'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse' Races Past First Film's Entire Worldwide Box Office

Los Angeles, June 18 - Sony Pictures' animated superhero movie Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse has turned out to be a huge blockbuster for the studio and has already surpassed the entire worldwide box office collection of the first film. ## The latest sequel has so far grossed over $426 million at the global box office, much ahead of "Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse" which grossed $384 million in its entire run in 2018. "Spider-Verse 2" crossed the first movie's domestic (North America) total of $190 million in just 9 days and global total in just 12 days. ## "Across The Spider-Verse" has so far grossed $261 million domestically and $165 million overseas in 16 days for $426 million worldwide total. It is now the highest-grossing animated movie for Sony Pictures at the global box office. ## The movie is benefitting from strong word-of-mouth and goodwill for the original, which introduced audiences to this universe's Spider-Man, known as Miles Morales, and brought the concept of a cinematic multiverse to the masses. Premium large formats, including Imax, have also been important in boosting the film's grosses.## Outside North America, the top-grossing market for "Spider-Verse 2" is China with a $40 million gross collection so far. Sony Pictures Officially Greenlit 'Venom 3' & Also Reveals The Title Of Third 'Spider-Verse' Movie

Los Angeles, April 26 - Sony Pictures has officially greenlit the third "Venom" movie at CinemaCon 2022. The first two Venom movies have collectively grossed $1.4 billion at the global box office to date. ## The first "Venom" movie was released in 2018 and grossed more than $850 million at the global box office along with an 81% Audience Score on Rotten Tomatoes. The last movie, "Venom: Let There Be Carnage", was released in October 2021 and went on to score $502 million worldwide. ## Sony Pictures, however, hasn't revealed much about "Venom 3", just the pic's logo in a closing sizzle reel, and no talent attachments were revealed. Venom might have a crossover with Spider-Man in the third movie as teased in "Venom 2". ## Meanwhile, Sony has revealed that the third "Spider-Verse" movie has been titled "Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse" and it is dated March 29, 2024. Sony Announces New Release Dates Of 'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse I & II', And 'Madame Web'

Los Angeles, April 21 - Sony Pictures has pushed back the release dates of its much-anticipated superhero movies. The studio, on Wednesday, announced that "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse", which was slated for theatrical release on October 7 this year, will now open on June 2, 2023. Instead, Sony's live-action/CGI musical comedy Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile — based on the book series by Bernard Waber, will now debut on Oct. 7 from November 18, 2022. ## "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" is the first of a two-part sequel to 2018's "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse", which pushed the boundaries of animation and collected a best animated Oscar. It is easily the most-anticipated Spider-Man animated movie. ## Meanwhile, the second part of "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse", has landed a release date of March 29, 2024. The film once again voice stars Shameik Moore as Miles Morales while Oscar Isaac voices Miguel O'Hara/Spider-Man 2099, An alternate version of Spider-Man from the future. ## Sony also revealed that "Madame Web", based on the Marvel Comic character, will open on July 7, 2023, while "The Equalizer 3" will hit the big screen on Sept. 1, 2023. Sony Announces Two New Untitled Marvel Movies In 2023

Mumbai, October 23 - Sony Pictures is expanding its Marvel Universe and announced two new untitled Marvel films for the 2023 release. While the studio already has "Kraven the Hunter" for January 2023, it has also added release dates for unannounced projects on June 23, 2023, and October 6, 2023. ## While it is unclear when Sony intends to reveal what movies will fill those dates, fans have already started speculating that one of the two could be the third film in the Venom series. If the speculations are on spot, then the sequel to "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" might fill October 2023 release date as both Venom movies thus far have had October release dates. ## The third "Venom" movie is a no-brainer that it is going to be made in a live-action franchise featuring characters from the Spider-Man family, after "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" is going strong at the box worldwide. However, it will come out in October 2023, remains a secret yet. The June 2023 release date again remains the secret, and again the speculations are that it could be filled with the 4th Spidy movie in the MCU (pure rumors). ## Meanwhile, Sony has pushed Columbia Pictures' "A Journal for Jordan" to Dec. 25 of this year. The film was previously slated to premiere in New York and Los Angeles on Dec. 10 before getting a wide release on Dec. 22. Additionally, TriStar Pictures' The Nightingale, previously scheduled for release on Dec. 23, 2022, has now been delayed indefinitely.## On the other hand, Sony/Marvel's "Spider-Man: No Way Home" is scheduled to release on December 17, 2021, and "Morbius" is slated for January 28, 2022. Los Angeles, April 25 (IANS) Marvel Cinematic Universes third "Spider-Man" film and the sequel to the hit "Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse" have been pushed, amid the shuffle in release dates owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.## Hollywood studios have been revamping release schedules due to the ongoing crisis. Now, Sony Pictures has pushed back its two untitled "Spider-Man" sequels for several months, reports variety.com.## The studio announced that Marvel-Sony's "Spider-Man Far From Home" sequel has moved from July 16, 2021, to November 5, 2021. Sony Pictures Animation's "Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse" sequel has been delayed by six months from April 8, 2022, to October 7, 2022.## Tom Holland's "Spider-Man: Far From Home" was one of the most successful films of 2019, grossing $1.13 billion at the worldwide box office. The rescheduled film is the third installment in the franchise, which launched in 2017 with "Spider-Man: Homecoming".## "Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse", which grossed $375 million worldwide, won last year's Academy Award for Best Animated Movie.## Holland's video-game adaptation "Uncharted" has moved forward from October 8, 2021, to July 16, 2021, a slot which was previously occupied by his "Spider-Man Far From Home" sequel.## The studio has also updated "The Nightingale", starring Dakota Fanning and Elle Fanning, from its Christmas Day release. Based on Kristin Hannah's 2015 bestseller "The Nightingale" tells the story of two sisters coming of age in France on the eve of World War II, and their struggle to survive the Nazi occupation of France. The film has not been shot yet.## The studio has also moved back the Kevin Hart drama "Fatherhood" six months from October 23, 2020, to April 2, 2021. Paul Weitz is directing "Fatherhood" from a screenplay he wrote alongside Dana Stevens. It is based upon the memoir of "Two Kisses For Maddy: A Memoir Of Loss And Love" by Matthew Logelin.## Sony also pushed back its action-comedy "Man From Toronto" nearly a year to September 17, 2021, from November 20, 2020.
