Mumbai, October 12 - There is no stopping Kantara Chapter 1, which continues to wreak havoc at the box office. The period folk action thriller has stormed past the 500 crores milestone domestically and 600 crores worldwide through the second weekend, becoming only the second film of the year to do so. Written, directed, and headlined by Rishab Shetty, Kantara Chapter 1 has an excellent second weekend with over 100 crores gross at the Indian box office. On its second Sunday, the movie is looking to score around 45 crores, which takes its total domestic gross to over 500 crores. The prequel is expected to reach around 520 crores at the end of the day, making it the second Indian film of the year, after Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava, to breach the 500 crores mark. It has also topped 600 crores worldwide on the same day, which is the second biggest of 2025 behind Kaushal-starrer. Kantara 2 is the 15th Indian film and 8th South Indian title of all-time to hit the milestone of 500 crores domestically. The last film to achieve the feat was Chhaava, while among the South Indian titles, it was Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 - The Rule, which set the box office on fire. With the Diwali holidays, Kantara 2 is expected to stay strong, and if the momentum continues, the film stands a chance to become the biggest Indian grosser of the year, beating Chhaava. Mumbai, October 11 - Rishab Shetty's Kantara Chapter 1 continues its excellent run at the box office, grossing over 500 crores worldwide at the start of the second weekend, after the big first week in India and worldwide. The first week of Kantara 2's box office run saw it competing with the biggest Indian blockbusters, as far as ticket sales are concerned. On the online ticketing platform BookMyShow, the period folk action thriller sold the third highest tickets after the first week. The film, which has emerged as a nationwide phenomenon, sold approximately 8.20 million tickets in its 8-day opening week on the platform, edging past Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan's impressive 7.65 million and Rajinikanth's Jailer (6.60 million) tickets. In the all-time BookMyShow first-week chart (since trending feature), Kantara Chapter 1 now ranks third, behind Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 and Prabhas–starrer Kalki 2898 AD, which sold 12.53 million and 8.47 million tickets, respectively. Mumbai, October 11 - Bollywood star Ajay Devgn reunited with Rakul Preet Singh for the sequel to their 2019 romantic comedy, De De Pyaar De, which also starred Tabu. The original movie turned out to be a solid box office winner, and now, all eyes are on De De Pyaar De 2, which is gearing up to hit the big screen in November this year. On Saturday (October 11), the makers took to social media to drop the first look poster and also to reconfirm the release date, which is November 14. Apart from Ajay and Rakul, the movie also stars R. Madhavan along with Meezaan Jafri, Gautami Kapoor, Ishita Dutta, and Jaaved Jaaferi in prominent roles. According to the report by Bollywood Hungama, the trailer of DDPD2 will be launched on October 14 and will be graced by the film's lead actors, namely Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan and Rakul Preet Singh, Director Anshul Sharma and producers Bhushan Kumar and Luv Ranjan. The trailer will be launched in two cities - Delhi and Mumbai. It is said that the team will first release the trailer in Delhi on October 14. Produced by Hombale Films, Kantara Chapter 1 has grossed around 428 crores in India and an estimated 80 crores from international markets, taking its worldwide total to over 508 crores. As the fans await the film, Siddharth's latest social media post has sent them into a frenzy. On Thursday (October 9), the blockbuster director took to social media and posted a cryptic message. The simple yet intriguing - "Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock." - has sparked excitement among the fans as they assume that the official announcement of the film with the first look teaser is around the corner. If the reports are to be believed, the first look teaser of King is expected to be dropped on November 2, on the occasion of Shah Rukh Khan's 60th birthday. Meanwhile, the shooting of the film is currently going on in Poland, where dialogue-heavy and dramatic scenes are being filmed since SRK is still not cleared to perform high-intensity stunts due to his recent shoulder injury. Rishab Shetty's Kantara Chapter 1 has lived up to the expectations to score 100+ crores opening week in the dubbed Hindi version. The film's Hindi version has scored a good first-week collection of 107 crore net, making it the fifth biggest first-week grosser of 2025 in Hindi. Mumbai, October 10 - The wait for Netflix's science fiction horror drama Stranger Things 5 just got even more intense. The blockbuster series is gearing up for its grand finale, and the newly revealed episode runtimes have sent fans into a frenzy. Ross Duffer, who co-created the Netflix juggernaut with his brother Matt Duffer, revealed the length of the first four episodes for the final season of the show on his Instagram account on Monday. The Season 5 premiere, The Crawl, will run for one hour and 8 minutes; Episode 2 will run 54 minutes; Episode 3 will run one hour and 6 minutes; and Episode 4 will run one hour and 23 minutes. The official runtime, however, refutes viral social media posts that have claimed that every episode of Season 5 would run at least 90 minutes long. Some reports also claimed that the last couple of episodes will clock nearly 3 hours of runtime. The Duffer Brothers reportedly captured over 650 hours of footage this time. "This is our biggest and most ambitious season yet. It’s like eight blockbuster movies," said creator Matt Duffer in an earlier interview. The budget of the show is another jaw-dropping aspect of it.
