Fauji 2: New Version of Shah Rukh Khan's Iconic TV Show Announced

New Delhi, October 15 - Filmmaker Sandeep Singh has collaborated with the national broadcaster Doordarshan to announce Fauji 2, the new version of Shah Rukh Khan-led iconic television series.## Directed by Abhinav Pareek, Fauji 2 will star Vicky Jain and Gauahar Khan in the leading roles and will introduce twelve new actors - Aashish Bhardwaj, Utkarsh Kohli, Rudra Soni, Amardeep Phogat, Ayaan Manchanda, Niel Satpuda, Suvansh Dhar, Priyanshu Rajguru, Aman Singh Deep, Udit Kapur, Maansi and Sushmita Bhandari.## The show will feature 11 songs with music composed by music director Shreyas Puranik. Sonu Nigam has lent his voice to the title track of Fauji 2, produced by Sandeep Singh and co-produced by Vicky Jain and Zafar Mehdi with Sameer Hallim as the Creative Head. ## The original show, Fauji was first aired in 1989 and was created by the legendary writer and producer, Lt. Col. Raj Kumar Kapoor. It revolved around the lives of Indian Army recruits, undergoing training at a military academy.## Fauji marked Shah Rukh Khan's television as well as his acting debut. He played the lead role of Abhimanyu Rai, a dedicated and determined soldier in training. Subhash Ghai Reveals His Inspiration Behind Composing For '36 Farmhouse'

Mumbai, Jan 19 (IANS) Filmmaker Subhash Ghai has talked about his inspiration behind composing and writing songs for the web film '36 Farmhouse'.## He said: "Since I became writer-director, whenever I start writing a script, I have had a habit of thinking of music also along with storylines and its characters and I used to suggest my poetic catch lines from my script to my lyrics writers and mood of the music to my composers.## "So, my songs became an integral part of the film itself. This process clicked in a big way. So, now while writing the storyline of '36 Farmhouse', I did write a few lyrics and started composing too as per the story and characters".## Ghai said it gave him an opportunity to test himself independently to write and compose three songs in a flow.## "Today technology helps you a lot in composing song and music. I hired a musician from Whistling Woods Music School, Abhishek Bonthu, who translated my vision and compositions into a song on computer", he said.## He added: "Then I requested two legendary singers Sonu Nigam and Hariharan to lend their voices to my songs and they did oblige me happily and made a lot of difference to my creation as a composer".## The filmmaker said that it was also four decades of learning from association with veterans like Laxmikant Pyarelal and A.R. Rahman and Anand Bakshi as great lyricists.## "Thirdly, I had also developed a knack of writing poems and songs during these two years of pandemic time".## The film '36 Farmhouse' is directed by Ram Ramesh Sharma and it features Amol Parashar, Barkha Singh, Sanjay Mishra, Vijay Raaz, Flora Saini, and Ashwini Kalsekar among others.## The film releases on ZEE5 on January 21.## Stay tuned...

Adnan Sami stands by 'true brother' Sonu Nigam

Mumbai, April 22 (IANS) At a time when singer Sonu Nigam faces trolling from a section of netizens over his three-year-old tweet comments on 'azaan', singer Adnan Sami has come out in his support.## Calling Sonu Nigam his "true brother", Sami claimed that the singer respects all faiths.## "As far as Sonu Nigam is concerned, forget about his singing which is incredibly beautiful; he is a true brother who has always been by my side and loved me like my own!! I know for a fact, personally, that he respects all faiths!! Kindly leave him alone... #WithYouSonuNigam," Sami tweeted.## All through Tuesday, Nigam trended on social media after certain tweets he had posted in 2017 criticizing the 'azaan' started going viral. A section of the media also erroneously reported that Nigam weighed down by the trolling, had deactivated his Twitter account. Mumbai, April 5 (IANS) A Former VJ and actress Mini Mathur on Sunday went down memory lane and reminisced her experience anchoring popular singing reality TV show "Indian Idol".## "' Indian idol' was India's first reality show...None of us had any idea that it would capture India's imagination and go on to be a rage! I was straight out of 5 years as an MTV VJ, I had just delivered Vivaan... I was totally up to host a new international format but completely unprepared for being so emotionally involved with the show. Because it was a first at so many levels- pure, organic, truthful, naked. There was no pretension, no gimmicks or manipulation. It was also the first time viewers were involved in voting for the winner," she wrote.## Mini also shared how she "was chased by people to know more about the contestants (who I'm still close to) I traveled to remote corners of the country meeting people with such touching stories".## She added: "I connected with truck drivers, farmers, students, vegetable sellers, housewives at the same time as A-list stars, music maestros and celebrities. I was the receptacle to the great Indian "HOPE"."## Mini had hosted six seasons of the show. Armaan Malik: Whoever I am today is because of Bollywood music

Mumbai, April 1 (IANS) Singer Armaan Malik, who launched an English song titled "Control" last month, says he hasn't forgotten his Bollywood roots.## "I've always wanted to sing in English, but Bollywood music made me Armaan Malik. Whoever I am today is because of Bollywood music. I've sung more than 300 songs - across languages!" said Armaan.## The "Bol do na zara" hitmaker calls himself "a bit of a perfectionist".## "I feel every piece of work that I have to do needs to be a masterpiece. But sometimes, when I'm very convinced with a song, it's never worked. We have to bridge what we think is right and what the market thinks is right," he said.## He also shared that there was a time in his life when he had to experience "one dark patch".## "There came this one dark patch in the last two years, I broke down and told my dad, 'listen, I hate the songs I've sung'" said the young singer, who is the son of composer Daboo Malik.## Armaan comes from a family of musicians, but he drew inspiration from outside as well.## "The person who really inspired me was Sonu Nigam when I was growing up. COVID-19: Sonu Nigam won't return from Dubai until things get normal

Dubai, March 21 (IANS) Amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, singer Sonu Nigam is currently self-isolating himself along with his family in Dubai. ## "I was in the Himalayas till March 5th and then my Mumbai concert got postponed, so I decided to join my family in Dubai till March 17. I'll have to wait now till things we normal. Don't wanna be stuck in quarantine and burden the already burdened authorities," Sonu told Mid-Day. ## He also shared about the precautions he has been taking in the wake of COVID-19. ## "I would have loved to be with my father and sister but I guess I could potentially be dangerous to them due to my exposure to Dubai and Mumbai airports bit forgetting the aircraft itself. ## "We are generally indoors. Nevaan's (Sonu's son) is studying in Dubai and his school is closed so we have ample time to do things indoors. Basically avoiding outdoors unless it's super necessary. Cleanliness and disconnect socially is being exercised by us too," Sonu added. ## Not only this, the "Har Ghadi Badal Rahi Hai" fame singer has also decided to perform online for his fans during Janata Curfew on Sunday. ## Sharing his thought behind the online concert , Sonu said: "Since the entire country has decided to adhere to Our Prime Minister's appeal to observe Janata Curfew from 7 am to 9 pm on 22nd March, I thought of giving them a reason to smile at 8 pm India time, the time when they might reach the peak of their frustration, and would be waiting for some excursion. ## "I'll be doing a concert for not just Indians but all the people world wide who follow Indian Music, live streamed through my various social networking platforms.
