Mumbai, September 19 - Debutante actress Aneet Padda became an overnight sensation after the success of Saiyaara under the banner of Yash Raj Films. It was not only a dream debut for the actress, but it also announced the arrival of a new female star who scored praise for her acting skills. Well, it didn't take long for Aneet to bag her next big project as he has been roped in to headline Maddock Films' next horror comedy Shakit Shalini. According to the report by Pinkvilla, Aneet Padda will spearhead Shakti Shalini and has already completed the look test for the film. It is said that producer Dinesh Vijan was on the lookout to infuse his universe with new energies, and multiple actresses were in the race to lead the film, but it's Aneet who has made it to the finish line. She has replaced Kiara Advani, who was originally cast, but she is no longer doing the film for reasons best known to the stakeholders. The director for Shakti Shalini is not finalised yet, but Dinesh Vijan is keen to rope in Munjya fame Aditya Sarpotdar, who is also the director of Maddock's upcoming horror-comedy universe film Thama. The shoot of the Shakti Shalini, which will be the next film after Thama (Diwali 2025), is expected to start by the end of this year. After Shakti Shalini, Maddock has Chamunda in the pipeline with Alia Bhatt in the lead. It is expected to start rolling in May 2026, followed by Stree 3, Bhediya 2, Maha Munjya, Pehla Mahayudh, and Doosara Mahayudh, in the blockbuster universe. Stay tuned...

Hyderabad, September 19 - Director Nag Ashwin has shared a cryptic post, seemingly targeting Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, after she was dropped from the sequel to Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD, following her allegedly over-the-top demands. The news of Deepika's departure came as a shock to her fans, but also not a surprise, given how things have gone in recent times. Meanwhile, Nag Ashwin has reacted to the development. The filmmaker took to Instagram and re-shared a video of Krishna's entry scene from Kalki, 2898 AD, captioning it, "You can't change what happened, but you can choose what happens next." Ashwin's cryptic story quickly went viral across social media platforms, with many speculating that it was aimed at Deepika. The users assume that the makers are clearly not happy with Deepika and are angry. But the users also point out that Nag Ashwin should not use code language to react to the same, and directly say things. Nonetheless, it was a big opportunity for Deepika to score limelight as her character will be the major highlight in Kalki 2, which is otherwise filled with star-studded. The actress essayed the role of Sumati, a pregnant lab subject of Project K and the prophesied mother of Kalki, in the 2023 hit Kalki 2898 AD. The shooting timeline of Kalki 2 is not revealed yet, but the majority of the shoot will take place next year. Mumbai, September 18 - Superstar Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi's much-awaited courtroom comedy-drama Jolly LLB 3 is all set to hit the big screens tomorrow, amid decent expectations. Directed by Subhash Kapoor, the film brings both the Jollys together for the first time, which has increased the stakes and expectations. The film's advance booking has progressed slowly but with a steady pace, as it has so far collected around 2.15 crores gross (without block seats) for the opening day. With the last few hours left for the release, the momentum in the sales is picking up, and it is expected to surpass or come near the advance of Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par (3.31 crores for Day 1). To put things into perspective, Sitaare Zameen Par had collected 10.70 crores net on its opening day with 3.31 crores gross in advance sales on around 3300 screens. Jolly LLB 3 is reportedly releasing in around 3500 screens, and with minimal competition from Bollywood films, it is expected to fare better than SZP. As said, the pre-sales of Jolly LLB 3 are likely to be around the Aamir Khan-starrer, which puts it on course to take the opening in the range of 11-12 crores net. The franchise value is expected to boost the spot booking, and if the reports are positive, it might even challenge Jolly LLB 2's opening of 13.20 crores net, but it is something which depends on how things go on the release day. Early trends suggest that Jolly LLB 3 is poised to score Akshay Kumar one of his better openings in recent times. A double-digit debut looks assured, with the possibility of scaling higher depending on spot bookings and word of mouth. Hyderabad, September 18 - Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone is once again the media headline for the wrong reasons. The actress has been dropped from Prabhas-fronted highly-awaited epic sci-fi Kalki 2, which is scheduled to go on floors next year. The makers issued a statement announcing the actress's departure from the film. While the makers didn't reveal the clear reasons, the statement seemingly addressed the lack of commitment by the actress towards the film. Deepika will now be replaced by another actress, who is yet to be confirmed. Meanwhile, according to the report by Bollywood Hungama, the unreasonable demands of the Pathaan actress were the reason has been dropped from the film. It is said that Deepika demanded a 25% increment on the acting fees she was paid for the first part of the film. She also demanded only 7 hours of work a day. Given that Kalki 2898 AD is a VFX-heavy film, such short shoots were likely to shoot up the budget by a reasonable amount. The Bollywood Hungama report further stressed that the producers were ready to provide a luxury vanity to Deepika, in return for longer shoot hours, and also tried to negotiate finances, given that even Prabhas had not asked for an increment in fees, but she and her team refused to adjust on either. Apart from the aforementioned demands, Deepika also demanded a five-star accommodation for her team, which reportedly consists of 25 people. These never-ending demands of the actress left the producer with no choice but to drop her and replace her with someone else. This is not the first time Deepika has been in the news for such invalid demands. She recently left Prabhas-fronted Spirit, which is scheduled to go on floors in the next couple of months. It is said that director Sandeep Reddy Vanga was shocked to see the lack of professionalism of the actress, and he also seemingly addressed the same on social media. Stay tuned...

The actress was supposed to play a bigger role in the upcoming part, but she will now be replaced by another actress for the role. Vyjayanthi Films took to social media to announce that Deepika Padukone will not be part of Kalki 2. The exact reason for her departure is not revealed yet, but by the looks of the studio's note, it seems the actress was not fully committed to the film, which forced the makers to drop her. Released in June 2024, Kalki 2898 AD is an epic science-fiction film, directed by Nag Ashwin. Mumbai, September 18 - In 2023, Yami Gautam and Sunny Kaushal teamed up for Maddock Films' heist thriller Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga. The movie was directly premiered on Netflix, and went on to become one of the most-watched Indian films on the streamer. Directed by Ajay Singh, Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga received praise for being a one-of-a-kind heist thriller, and struck a chord with the audiences. Now, according to the report by Pinkvilla, the sequel to CNKB is in development at Maddock with Sunny Kaushal and Yami Gautam returning to lead once again. The report says that the script for Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga 2 is already locked, and the makers are expected to take it on floors by the end of this year. The bigger picture is that the makers are aiming to make it s theatrical film, unlike the first movie, which was made as a streaming product. "While Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga revolved around a heist in the air, the sequel has even higher stakes as the robbery takes place in the middle of an ocean. The entire plot of Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga 2 is set on a cruise, where all the madness unfolds. Much like the original, this one too will be an edge-of-the-seat thriller with comic elements", says the report.
