Netflix's New Viewership Metrics See Major Changes In Its Top 10 List Across Categories

Mumbai, June 21 - The leading streaming platform, Netflix has made some major changes in its viewership metrics which resulted in some major shakeups in its top 10 most popular titles across categories. ## Netflix will now report in average viewership for its programming as "views", which is hours viewed divided by total runtime. The views will now decide Netflix's top 10 weekly and all-time titles though hours viewed will still be available. The streamer also has expanded the viewership measurement window from 28 days to 91 days. ## The new changes have made "Wednesday" Season 1 the most popular English show of all time on Netflix with 252.1 million views, overtaking "Stranger Things 4's" 140.7 million views. However, in terms of viewing hours, ST4 remains the most-watched English show with 1.83 billion viewing hours, followed by "Wednesday" with 1.71 billion viewing hours.## The global Korean blockbuster series "Squid Game" still remains Netflix's most popular series ever (English or Non-English), even after the shift. It scored 265.2 million views and 2.2 billion viewing hours in the first 91 days. It is the only Netflix series or film to top 2 billion viewing hours of all time. ## Among the most popular films (English or non-English), "Red Notice" remains on the top even after changes with 230.9 million views and 454.2 million viewing hours in 91 days. Among the non-English films, the Norwegian monster film "Troll" remains unchanged with 103 million views and 178.6 million views hours. ## Meanwhile, no Indian film or series features in Netflix's 10 lists even after changes. Marvel Studios' Disney Plus Series 'Moon Knight' Is The Most-Watched International Series of 2022 In India: Ormax Media

Mumbai, July 26 - Marvel Studios' Disney Plus shows dominated the Indian market in the first half of 2022 as far as the international shows are concerned. Ormax Media, which tracks viewership data for the Indian and international streaming titles in India, has released the list of most-watched shows in the first half of 2022 in India. ## The Oscar Isaac-fronted Marvel superhero series Moon Knight scored the highest viewership among the international shows in India in the first half of 2022. The 6-episode series scored 23.4 million views since its debut on March 30. The first episode of the series was released on March 30 on Disney+Hotstar and it ended with the 6th episode on May 4. ## The second most-viewed international show in India also belonged to Marvel/Disney+ in the form of Iman Vellani-headed Ms. Marvel. It scored 16.7 million views till June 30th, after debuting on June 8. "Ms. Marvel" is the highest-rated MCU title (films or shows) on Rotten Tomatoes of all time with a 98% critics score. ## Meanwhile, Netflix's global smash hit Stranger Things season 4, which is the most-watched English show on Netflix of all time, remained the 3rd most-viewed international show in India with 15.8 million views. Season 4 of this sci-fi horror series was released in two parts - the first part of 7 episodes debuted on May 27 while the remaining two episodes in part 2 were released on July 1st.## Since Ormax Media has measured viewership data till June 30th, it is clear that the final two episodes of "Stranger Things 4" were not considered, otherwise, it would have easily topped "Ms. Marvel" to become the second most international show in India. Mumbai, July 6 - Netflix has its second billion hours watched show as Stranger Things 4 has surpassed this rare milestone after the final two episodes.## The final two episodes dropped on July 1st as a part of Volume 2 of "Stranger Things 4" helped the show to pull in another 301.2 million viewing hours last week, including approx. 220 million watched hours of episodes 8 & 9. The total watched hours of this sci-fi horror drama series has now reached 1.15 billion. ## "Stranger Things 4" is the most-watched only show on Netflix and the second most for any language. Season 4 of this science fiction horror drama series has already become the most-watched English series on Netflix with over 930 million viewing hours. ## According to Nielsen, "Stranger Things" scored 7.2 billion viewing minutes for the week of May 30-June 5, which is the highest weekly total for any streaming title since the advent of weekly rankings almost two years ago. ## Nielsen counts all episodes of a series in totaling its streaming rankings, but it is certain that the majority of the 7.2 billion minutes of "Stranger Things" came from the seven episodes of season four released on May 27. ## "Stranger Things" series also has the biggest two-week tally for any streaming show with 12.34 billion viewing minutes. It was watched for 5.14 billion (including more than 75% from S4) minutes in the week of May 23 - May 29.
