IMDb Unveils Top 10 Most Popular Indian Movies (Streaming) of 2023

Mumbai, November 30 - The second instalment of the anthology film Lust Stories has been the most popular Indian streaming film of 2023 so far, as per the IMDb rating which is determined by the page views on the website. The movies on the list are the ones released between the period of January 1 - November 6. ## Lust Stories 2, which was released on June 29, scored 18.5 million viewing hours in the first three weeks on Netflix. Even though the numbers are lower than many films released this year on Netflix, the film attracted audience attention due to its solid casting and content. ## Kareena Kapoor's Jaane Jaan is the second most popular Indian streaming movie of the year. It was a big success for Netflix and in the first three weeks, it scored 38 million viewing hours. Directed by Sujoy Ghosh, it is the crime investigation thriller which marked Kareena's OTT debut. ## The third most popular streaming movie of the year is Sidharth Malhotra and Rashmika Mandanna's spy actioner Mission Majnu, which is again a Netflix movie. The movie was originally announced for the theatrical release before makers changed their plans to release it directly on OTT. ## Amazon Prime Video's Bawaal starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor is the 4th most popular Indian streaming title. Just like "Mission Majnu", this Nitesh Tiwari's directorial was also meant for theatrical release but was made available on Prime Video. Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films Unveils The List of Its 15 Upcoming Films

Mumbai, June 20 - Producer Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films scored a box office hit out of nowhere with Vicky Kushal and Sara Ali Khan's "Zara Hatke Zara Bachke" which is getting close to 100 crores gross worldwide. The studio also has success in the digital space. ## Known for producing content-driven cinema, Maddock Films has now unveiled the list of its 15 upcoming films. Sunny Kaushal and Parineeti Chopra To Lead The Sequel To 'Shiddat'

Mumbai, April 13 - The sequel to Sunny Kaushal, and Radhika Madan-fronted romantic drama Shiddat is reportedly in development with Parineeti Chopra as the leading lady opposite Kaushal. ## Directed by Kunal Deshmukh, Shiddat was released in October 2021 on Disney+Hotstar and got an appreciation for its story, songs, and performances. The film was well-received the sequel was imminent which has now been announced. ## Shiddat 2 will be produced by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films and T-Series in association with Jio Studios and it will be released in 2024. It is not yet confirmed if it will be a direct-to-digital release or will have an exclusive theatrical release first. ## It is also not confirmed if Radhika Madan as well as Mohit Raina and Diana Penty will be a part of the sequel or not. Mumbai, April 7 - Yami Gautam and Sunny Kaushal's heist thriller film Chor'Nikal Ke Bhaga has turned out to be a big hit for Netflix. ## Directed by Ajay Singh, the film is creating waves worldwide, trending in 10 in 61 countries. It garnered 29 million viewing hours globally in the first two weeks of its launch which is the highest ever for an Indian title on Netflix. ## After debuting at number 3 with 11.7 million viewing hours in the first weekend for non-English films, "Chor'Nikal Ke Bhaga" scored 17.3 million viewing hours during the second week (March 27 - April 2) and was the second most-watched non-English film on Netflix. ## SS Rajamouli's global sensation, RRR (Hindi) had scored 25.54 million viewing hours in the first two weeks and is now the second most watched Indian title at the same time. Nushrratt Bharuccha Roped To Play Leading Lady Bellamkonda Sreenivas' Hindi Debut Film Chatrapathi!

Mumbai, September 18, 2021: Telugu actor Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas marks his Hindi debut with the remake of Prabhas starrer Telugu movie Chatrapathi. The shooting of the film has already started in July with the principal cast without the leading lady. ## While many Bollywood actresses were approached to play the female lead in the film, it has now been revealed that Nushrratt Bharuccha is finalized for the role in Bellamkonda Sreenivas's Hindi debut movie Chhatrapathi. She will reprise the role played by Shriya Saran in the original, directed by SS Rajamouli. ## It is said that to bring Nushrratt on board for the film, makers paid a healthy amount to her to star in this action entertainer film. Apart from the leading pair, Sahil Vaid, Shivam Patil, Amit Nair, and Rajendra Gupta among others also star in pivotal roles. ## Produced by Jyantilal Gada of Pen Studios, Chhatrapati revolves around a young man who's in search of his family. Yami Gautam And Sunny Kaushal To Star In Amar Kaushik's Thriller Film - Chor Nikal Ke Bhaaga

Mumbai, August 11, 2021: Filmmaker Amar Kaushik's thriller project, Chor Nikal Ke Bhaaga, which was supposed to take off in 2017 with John Abraham and Rajkummar Rao and producers Prerna Arora and Arjun N Kapoor, has reportedly been revived with a new cast and team. ## According to Peepingmoon.com, Sunny Kaushal and Yami Gautam have been finalized to play the lead in this reanimated version of the film that has been written by Siraj Ahmed who recently wrote Srijit Mukherji's short film in Netflix anthology Ray starring Ali Fazal and Shweta Basu Prasad. ## Amar Kaushik, however, will reportadly not be directing Chor Nikal Ke Bhaaga anymore, instead, he will work as a creative producer on this film while the directorial duty has been given to Ajay Singh, better known as Ajax. Kaushik is collaborating with producer Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films to back this thriller based on a diamond heist. ## Interestingly, both Yami Gautam and Sunny Kaushal are already working on revived projects after they were earlier shelved due to various reasons. Ganesh Venkatram makes his Bollywood Debut with 'Guns Of Banaras'

Mumbai, March 2 (IANS) South actor Ganesh Venkatram has worked with veterans like Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Mohanlal and Nagarjun in over 20 films across Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam languages. This week, 'Guns Of Banaras' marked Ganesh Venkatrams Bollywood debut, as villain of the film. ## The film directed by Shekkhar Suri also features Karan Nath, Nathalia Kaur, Abhimanyu Singh, Zarina Wahab and Shilpa Shirodkar. ## "I am forever indebted to directors down South to have appreciated my talent and effort.
