Sunny Deol's Gadar 3 To Be Set Immediately After The Events of Gadar 2: Report

Mumbai, February 6 - It was recently reported that Zee Studios greenlit Gadar 3, following the historic blockbuster success of its predecessor. Sunny Deol will be returning to play the lead role of Tara Singh along with director Anil Sharma. ## Gadar 2: The Katha Continues, which grossed close to 700 crores worldwide, was set 20 years after the events of the first film which was released in 2001. However, the third instalment won't have a huge time gap, according to a report in Bollywood Hungama. ## It is said that Gadar 3 will be set immediately after the events of the second film or it'll be set a few years after the incidents in the sequel, but there won't be a huge jump in the timeline. The makers reportedly believe that it wouldn't look logical to keep another 20 year of gap considering Sunny's age. ## The report further revealed that the makers had 4 ideas to take Gadar's story forward and they finally locked one for which the script work is on. Apart from Sunny Deol, Sakina (Ameesha Patel) and Jeete (Utkarsh Sharma), will also be a part of the third part. They, too, more or less, will play the same age as they did in Gadar 2.## Gadar 3 is expected to go on floors in the second half of 2025 and it will release in 2026. Sunny Deol-Led 'Gadar 3' Officially In Development At Zee Studios

Mumbai, January 19 - Sunny Deol as Tara Singh will be returning for the third round after Zee Studios reportedly green-lit the threequel to the mega-blockbuster period action drama franchise, Gadar. It all began in 2021 when Sunny Deol and director Anil Sharma teamed up for "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha" which went on to become the biggest Indian blockbuster of that time. ## 22 years later, the team of Gadar reunited for its sequel, "Gadar 2: The Katha Continues" and scripted history with it. The movie went on to gross close to 700 crores at the worldwide box office and became one of the biggest blockbusters of all time. The mega success of Gadar 2 ensured that there would be the third film in the series and it is happening. ## Though it was already reported that director Anil Sharma trying the crack the idea Gadar 3, and according to Pinkvilla, the filmmaker has finally locked the basic idea and Zee Studios has green-lit the same. It is said that the first round of paperwork has been done between Zee Studios, Anil Sharma, and Sunny Deol. ## The franchise has been set against the backdrop of the Indo-Pak conflict and Gadar 3 will follow the same though the stakes will be higher than before. "A lot of writing will happen to develop the idea, but the team has got the direction of where the story of Tara Singh, Sakina, and Jeete heads from here on", the report says. ## Director Anil Sharma has himself confirmed the development and said that he would start working on the Gadar 3 script after completing his upcoming film featuring his son Utkarsh Sharma and Nana Patekar. The film is expected to go on floors in the second half of 2025. ## Sunny Deol, meanwhile, recently concluded the shooting for his next titled "Safar". Mumbai, September 28 - Sunny Deol-fronted period action drama film Gadar 2: The Katha Continues has crossed the lifetime net collection of Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan and becomes the highest net-grossing film ever in the Hindi language, according to producer Zee Studios. ## Directed by Anil Sharma, the mega-blockbuster sequel to 2001's "Gadar: Ek Prem Kathaan" has scored 524.75 crores net collection so far in 48 days, crossing "Pathaan" which scored 524.53 crores net in Hindi earlier this year. The SRK-fronted movie had overall scored 543 crores net which includes approximately 17.50 crores net of Tamil and Telugu versions.## "Gadar 2", however, won't remain the highest-grossing Hindi movie for more than two days as Shah Rukh Khan's latest blockbuster "Jawan" is likely to top both the movies either today or tomorrow to claim the number 1 spot in Hindi. The movie collected 7.8 crores net on its 24th day which took its total net collection to 501.17 crores. Mumbai, August 26 - Sunny Deol-fronted Gadar 2: The Katha Continues has become the 3rd highest-grossing film of all time in the Hindi language at the domestic box office. It has surpassed Yash-starrer KGF: Chapter 2 which scored 435 crores net last year, to claim the 3rd spot.## Gadar 2, on its 3rd Saturday (16 days), reached around 440 crores net collection. It is now behind only Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion (511 crores net) and Pathaan (524 crores net). G2 is expected to reach 500 crores net mark by 4th week to become only the 3rd film ever in Hindi to do so.## At the same point in time (16 days), G2 is ahead of SS Rajamouli's directorial BB2 (415.05 crores net) and is behind Pathaan (442.50 crores net), but only just.
