Mumbai, June 13 - Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has officially confirmed that he will be making a cameo appearance in director Lokesh Kanagaraj's Coolie, starring superstar Rajinikanth in the lead role among others. ## While promoting his upcoming film, Sitaare Zameen Par, Aamir Khan responded to a fan's question during the interview with Zoom. He revealed that he is a big fan of Rajinikanth and agreed to play the cameo role when Lokesh approached him without hearing the script. ## "I enjoyed doing it. I am a big fan of Rajini sir... huge fan. I have a lot of love and respect for Rajini sir. So, I did not even hear the script. When Lokesh told me that it is a Rajini sir's movie and that he wanted me to do a cameo, I said, Done. I am doing it. Mumbai, June 13 - Superstar Akshay Kumar's comedy entertainer Housefull 5 has completed the first week of its theatrical run, grossing close to 200 crores at the worldwide box office. ## Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, the 5th instalment of the hit franchise has grossed approximately 152 crores (127 crores net) at the domestic box office, while its overseas collection is estimated at 43 crores, for a worldwide total of around 195 crores in 7 days. ## Housefull 5 has become the third highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2025, behind Salman Khan's Sikandar, which grossed around 185 crores. Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava is currently the biggest grosser with around 808 crores, followed by Ajay Devgn's Raid 2 (236 crores). ## The latest hit is the highest-grossing film of Akshay Kumar since August 2023, when OMG 2 grossed approximately 222 crores. Hyderabad, June 12 - One of the most ambitious Indian films in the making, AA22xA6, has begun filming today, June 12, in Mumbai. The film marks the first collaboration between superstar Allu Arjun and director Atlee. ## The film was officially launched on June 11 with a puja ceremony in Mumbai, before kickstarting the principal photography a day later. It is said that Mrunal Thakur, who plays one of the female leads, has joined the first schedule with Allu Arjun. ## It will be a brief yet crucial schedule, focusing on key sequences that will set the tone for the expansive production ahead. A special announcement photoshoot with the cast of the film also reportedly happened yesterday, which will be unveiled in the next announcement. ## AA22xA6 is reportedly being made on a budget of over 600 crores, making it among the costliest Indian films ever. Set in a parallel universe, the film promises to redefine cinematic storytelling with its visual effects and high-concept world-building. ## The film stars Allu Arjun in a dual role alongside Deepika Padukone, Mrunal Thakur, and Janhvi Kapoor in prominent roles. Los Angeles, June 11 - A new feature film about the DC superhero Wonder Woman is officially in development, according to the CEO of DC Studios, James Gunn. The movie would be in addition to an HBO series about Wonder Woman's home of Themyscira. ## During an interview with Entertainment Weekly (EW), James Gunn said that they are working on Wonder Woman, which is currently being written. According to Variety, the new film would be a fresh start for the superhero character, and it is unlikely to bring Gal Gadot, who has played Diana Prince/Wonder Woman. ## Gadot has played this iconic character in 2017's "Wonder Woman" and "Justice League," 2020's "Wonder Woman 1984," 2021's "Zack Snyder's Justice League," and in a cameo in 2023's "The Flash." ## There are several DC Films that are said to be in development at the studio, and a few of them have already been greenlit. The first, "Superman," opens in July this year, starring David Corenswet as the Man of Steel. The second, "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow," starring Milly Alcock, opens in June 2026. Hyderabad, June 11 - Director Trivikram Srinivas last directed the superstar Mahesh Babu-fronted Guntur Kaaram, which was released in January 2024. Since then, the director has been working on a mythological film and teamed up with superstar Allu Arjun for the same. ## Allu Arjun's film with Trivikram was supposed to start rolling by the end of this year; however, things have changed a lot over the last few weeks. According to the latest Telugu media reports, the Pushpa star has amicably parted ways with the director due to a scheduling conflict. ## It is said that the film, which was supposed to be made with Allu Arjun, will now be headlined by superstar Jr. NTR, marking his reunion with the director after Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava (2018). The film is about the God of War, Kartikeya / Subrahmanya Swamy. The project is said to be confirmed, and it will be produced by Haarika and Hassine Creations. The official announcement of the same is expected to be made in a few days. ## There has been an interesting rumour about Trivikram's film. It is said that the film was originally planned with Tamil star Suriya back in 2020. But then Covid happened, and later, the project went to Allu Arjun, and now, it will finally be made with Jr. NTR. ## Meanwhile, Trivikram will team up with Venkatesh Daggubati for his next, which begins in July this year. He will then make a film with superstar Ram Charan, and after completing it, he will start Jr. NTR's film, possibly by the end of 2026 or early 2027. Mumbai, June 11 - Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is opting for a strategic release of his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par, which debuts on the big screen on June 20. The film is the spiritual successor to Khan's 2007 film Taare Zameen Par. ## Sitaare Zameen Par has been in the news for all the right reasons. It has already been confirmed that the movie won't be released on any OTT platform after its theatrical release, a decision which is being enjoyed by exhibitors. ## According to the report by Pinkvilla, Aamir, along with his national distributing partner, PVR-Inox, has decided to give a platform release to Sitaare Zameen Par, which is basically to increase the shows on a real-time basis throughout the day. It is a one of its kind strategy to release the film. ## It is said that Aamir Khan is super confident of the film, but he is also well aware of the change in audience dynamics post the Covid-19 pandemic. Keeping this in mind, the makers have reportedly decided to release the film on around 1200 screens nationwide on the opening day. ## The idea is to add more screens based on audience word of mouth. "The release will be more concentrated towards the high-performing cinema halls in the respective areas, before slowly transitioning to the mass belts on demand", says the report. ## The good thing is that no one knows when the film will be available on home media since Aamir has decided not to release it on OTT, and this gives the makers enough time to implement their release strategy. Mumbai, June 10 - After the solid hold on Monday, Akshay Kumar-fronted Housefull 5 continues to score well and scored another double-digit collection on its first Tuesday. It was a discounted day, and the drop was well within the expected range. ## According to early estimates, the comedy entertainer scored 10.50-11.50 crores net collection on Tuesday/the 5th day, pushing total collection to around 111 crores. With this, it has crossed Housefull 3 (110 crores net) to become the third biggest domestic grosser of the franchise. ## The first full week of the film is heading toward 125-130 crores net, which is a good result. The lack of competition in the second weekend is expected to help the film as it will be looking to score a solid hold during the weekend. Mumbai, June 10 - Filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri has renamed his upcoming film The Delhi Files: The Bengal Chapter on public demand. The political drama has now been titled as The Bengal Files: Right To Life, which is the third film in Agnihotri's Files trilogy after The Tashkent Files (2019) and The Kashmir Files (2022). ## Taking to social media on Tuesday, Agnihotri shared the new title along with a poster of the film, which examines the horrific communal violence that took place in undivided Bengal during the 1940s. The filmmaker announced that the teaser of the movie will be out on June 5, while the film will hit the big screen on September 5 this year. ## The Bengal Files: Right To Life delves into historical events such as the Direct Action Day and the Noakhali riots. Agnihotri has described these incidents as a "Hindu genocide" and expressed his intent to bring to light a largely neglected chapter of Indian history. Mumbai, June 10 - Yash Raj Films' ambitious crossover Tiger vs Pathaan has reportedly been shelved. The spy action thriller was supposed to bring together Indian cinema's two biggest stars, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, for the first time in full-fledged roles since Karan Arjun. ## According to the report by Peepingmoon.com, YRF's head, Aditya Chopra, is reassessing the future of Spy Universe to give it a new direction. It is said that Chopra is concerned about spy universe films becoming formulaic and "veering towards repetition". ## Chopra believes that the franchise needs a revitalised approach to storytelling and presentation, and in this process, the studio has reportedly paused the development of Tiger vs Pathaan, which was supposed to start rolling in late 2026. ## YRF next has Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR's War 2, scheduled to hit the big screen on August 14, followed by Alia Bhatt's Alpha in December this year. For Akshay Kumar, it is his 18th movie, which ties with Salman Khan's for the joint highest number of films to surpass this milestone. Mumbai, June 9 - Producer Sajid Nadiadwala's comedy entertainer Housefull 5, starring superstar Akshay Kumar along with others, scored a very good opening weekend at the domestic and worldwide box office with around 140 crores gross collection. ## Housefull 5 hit the big screen on June 6 amid high expectations, and it didn't disappoint at the box office. The movie took one of the biggest openings for a Bollywood title of the year, followed by a solid hold on Saturday and Sunday. ## Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, the comic caper has grossed approximately 104.50 crores at the domestic box office, which is the biggest Friday to Sunday opening weekend for an Akshay Kumar-starrer, and overall, the second biggest opening weekend for the actor after Mission Mangal (115 crore gross in 4 days). ## Overseas, Housefull 5 has grossed an estimated 35 crores for the worldwide total of around 140 crores, which is again the biggest 3-day opening global opening weekend for Akki. For the 2025 Bollywood movie, it was the second biggest weekend, behind Chhaava (165 crore gross). ## The opening weekend results for Housefull 5 are very good and show that the movie has found acceptance among the moviegoers.
