Box Office: 'Dunki' Opening Day Early Estimates
Mumbai, December 21 - Superstar Shah Rukh Khan and director Rajkumar Hirani's maiden film Dunki takes a good start at the domestic box office, considering the mid-week release and genre that is not frontloaded or mass-friendly early on. ## The film scored an estimated around 30 crores net collection on its opening day which is slightly lower than the projection. The performance of the film in mass belt is not up to the mark of SRK's previous films but that was always going to happen with its social dramedy content. ## Dunki performs well in Hyderabad where SRK's last couple of films did amazingly so the buzz for his next was there among the moviegoers. The likes of Rajasthan, UP, Delhi, and West Bengal come out well for the movie on the opening day whereas Gujarat remains low just like it was for SRK's last two films. ## Rajkumar Hirani's films have always been about longevity rather than the big fate openings as the biggest opening for him was Sanju with around 34 crores. Dunki has taken a good start with a good initial word of mouth by its side, the film should get the benefit of a long holiday period during the Christmas and New Year. ## Stay tuned...
