Dhurandhar 2 vs Toxic Box Office Clash: Yash Starrer To Get Double The Screens In Kerala

BY SACNILK TEAM

Kochi, March 3 - The March 19 box office clash in Kerala is turning out to be one of the most intense release battles of the year, with three major films arriving on the same day. According to trade buzz, Toxic and the local Malayalam sequel Aadu 3 are emerging as the biggest winners in terms of showcasing, while Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge faces a clear disadvantage in the state. As per reports, Toxic is set to get 300+ screens in Kerala, riding high on Yash's massive fan following post the KGF franchise. Meanwhile, Aadu 3 is also expected to release on 300+ screens, thanks to its strong franchise value and solid recall among the Malayalam audience. In contrast, Dhurandhar 2 is likely to get around 150 screens, giving it significantly lower visibility compared to its two rivals in the state. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The screen sharing clearly highlights the regional market dynamics in Kerala, where local content and proven South Indian stars often enjoy priority over Hindi releases. Toxic's aggressive rollout is being backed by strong distributor confidence, while Aadu 3 benefits from being a homegrown franchise with a loyal audience base. Together, the two films are expected to dominate prime shows across multiplexes and single screens during the opening weekend. For Dhurandhar 2, the limited screen count could pose a challenge despite its scale and pan-India appeal. The film will largely depend on positive word of mouth and audience spillover from other territories to sustain its run in Kerala. With all three films targeting different core audiences, the March 19 clash is set to offer a fascinating case study of how star power, regional preference, and screen economics shape box office outcomes in a competitive market like Kerala. Kamal Haasan Laments Cinema's Shift From Craft To Collections: "It Is Not About Quality Anymore"

BY SACNILK TEAM

Veteran superstar and Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan has voiced his concerns over the film industry's growing obsession with box office numbers, suggesting that the "mark" of a filmmaker is now measured in crores rather than artistic excellence. The "Mark" of Success: Quality vs. Quantity Speaking at a recent leadership summit in Tamil Nadu, the Thug Life actor reflected on how the benchmarks for success have fundamentally shifted in the modern era of cinema. Haasan highlighted how the industry’s focus has moved away from the "craft" to the "end result"—which is strictly financial. "Now, they tell me I escape the marks. I have made my mark in the field. But now, the system of marking has changed. It is about how many crores you can make. That is my mark now. So, it is not about quality; it isn't about how well I write my exam... they just look at my collections." Art vs. Commercial Hegemony The actor-politician expressed his struggle with the current "hegemony" of the film business, which prioritizes commercial viability over artistic provocation. He noted that while he cares about excellence, the industry is focused on the end result reduced to money. "The end result of my idea of art should be to make uncomfortable people comfortable with my art and to make very comfortable people very uncomfortable," the veteran star explained. On The Work Front Despite his critique of the box office-centric culture, Kamal Haasan continues to be one of the biggest crowd-pullers in Indian cinema. Following the success of Thug Life, his upcoming lineup remains massive: KH237: An action project directed by the duo Anbarivu. Kalki 2898 AD Part 2: Returning as the antagonist Yaskin. KHxRK Reunion: A collaboration with Rajinikanth, slated for early 2026. Stay tuned to Sacnilk for more updates on Cinema and Box Office.

Dhurandhar 2 Advance Booking: Can Ranveer Singh Challenge Avengers:Endgame and Jawan in the Top 5 All-Time List?

BY CHRISTA LINCY

The Indian box office has entered a state of absolute mania. Following the high-octane trailer launch of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, the advance bookings have opened to a response that trade analysts are calling historic. With the film selling tickets worth Rs 4 crore in just 2 hours, the industry is now calculating if Aditya Dhar's directorial can break into the elite Top 5 list of highest advance bookings at national cinema chains (PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis). While this elite list has historically been the exclusive playground of global event films, the unprecedented velocity of Dhurandhar 2's advance sales suggests a total takeover is imminent. The benchmarks once set by Hollywood titans and Indian legends are no longer just distant targets—they are milestones that the Ranveer Singh-starrer is currently on track to effortlessly shatter as it marches toward an all-time record. Endgame sold more than 15 lakh (1.5 million) tickets across India in total advance sales, with nearly 10 lakh coming from national chains alone. It eyed an opening of Rs 50+ crore and managed a staggering Rs 35+ crore from advance collections alone. Similarly, Spider-Man: No Way Home set a massive pace, selling more than 1.5 lakh tickets in INOX properties alone within a short window. In its first 24 hours, the big daddies—PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis—combined to sell more than 2.4 lakh tickets. This is the level of momentum Dhurandhar 2 is currently competing against. While the Hollywood giants had a massive head start, Dhurandhar 2 is trending on a different trajectory. It has already sold 35,000 tickets in national chains immediately after the trailer launch and is trending on BookMyShow with 7,500 to 10,000 tickets sold per hour. Analysts suggest that the film is comfortably on track to hit 1 lakh ticket sales in just 24 hours purely through organic demand, a feat that would put it on par with the early momentum of Jawan and Pathaan.

Dhurandhar 2 Advance Booking: Ranveer Singh Starrer Creates History With Rs 4 Crore In 2 Hours; Trending On BMS With 7.5K Tickets Per Hour

BY SACNILK TEAM

The highly anticipated sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, has triggered an unprecedented box office storm. Immediately following the trailer launch on Saturday morning, advance bookings for the film and its paid previews were opened to the public. In a historic feat, the film sold tickets worth Rs 4 crore nationwide in just under two hours. Of this total, Rs 2.50 crore was generated from the top three national chains (PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis), with nearly 35,000 tickets sold in those chains alone. Trade analysts, including Taran Adarsh, report that the film is currently on a rampage, trending on BookMyShow with over 7.5k to 10k tickets being sold every hour. Industry experts predict that Dhurandhar 2 is on track to become the first Indian film to organically cross 1 lakh ticket sales within its first 24 hours of booking, without the influence of corporate or fan-club blocks. This massive surge in demand has led national cinema chains to introduce a new premium pricing category called Super Blockbuster Plus, with ticket prices in high-end Delhi-NCR multiplexes reportedly reaching Rs 2500 for preview screenings. As he speaks, the camera cuts to Madhavan, whose screen is filled with a saturated red hue—symbolizing his blood boiling and hinting at the slow-burning revenge he is about to embark on.This red imagery effectively evokes the intensity of the 26/11 sequence from the first film. While the first film ended with glimpses of Hamza's recruitment, Dhurandhar 2 promises to fully explore the backstory of Jaskirat Singh Rangi (Ranveer's real identity). The trailer shows a poignant moment of Jaskirat crying, possibly after a personal loss, which sets the stage for his recruitment by Madhavan as a R&AW agent. This deeply personal conflict ties into cross-border terrorism, eventually unleashing Jaskirat's beast mode as he infiltrates Pakistan's terror networks to become the ruthless Hamza Ali Mazari. The global response further solidifies the film's Super Blockbuster status. According to trade reports from Venky Box Office, Dhurandhar 2 is witnessing a massive response in the North American market. With 12 days still left until the premieres, the film has already collected $400,112 in premiere advance sales across 542 locations. The opening day advance bookings in the USA have already hit $565,000, while the total first-weekend advance sales have already touched the $1 million mark. With the film aiming for a Rs 100 crore opening day, Dhurandhar 2 is poised to redefine box office benchmarks for Indian cinema. The Aditya Dhar directorial is scheduled for a worldwide release on March 19, 2026.

BY SACNILK TEAM

Mumbai, March 7 – The much-awaited trailer of Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge has finally been released, and it promises a bigger, darker, and more explosive chapter in the blockbuster spy-action franchise led by Ranveer Singh. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the sequel raises the stakes as Singh's character returns with vengeance, ready to take down enemies across borders. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The trailer showcases Ranveer Singh reprising his role as Jaskirat Singh Rangi, a R&AW agent who operates undercover as the feared gangster Hamza in Pakistan's Lyari region. Picking up from the events of the first film, Hamza now controls Lyari but faces even deadlier threats as he moves deeper into the mission of dismantling terror networks. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Packed with high-octane action, intense confrontations, and larger-than-life visuals, the trailer highlights Ranveer in what many are calling his most ferocious avatar yet. Box Office: Tough Competition For Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar 2 In Telugu States, But Tougher For Ustaad Bhagat Singh

BY SUNIT JANGIR

Hyderabad, March 7 – The Ranveer Singh-fronted Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge is gearing up for a massive theatrical release on March 19, coinciding with major festivals including Eid and Ugadi. However, the spy action thriller will face a significant challenge in the Telugu states due to the arrival of Pawan Kalyan's highly anticipated action entertainer Ustaad Bhagat Singh. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Originally scheduled for March 26, Ustaad Bhagat Singh was rescheduled to March 19 following the postponement of Yash's Toxic due to the military conflict in the Middle East. The move has set up a direct box office clash between the Telugu mass entertainer and the Bollywood sequel across India, particularly in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, where Pawan Kalyan enjoys enormous popularity. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) While Dhurandhar 2 is expected to perform strongly nationwide due to the success of its first part and its multi-language release strategy, the Telugu states could prove to be a tough market. The sequel is releasing in five languages, including Telugu, but competing against a local superstar-led film in the region will make screen allocation and audience pull more challenging. However, the competition may actually be tougher for Ustaad Bhagat Singh. Despite Pawan Kalyan's strong fan base in the Telugu states, Dhurandhar 2 carries significant pan-India appeal and strong pre-release buzz. Trade believes Dhurandhar 2's massive demand in Telugu states could attract urban multiplex audiences and neutral viewers there, especially if word-of-mouth turns positive. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) In addition, Dhurandhar 2 is expected to benefit from its large-scale action spectacle and franchise value after the first film's success, while its makers are reportedly planning paid premiere shows on March 18 to build early momentum. It is said that Ustaad Bhagat Singh is going for a ticket hike, and considering that, the Telugu media is cautioning the makers against it as they feel it will benefit Dhurandhar: The Revenge even more among the neutral audience. With both films targeting the same festive window, the March 19 weekend is shaping up to be one of the biggest box office clashes of 2026. The Telugu states will likely see intense competition between the two titles, but the real test will be how each film sustains its run after the opening weekend. Stay tuned...

Dhurandhar 2: Will Ranveer Singh's Sher-e-Baloch anthem recreate the viral magic of Akshaye Khanna's FA9LA?

BY CHRISTA LINCY

Following the viral success of Akshaye Khanna's Arabic-themed track FA9LA from the 2025 hit Dhurandhar, anticipation for the musical landscape of the sequel has been high. According to a recent report by Mid-day, filmmaker Aditya Dhar has already prepared a significant musical sequence for Dhurandhar: The Revenge, featuring leading man Ranveer Singh in a pivotal character moment. The Ascension of Hamza The upcoming track is set to mark a major narrative shift in the sequel. While Akshaye Khanna's character, Rehman Dakait, held the title of Sher-e-Baloch in the first installment, the sequel will witness Ranveer Singh's character, Hamza, ascending to the position. The song is designed as a celebration of Hamza being declared the new Sher-e-Baloch following the events of the first film. Interestingly, the report suggests that Aditya Dhar utilized a back-to-back filming schedule to maintain production efficiency. Both Khanna's FA9LA and Ranveer Singh's upcoming number were reportedly filmed on the same set in Ladakh. Given the grueling climatic conditions of the region, the production team opted to shoot the sequences just a day apart to avoid the logistical challenges of returning to the high-altitude location later. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({})   While Ranveer Singh is known for his high-energy dance performances, this particular number is expected to follow a different creative direction. Sources indicate that while the song is choreographed by Vijay Ganguly and features background dancers, Singh's character will remain true to his gritty persona. Unlike the flamboyant Rehman Dakait, Hamza is portrayed as a serious, quiet, and aggressive individual driven by a personal mission. Consequently, the sequence will focus on his presence during the celebration rather than a traditional shake a leg routine, ensuring the character's intensity remains intact. Dhurandhar: The Revenge continues the high-stakes narrative established in the first film, with Aditya Dhar aiming to balance commercial musical elements with the franchise's established grounded tone In addition to the musical buzz, the film is making significant waves at the international box office. According to Venky Box Office, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is witnessing a massive response in the USA. With 12 days still left until the premieres, the film has already collected $400,112 in premiere advance sales across 542 locations and 947 shows, with 24,676 tickets sold. The opening day advance bookings have already hit $565K, while the total advance sales for the first weekend have touched the $1 million mark, signaling a massive start for the Ranveer Singh-starrer in the North American market.

Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar 2 To Have Paid Previews On March 18

BY SUNIT JANGIR

Mumbai, March 6 - The wait for the trailer of the most-anticipated Indian movie at the moment, Dhurandhar 2, is about to end after makers officially confirmed the trailer will release on March 7, just two weeks ahead of the worldwide theatrical release. The buzz for Aditya Dhar's directorial is second to none, with sky-high expectations among the trade. As the momentum continues to build for the grand theatrical release, it is now revealed that the makers are set to have paid previews on March 18. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) In anticipation that the movie will take a historic start at the ticket window, it is said that the team is planning an aggressive start at the box office with paid preview shows scheduled to begin on March 18 from 5 PM onwards in India, according to Pinkvilla. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) As reported earlier, the advance bookings for the film will commence immediately after the trailer launch, which itself is remarkable as pre-sales for Bollywood films normally kick off just a few days or max a week before the release date. The strategy is aimed at capitalising on the massive buzz surrounding the sequel. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The decision to hold paid previews a day before the official release is seen as a move to maximise the opening momentum and create a strong word-of-mouth ahead of the nationwide rollout on March 19. The paid previews are not a regular thing anymore in Bollywood, as only selected films have this luxury in recent times, and Dhurandhar seems to be one of them. With paid previews reportedly, one thing is almost certain: Dhurandhar 2 is set to deliver the biggest opening for a Bollywood film, and if trade reports are to be believed, it will be by a good margin. All eyes are now on the film's release to end the dry spell and keep the box office on fire. Stay tuned...

Dhurandhar: The Revenge: Teasers of Raja Shivaji and Cocktail 2 to be Attached with Ranveer Singh's Actioner

BY CHRISTA LINCY

Jio Studios is reportedly planning a major promotional push for its upcoming slate by attaching highly anticipated teasers to the theatrical prints of Dhurandhar: The Revenge. According to an exclusive report by Pinkvilla, the teasers for Raja Shivaji and Cocktail 2 will be showcased in cinemas alongside the Ranveer Singh-starrer, which is scheduled for a grand release on March 19, 2026. This follows earlier reports that the trailer for Akshay Kumar's Bhooth Bangla is also set to be attached to the film. The decision to feature these teasers alongside Dhurandhar: The Revenge is viewed as a strategic move to leverage the significant audience turnout expected for the Aditya Dhar directorial. As one of the most anticipated films of the year, the spy action-thriller provides a massive platform for Jio Studios to introduce its future projects to a global audience. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({})   Raja Shivaji, a historical epic based on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, is positioned as a landmark project for Marathi cinema. Directed by and starring Riteish Deshmukh in the titular role, the film is a Pan-India production slated for release on May 1, 2026. The ensemble cast includes Abhishek Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Vidya Balan, and Fardeen Khan, with reports also suggesting a guest appearance by Salman Khan. The film will be released in Marathi and Hindi, with dubbed versions in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. Simultaneously, the teaser for Cocktail 2 is expected to be unveiled. Directed by Homi Adajania, the romantic drama features Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles. While the official release date for Cocktail 2 has not yet been confirmed, industry insiders expect the announcement to coincide with the teaser drop during the Eid 2026 period. With the domestic advance bookings for Dhurandhar: The Revenge set to open on March 7, the marketing campaign is expected to intensify, further driving interest in these upcoming theatrical releases.
