Makers Keeping Short Theatrical Window For 'Pushpa - The Rise' Despite Strong Box Office Outcome

Hyderabad, January 4 - Allu Arjun's "Pushpa - The Rise" is going all guns blazing at the box office. The Pan-India film has become one of the biggest box office success stories of 2021 despite many challenges. Not only in the original Telugu language, but the action-thriller is also doing wonders in Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam dubbed verions. ## Directed by Sukumar, the movie has shattered many box office records during the covid-19 pandemic has so far grossed over Rs. 270 crores worldwide. It is still reporting Housefull shows at most of the centers, which indicates its wide acceptance by the audiences across the nation. ## "Pushpa - The Rise" box office juggernaut might not continue in the coming days, as the makers are planning to drop the movie on OTT real soon. According to the latest reports, "Pushpa - The Rise" will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on January 7, only after just 21 days of its theatrical release. This is shockingly a shorter window for a box office monster as most of the other films are keeping at least 4 weeks' theatrical window. ## The reports suggest that makers had inked a 3-week theatrical window deal with Amazon Prime Video and they are keeping it despite knowing the box office outcome. Interestingly, the "Pushpa" Hindi version is performing stronger in the 3rd week than the first two weeks at the box office. Box Office 2021: Tollywood Dethrone Bollywood To Emerge The Indian Box Office King

Hyderabad, January 4 - The Telugu cinema, for the first time in many many years, had had a bigger impact on the Indian box office than the mighty Bollywood, which has ruled the Indian biz over the years. The lack of Bollywood content helped the second largest film industry of India, Tollywood to keep the show running in 2021. ## In 2021, there were a total of 471 (+) films released in theaters in India. The theatrical releases in 2021 generated approx Rs. 3200 crores gross in India, approx +60% than 2020. Marvel/Sony's superhero film "Spider-Man: No Way Home" emerged as the biggest grosser of 2021 in India with Rs. 240 crores, followed by Akshay Kumar's "Sooryavanshi" with Rs. 230.8 crores. ## However, it was the Telugu film industry, which dominated the Indian box office biz. In 2021, a total of 175 (+) Telugu titles were released in theaters and generated Rs. 1070 crores gross, including the Telugu versions of other films, in India. Allu Arjun's "Pushpa - The Rise" led the Telugu biz with a gross collection of Rs. 150 crores in 2021 in India. Pawan Kalyan's "Vakeel Saab" was the second biggest Telugu title with Rs. 127 crores. ## It was not all doom and gloom for the Hindi cinema. The largest film industry in the country, Bollywood found some life towards the end of 2021, when "Sooryavanshi" was released along with Hindi dubbed titles of "Pusha - The Rise", and "Spider-Man: No Way Home". "Sooryavanshi" emerged as the biggest Bollywood hit since Ajay Devgn's "Tanjaji" in January 2020. The Rohit Shetty-directed grossed Rs. 230.8 crores in India, and was the biggest Indian title of 2021 at the worldwide box office with Rs. 293 crores. ## Last year, a total of 55 films (+) were released in Hindi, including dubbed versions, and grossed approx Rs. 760 crores in India, making the Hindi version the second largest after Telugu to contribute to the Indian box office. Tamil, which saw a mega-hit in the form of Thalapathy Vijay's "Master", was the third biggest in terms of box office contributor in Indian in 2021. ## The Tamil version saw as many as 93 titles (+), which generated approx Rs. 700 crore gross in 2021 in India. "Master" along with Rajinikanth's "Annaatthe" were the two Tamil films that grossed over Rs. 100 crores in India alone. Sivakarthikeyan's "Doctor" was the third biggest Tamil title of 2021. It grossed Rs. 100.50 crores worldwide, including Rs. 80.50 crores at the Indian box office (both Tamil and Telugu versions). ## The Kannada film industry too had something to show in its CV in 2021. There were 77 films (+) released in the Kannada language and grossed Rs. 244 crores in India. Darshan's "Roberrt" was the biggest Kannada title with a gross total of Rs. 69.50 crores. The Malayalam film industry has had a dismal show in 2021, in which most of the Malayalam films took direct-to-digital routes via various OTT platforms. RRR Makers Face Loss of Rs 18 Crore on Promotions After Covid Delays Release

Hyderabad, Jan 4, 2022: With the arrival of the omicron variant of COVID-19 in the country, it seems cinemas may have to close down once again. The recent development is not good news for the makers of the Telugu film RRR. ## Directed by SS Rajamouli, RRR stars Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt, and Ajay Devgn. The movie was scheduled to release on January 7, however, the surge in coronavirus cases across the country and the subsequent restrictions have compelled the makers to postpone the movie indefinitely. ## According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, nearly Rs 18 to 20 crores were invested for the promotions of Rajamouli’s much-awaited magnum opus. Hyderabad, January 2 - Allu Arjun's "Pushpa - The Rise" becomes the first Indian film since Allu Arjun's own film "Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo" (2020) to reach Rs. 200 crores net. Chiranjeevi set to release update on 'Bholaa Shankar'

Hyderabad, Dec 31 (IANS) The makers of Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi's upcoming movie 'Bhola Shankar' have made an announcement regarding the release of an exciting update on the film. ## The makers have announced the release of 'Swag of Bholaa' on Saturday, though it is not known yet if the makers plan to release a poster or a teaser of the film. ## "Get Ready to Celebrate New Year in a Massive Way: A MEGA EUPHORICA Update Loading," the makers wrote on their Twitter timeline. ## Helmed by Meher Ramesh, 'Bholaa Shankar' is currently under making. Being the Telugu remake of Tamil blockbuster 'Vedhalam', the anticipation is high. ## Tamannah Bhatia will be seen as the female lead opposite Chiranjeevi, while 'Mahanati' fame Keerthy Suresh will play Chiranjeevi's sister in 'Bholaa Shankar'. ## Anil Sunkara's AK Entertainments and Creative Commercials are the producers of the film. ## Chiranjeevi has a handful of movies now, of which 'Acharya' has been wrapped up and is all set for release soon. ## The actor is also shooting for 'Godfather', besides having a couple of more projects up his sleeve. ## Stay tuned.

'Pushpa' makers release a scene that was deleted from the original film

Hyderabad, Dec 31 (IANS) Allu Arjun basks in the success of his latest film 'Pushpa: The Rise'. The makers on Friday released a deleted scene from the movie, which has become quite popular on social media. ## The deleted scene released by the 'Pushpa' team has Allu Arjun's mass scene, which would have appealed well to the native Telugu audience. ## In the particular scene, Allu Arjun's mother is seen getting scolded by her money-lender for not being able to clear off the debt. ## Allu Arjun, who gets deeply offended by this act, returns the borrowed money, as he demands the person to inform everyone in the village about his loan clearance. He does this to avenge the humiliation caused by their money-lender. ## Allu Arjun is seen thrashing the person, taking him around the village. ## This particular scene was chopped off in editing, so as to accommodate for limited run-time in the original print of 'Pushpa: The Rise'. Allu Arjun's Pushpa: The Rise Crosses 250 Cr Worldwide Collections

Hyderabad, Dec 31, 2021: The Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa: The Rise has crossed 250 Cr worldwide collections at the box office and became only 2nd film of this year after Akshay Kumar's Sooryavanshi to reach this milestone. Earlier on Diwali - Rohit Shetty directorial Sooryavanshi was the first film to cross 250 Cr worldwide business this year. Pushpa has survived and how! There was a lot of competition in the form of Spider-Man: No Way Home and 83, which took a major chunk of multiplex audience. Then in the Telugu belt, Nani’s Shyam Singha Roy affected the film a bit. Apart from this, the rise in omicron cases was another hurdle. Despite these all, the film has managed to pull off a good total in week two. The total worldwide collections of Pushpa: The Rise at the moment is 252.5 Cr and there is a strong run going for the film in its Hindi version which might help the film to cross even the figures of Sooryavanshi which is the number one worldwide grosser at the moment with 293 Cr collections. The makers unleashed the look on the occasion of New Year's eve and introduced the star as an underdog who emerges from the slums.## Vijay kicks off, as the champion of Mixed Martial Arts. The first glimpse of 'Liger' begins with an MMA commentator introducing Vijay as "The boy from India, the slumdog from the streets of Mumbai, and the chaiwala..Liger".## Also, the clip hints at the backdrop of 'Liger', Vijay, who is introduced as the 'chai wala'. In the video, the 32-year-old actor is seen walking on the streets of Mumbai, along with his mother, played by actress Ramya Krishnan.## With a couple of impactful dialogues, Vijay creates much appeal to his introduction in the video. He says: "Vaat lagaa denge", his character is established as an angry young man. Allu Arjun's 'Pushpa - The Rise' Rewarded More Screens After Blockbuster Run In Hindi

Mumbai, December 31 - Telugu movie "Pushpa - The Rise", starring superstar Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, is going strong at the box office. Allu Arjun Leads South Indian Cinema During Pandemic Years With Two Back-To-Back HGOTY

Hyderabad, December 30 - Telugu superstar Allu Arjun's "Pushpa - The Rise", co-starring Rashmika Mandanna, is turning out to be another successful affair at the box office for him. The action-thriller, directed by Sukumar, is nearing Rs. 200 crores net at the Indian box office, set to become the first Indian film in 2021 to achieve the feat.## "Pushpa - The Rise" marks Allu Arjun's maiden Pan-India film. Apart from Telugu, the first of the two-part film also released in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam languages. It has so far grossed approx 77 crores in languages other than Telugu.
