Ranveer Singh Locks Shooting Timeline For 'Don 3' and 'Shaktimaan'

Mumbai, February 15 - Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh is gearing up for the non-stop action in the next couple of years with back-to-back big-ticket entertainers. The actor has had a mixed bag of success over the last couple of years and now, he aims to make big over the next few years. ## Ranveer is currently shooting for director Rohit Shetty's Singham Again with Ajay Devgn in the title role. The actor has already shot for most of his part and will wrap up by April this year. It is said that Ranveer is playing a significant extended role in Singham 3 which also has Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, and Tiger Sharoff with Arjun Kapoor as the main antagonist. ## After wrapping up Singham 3, the Simmba star will move to director Farhan Akhtar's Don 3. The actor has replaced superstar Shah Rukh Khan to headline the third instalment of the franchise and he will undergo workshops to get into the part of Don. According to Pinkvilla, director Farhan Akhtar is aiming to take Don 3 on floors by August/September this year. ## Don 3 will be shot in India and abroad over a period of 7 months and it is expected to wrap up by March 2025. After getting done with this, Ranveer will reportedly head to the superhero movie Shaktimaan. It was announced in February 2022 with Sony Pictures coming on board to bankroll it. ## Shaktimaan has been in the writing stage for over 3 years now and the team has finally cracked a script that's worthy of doing justice to the legacy of Shaktimaan. Mumbai, January 16 - In February 2022, Sony Pictures India in association with Mukesh Khanna's Bheeshm International announced the big screen adaptation of Khanna-led iconic superhero TV show Shaktimaan. The makes also released the concept video and announced that it would be made into a trilogy. ## However, after making the grand announcement, there hasn't been a concrete development on the same, except for reports that Ranveer Singh is on board to headline the project with Malayalam actor and filmmaker Basil Joseph to direct it.## Since there was not much happening around this ambitious film, it was recently reported that the makers have shelved it due to its high budget which is said to be over 500 crores. The report claimed that Sony was not ready to invest such a huge amount in the film at the moment but might revisit it in the future with a reduced budget. ## But it seems there was no truth about the aforementioned development as General Manager & Head, Sony Pictures International Productions, India, Lada Guruden Singh has refuted the reports and confirmed that the movie is very much on. The timeline of shooting details is not revealed yet but it is expected to go on floors later this year.## ## Ranveer Singh, meanwhile, is currently shooting for director Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgn's "Singham Again", in which he plays an extended cameo as Simmba. Mukesh Khanna Opens Up On Why Superhero Movie 'Shaktimaan' Production Getting Delayed

Mumbai, June 7 - In February last year, Sony Pictures India in association with Mukesh Khanna's Bheeshm International, and Brewing Thoughts Private Limited announced the cinematic adaptation of the popular Indian superhero show Shaktimaan. ## Sony Pictures announced the movie as a planned trilogy, but there hasn't been much development happened since the announcement. During this, the rumors have been making rounds that Ranveer Singh was approached to play the iconic role but there was no confirmation about the same after that. ## Mukesh Khanna, who played the titular role in the "Shaktimaan" tv series, has now opened up on why the production of the movie is getting delayed and when it will start rolling. Khanna confirmed that the contract between him and Sony Pictures has already been signed and plans are being made to start the production soon. ## "This is a big-scale project and each film in the trilogy would cost at least 200-300 crores in the making. This is not a small film, it is a massive film, and that takes time. A lot of things are happening, but I am not allowed to talk", Khanna said in a video on his YouTube Channel Bhishma International.## The actor-producer also revealed that he cannot make any appearance in Shaktimaan's get-up now as the makers of the movie don't want any comparison. Khanna, however, refused to reveal the actor who will play the role of "Shaktimaan" but promised that the cast will be revealed soon. ## It has been also reported that Malayalam filmmaker Basil Joseph has been approached to direct the film with Ranveer Singh being the front-runner to headline it. Mumbai, October 20 - It has been nearly 8 months since Sony Pictures India in association with Mukesh Khanna's Bheeshm International, and Brewing Thoughts Private Limited announced big screen adaptation of the popular television superhero show Shaktimaan. ## Ever since the announcement, the makers have been searching for a director to helm this trilogy, and it seems they have finally found the one. According to Pinkvilla, Malayalam director Basil Joseph, who directed the critically acclaimed desi superhero movie "Minnal Murali", is in the advance talks to helm "Shaktimaan" trilogy. ## The report says that Basil is himself a huge Shaktimaan fan and has shown keen interest in directing this film. ## "The director has already met the Shaktimaan team multiple times and is keen to come on board the film. The producers have asked Basil to come up with his own version of the screenplay to know if he is on the same wavelength as the team on the visual and story-telling front", Pinkvilla reports.## The "Shaktimaan" trilogy will be made on a huge budget and the makers are looking for the best artists to come on board the film. Mumbai, July 7 - Bollywood star Ranveer Singh has been shooting for Karan Johar's "Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani" for quite some time now as the film, co-stars Alia Bhatt, is scheduled to release in February 2023. Before that, Ranveer will be headlining Rohit Shetty's comic caper "Cirkus", due on December 23, 2022, release. ## Ranveer, apart from the aforementioned films, will also be doing the Hindi remake of director Shankar's "Anniyan". However, the production has been delayed indefinitely due to Shankar's other commitments for "RC 15" and "Indian 2". Meanwhile, the actor has been discussing multiple films and one of them is "Shaktimaan". ## Sony Pictures India and actor-producer Mukesh Khanna had earlier announced the "Shaktimaan" trilogy. Mumbai, June 18 - The iconic television show, "Shaktimaan" was a huge hit when it was first aired in 1997. Mukesh Khanna played the titular superhero character and his alter ego Pandit Gangadhar Vidhyadhar Mayadhar Omkarnath Shastri, a photographer for the newspaper Aaj Ki Aawaz.## The legendary superhero character, which made the childhood of 90s kids awesome, will now be returning to the big screen in the form of the "Shaktimaan" trilogy. Sony Pictures, which is behind the Marvel superhero films like "Spider-Man", and "Venom", hold the rights to the film. ## In a recent conversation with Amar Ujala, Mukesh Khanna shared a few details about the movie and also hint who could play the titular role. The actor, and producer said that it will be made on a huge budget of Rs. 300 crores and will have full desi vibes. ## "This project has come to me after many years. People used to tell me to make Shaktimaan 2. I didn't want to bring Shaktimaan back on TV", Khanna said. "After internal talks, I joined hands with the Sony people and later made the news public. People want to know what’s happening next. Now, what should I tell them? This is a big film of at least Rs 300 crore. Can't tell you much about it till everything is finalized". ## "This movie is being made by the makers of Spider-Man. But, Shaktimaan will be desi. I have prepared the story of the film in my own way. My only condition to them was that they wouldn't change the story", he added. ## Mukhesh Khanna hints that he might turn Shakitmaan again as he feels that the Indian audience will not accept anyone else in this iconic role. "People ask who will become Shaktimaan? This is also a very big question in itself, which I will not answer, but it is also certain that without Mukesh Khanna, there will be no Shaktimaan.
