Los Angeles, October 13 - Marvel Studios' highly anticipated film The Marvels, starring Brie Larson, is tracking a lower-than-expected opening at the domestic (North America) box office. The movie is a sequel to 2019's "Captain Marvel" which was a massive box-office blockbuster.## Directed by Nia DaCosta, "The Marvels" is the third film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's (MCU) Phase 5, and the first since "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" in May 2023. Being a sequel to a highly successful blockbuster, the upcoming movie carries big expectations as far as the box office is concerned but the early projections are indicating otherwise.## According to Box Office Pro, the superhero sequel is tracking to earn $50 million - $75 million in the domestic (North America) opening weekend, which is less than half of $153.4 million opening of 2019's "Captain Marvel". The pre-sales of the movie are legging much behind "GoTG3" and "Ant-Man 3" which opened over $100 million each. ## MCU has been experiencing lacklustre box office response of late. Marvel Studios 'The Marvels' Will Release Without The IMAX Format

Los Angeles, July 30 - Marvel Studios' next theatrical tentpole "The Marvels" is getting ready to release in November this year. Directed by Nia DaCosta, the movie is the sequel to "Captain Marvel" (2019), which grossed over $1.10 billion at the global box office. It is the first female-led superhero movie to top a billion dollars at the box office.## "The Marvels" is expected to be another money spinner for Marvel and Disney, however, it will have to perform exceptionally well to top come close to its predecessor. In a major setback to the film, it won't be playing in the IMAX format due to Warner Bros. Pictures' sci-fi epic "Dune - Part 2" which is releasing on November 3. ## Warner Bros. has partnered with IMAX to play "Dune 2" for 5-6 weeks which means "The Marvels" will have to be without this premium format. Dune, specifically, I mean, there's another great movie coming out around [that] time, which is The Marvels from Marvel, and we can't play it because we are committed to Dune. Previously, MCU's "Thor: Ragnarok" and "Doctor Strange" were also released in the same month and had a big success. ## "The Marvels", which is directed by Nia DaCosta, is the sequel to the $1.1 billion grossing 2019 title "Captain Marvel". Salma Hayek: I Was Shocked When Offered 'Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard'

Los Angeles, May 21, 2021: Hollywood actress, Salma Hayek said that she was shocked when director Patrick Hughes asked her to reprise her role of Sonia Kincaid in the upcoming American action-comedy "Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard" - a sequel to the 2017 hit "The Hit Man's Bodyguard".## "Quite frankly, I was shocked", she said adding that she has been in many films where she got the call from people who loved her characters. ## Salman is in the film along with Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson, Antonio Banderas, and Morgan Freeman in prominant roles. She is happy that director Patrick Hughes listened to what the audience wanted in the sequel. ## "For the first time, there was a director that said, 'I'm gonna listen to the audience'. But I didn't trust him. In the beginning, I said, 'oh, he's just exaggerating. He's just being nice'", she said.## "But then when we started talking about it, he told me the storyline, and then I realized, 'oh, my God, this guy is not for real, but he also wants me involved in the process'", she added. ## Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard is currently in the post-production stage.
