Mumbai, June 20 - Bollywood star Ajay Devgn's romantic action comedy Son of Sardaar 2 is reportedly getting a solo release as Maddock Films' romantic comedy Param Sundari is set to be delayed, according to the report by Peepingmoon.com. ## There had been speculation about the postponement of Param Sundari for some time, but the makers recently announced that it would be released on July 25, on the same day SOS2 hits the big screen. But the Maddock has now decided to postpone Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor's film. ## Producer Dinesh Vijan of Maddock believes that Param Sundari has a strong chance of succeeding at the box office, and he doesn’t want it to get lost in a crowded release schedule. Both SOS2 and Param Sundari are in the same genre, but the former has more face value due to star power and franchise. ## Vijan has strategically opted to reposition the film to ensure it receives the attention it deserves, both for its narrative and its music. While the new date hasn't been finalised yet, the makers are considering bringing Param Sundari in late August or September this year. ## Meanwhile, there is Marvel Studios' "The Fantastic Four: First Steps" also arriving on July 25, but it is unlikely to make much dent in Son of Sardaar 2, which is one of the movies with strong box office potential. ## Stay tuned...

Los Angeles, June 20 - Director James Gunn's Superman is possibly looking to score the biggest opening for a solo Superman movie at the domestic box office after the superhero movie arrived on tracking three weeks before the release. ## Starring David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Superman is the first movie under the new DC Studios, headed by James Gunn and Peter Safran. Directed by Gunn, the movie is hot in the trade with a record opening in sight. ## According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie is tracking to open in the $135 million range at the domestic (North America) box office. The projected figures are from the leading tracking service, the National Research Group, as per THR. ## NRG always provides a range in addition to a solo number; in this case, the range for Superman's domestic opening is $125 million to $145 million. Meanwhile, the insiders at DC Studios and Warner Bros. are not looking too far and are being more conservative in suggesting a $90 million to $125 million opening. ## The projection suggests Superman could emerge as one of the biggest DC openers of all time. It is still behind the $166 million domestic debut of 2016's "Batman v Superman: The Dawn of Justice", but is ahead of or in the range of Zack Snyder's 2013 film "Man of Steel" ($116 million). ## Scheduled to release on July 11, the film explores Superman's journey to reconcile his alien heritage with his adoptive human family. Mumbai, June 19 - Bollywood star Ajay Devgn's much-awaited romantic action comedy Son of Sardaar 2 has been confirmed to hit the big screen on July 25. There were rumours about the postponement, but the makers have officially re-confirmed the date with the first look poster. ## The first look poster shows Ajay Devgn standing on two tanks in his Sardaar look. He confirmed that the film will hit the big screen on July 25, clashing with Sidharth Malhotra, Janhvi Kapoor's romantic comedy "Param Sundari", which is also releasing on the same day. ## Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, SOS2 is a spiritual sequel to the 2012 film Son of Sardaar. Mumbai, June 19 - Hailed as one of the best films of the year, superstar Akshay Kumar's historical biographical drama Kesari: Chapter 2 has found double success after landing on the digital platform following the theatrical release. ## Originally released on April 18, the Karan Singh Tyagi's directorial did well at the box office, grossing around 150 crores worldwide. It was made available on JioHotstar on June 13, following an 8-week theatrical run, and is doing well on the streamer. ## It was revealed that the movie garnered 5.7 million views in its first two days, making it one of the most-watched Indian titles of the year during its first week of release. It has been trending at the number 1 spot since the day it debuted on the platform. ## Kesari 2 was reportedly sold to Hotstar for a substantial sum of around 100 crores, which is among the highest for this kind of film. Mumbai, June 18 - After making his debut with URI: The Surgical Strike (2019), director Aditya Dhar took more than 5 years to set up his next directorial. He teamed with Ranveer Singh for a spy action thriller, titled Dhurandhar, which also stars Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, and R Madhavan in prominent roles. ## According to the report by Pinkvilla, Dhurandhar is a one-of-its-kind spy thriller, which is set against the backdrop of real-life incidents that took place in the regime of India's National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval. It is set in the era of the 1970s and 1980s in Pakistan when Doval worked as a spy. ## The shoot of the film is going on at a brisk pace, with nearly 75% of the total filming already completed. Now, the makers are gearing up to launch the teaser on Ranveer's birthday on July 6. "It's a birthday special unit that will introduce the world of espionage to the cinema-going audience", says the report. ## Dhurandhar has generated a serious, genuine buzz with all the leaks in the recent few months, and the makers are confident to take the audience on a thrilling ride with this one. It is both the actor's next release and there is huge anticipation around it among the fans. ## Jolly LLB 3 is the first time both "Jollys", Arshad Warsi and Akshay Kumar, cross each other's path, after leading the first two films solo, respectively. The first two films were based on some true incidents, and the third one is no different in this regard. ## During an interview with Pinkvilla, Akshay Kumar confirmed that Jolly LLB 3 is inspired by some true events. While he refused to share details, it is said that the movie is based on a farmer's issue. In the film, Arshad will reportedly be fighting for farmers in court before Akshay's entry. ## The film is written and directed by Subhash Kapoor and is produced by 20th Century Studios, Buena Vista International, Cape of Good Films, Star Studios, and Kangra Talkies. The film reportedly stays true to its roots, sharp writing and satirical takes on the legal system. ## Apart from two Jollys, the film also marks the return of Amrita Rao (1st film), Huma Qureshi, and Saurabh Shukla as Justice Sunderlal Tripathi. Mumbai, June 18 - After scoring a big success with Shaitaan, which was the remake of the Gujarati movie Vash, Bollywood star Ajay Devgn is all set to thrill the audience with its sequel. The first film also starred R. Madhavan, Jyothika, and Janaki Bodiwala. ## According to the latest report by Peepingmoon.com, Shaitaan is being developed into a full-fledged franchise with a sequel officially in the works. Unlike the first movie, Shaitaan 2 won't be the remake of Vash Level 2, which is scheduled to hit the big screen in August this year. ## Slated to go on floors in the first quarter of 2026, the sequel will reportedly shift its setting to Konkan, a region in Maharashtra known as a hub for black magic practices, and it will be an original script. Vikas Bahl will return to direct Shaitaan 2. ## Aamil Keeyan Khan has been developing the sequel since last year, and he is believed to have nearly finished the scripting, with only minor refinements remaining. Bahl will start preparation for the film after the release of his upcoming romantic comedy, "Dil Ka Darwaaza Khol Na Darling". ## Shaitaan is one of Ajay Devgn's upcoming 6th franchise films, with others including "Son of Sardaar 2" (July 25), "De De Pyaar De 2" (November 14), "Dhamaal 4" (Eid 2026), "Drishyam 3" (October 2, 2026), and "Golmaal 5", which is expected to go on floors early next year for 2027 release. ## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, June 17 - Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has often shown his love for big screen cinema, and he is doing the same for his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par by protecting its exclusive theatrical window, even at the cost of crores of rupees. ## It is known to all that Aamir has not decided to sell the film's post-theatrical OTT rights, as he wants people to watch the film on the big screen without having any idea when it will be available on home media for free. While his decision is being cheered by the trade, he has sacrificed a huge sum to stand firm on his decision. ## According to trade analyst Komal Nahta, Aamir has turned down a huge 120 crore offer from Amazon Prime Video for the film's post-theatrical OTT release. The decision he has taken is not because he wanted more money from OTT platforms, but because he has decided to try and change the game. ## Normally, the films are made available on OTT after an 8-weeks of their theatrical release, and this is something Aamir is completely against. He believes that there should be no fixed window for any movie and that they should be played in theatres as long as possible. ## In the post-COVID-19 world, filmmakers started having pre-agreements with OTT platforms with a fixed theatrical window. Trade believes that this is one of the main reasons footfalls have reduced in cinemas, especially for mid-size films, as there is a section of audience which is ready to wait for 8 weeks to watch them for 'free', which was not the case before Covid-19. ## This is something Aamir wants to change, and he is leading by example by not selling OTT rights of Sitaare Zameen Par, and has vowed to do the same with his upcoming movies. By turning down a massive 120 crores offer, however, is a huge risk taken by the Dangal star, but if he succeeds, then it can be a game changer and might pave the way for other filmmakers to follow the same for the larger interest of the industry. ## Sitaare Zameen Par is scheduled to hit the big screen on June 20. ## Stay tuned...
