She understands that many people can't afford to donate lots of money, but that shouldn't stop them from doing their bit.## "Even if you can support one person, or one family at this time, that's good. People may ask 'how does it make a difference? It's just one person'. But it makes a difference to that one person because that person is no longer hungry. We must be kind to each other in these times," she concluded.## Stay tuned...

Richa Chadha: Epidemic bringing out worse, best in people

New Delhi, April 16 (IANS) Actress Richa Chadha feels that the coronavirus pandemic is bringing out the best and worst in people, and she says that it's the time to come together and help.## "This epidemic is bringing out the worst in people and bringing out the best in people. You have people who are going out of their way to provide for animals and human beings, and then there are some people who are using this as an opportunity to treat the poor badly," Richa told IANS.## Richa then cited the example of the 3,000 stranded migrants from different parts of India who thronged at Bandra railway station on Tuesday demanding that they should be given transportation to return to their native places immediately.## The Mumbai Police, in an attempt to control such a large crowd, resorted to a mild lathi-charge when sections threatened to go out of control.## She said: "Now, these poor migrant laborers gathered in Bandra and Surat, and people are criticizing them that they could have led to community transmission. But the thing is these are people who are helpless and do not have other means to get home and to pay rent. This is the time to come together and help. I really hope people get a sense of this (epidemic) and make behavioral changes."## Stay tuned...

I am a privileged person, with access to tech, relative social media influence. What does the common man do at a time like this? Hamara ye haal to unka kya hoga? Sigh! Thanks, tweeple.
