'Venom: Let There Be Carnage' Beats 'Venom' At The Domestic Box Office After Re-Release

Los Angeles, January 24 - Tom Hardy-fronted "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" is putting strong legs at the domestic box office, even after it was made available on PVOD services in late November 2021. ## The superhero movie, directed by Andy Serkis, was re-released second last weekend in the domestic (North America) market. The Marvel/ Sony film grossed an additional $175k in its second weekend of re-release and 17th overall, lifting its overall domestic cume to an estimated $213.5 million.## After its latest box office figure, "Venom 2" has matched the total cume of 2018's "Venom" movie at the domestic box office and will cross it anytime now. "Venom 2" was already the 3rd highest domestic grosser of the covid-19 pandemic era, and now, with crossing "Venom", it has achieved another milestone. Not to forget, "Venom" had released in a time when there was no covid. ## At the worldwide box office, "Venom 2" is only the 4th Hollywood title of the pandemic era to cross $500 million, after "Spider-Man: No Way Home", "James Bond - No Time To Die", and "Fast & Furious 9". With nearly $503 million, "Venom 2", however, is way behind "Venom's" global cume of $856 million.## The movie stars Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock/Venom alongside Michelle Williams, Naomie Harris, Reid Scott, Stephen Graham, and Woody Harrelson in prominent roles. In the film, Brock and the alien symbiote Venom must face serial killer Cletus Kasady (Harrelson) after he becomes the host of an offshoot of Venom named Carnage.## Interestingly, the next "Venom" movie could be the ultimate decider as it might introduce the face-off between Spider-Man and Venom. The post-credit scenes of both movies also indicate the face-off between these two comic book archnemesis. ## Stay tuned...

Venom Set To Fight Spider-Man In The Multiversal 'Venom 3'!

Mumbai, December 29 - Marvel/Sony's "Spider-Man: No Way Home", which introduces the multiverse concept in the MCU, has opened up many possibilities and crossovers in future MCU projects. The fans, however, are eagerly waiting for a crossover of two archenemies, Venom, and Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. ## Since Venom isn't an official part of the MCU, the two marvel comic book characters haven't come face-to-face in the films. ICYDK, the Venom symbiote's first human host was Spider-Man himself, who eventually discovered its true nefarious nature and separated himself from the creature, as per the comic book series, "The Amazing Spider-Man" (1984). ## However, it looks like the wait will end soon, and the fans will finally get to see Venom fighting Spider-Man. As per the latest reports, "Venom 3" will explore the multiverse which will lead Venom and Spider-Man to take on each other. The much-awaited crossover was also hinted at in the end credit scenes of "Spider-Man: No Way Home", and "Venom: Let There Be Carnage".## According to CBR, an industry scooper Daniel Richtman revealed that Venom 3 will "explore the multiverse" as well as show "Venom finally meeting and fighting Spider-Man." Part of the genesis for this theory was the end-credits scene of Spider-Man: No Way Home, which saw a dimensionally displaced Eddie Brock trying to understand the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. ## Meanwhile, Andrew Garfield, who marked his comeback as Spider-Man in "No Way Home", will reportedly fight Venom in "Venom 3". The 3rd part of Venom was recently confirmed by producer Amy Pascal. Andy Serkis, who directed Venom: Let There Be Carnage, has expressed interest in returning to wrap up the trilogy, stating, "I have a few ideas of my own, but I certainly wouldn't be bold enough to put them out there right now." He added that a confrontation with Spider-Man was something of an inevitability. ## Stay tuned...

Sony Announces Two New Untitled Marvel Movies In 2023

Mumbai, October 23 - Sony Pictures is expanding its Marvel Universe and announced two new untitled Marvel films for the 2023 release. While the studio already has "Kraven the Hunter" for January 2023, it has also added release dates for unannounced projects on June 23, 2023, and October 6, 2023. ## While it is unclear when Sony intends to reveal what movies will fill those dates, fans have already started speculating that one of the two could be the third film in the Venom series. If the speculations are on spot, then the sequel to "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" might fill October 2023 release date as both Venom movies thus far have had October release dates. ## The third "Venom" movie is a no-brainer that it is going to be made in a live-action franchise featuring characters from the Spider-Man family, after "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" is going strong at the box worldwide. However, it will come out in October 2023, remains a secret yet. The June 2023 release date again remains the secret, and again the speculations are that it could be filled with the 4th Spidy movie in the MCU (pure rumors). ## Meanwhile, Sony has pushed Columbia Pictures' "A Journal for Jordan" to Dec. 25 of this year. The film was previously slated to premiere in New York and Los Angeles on Dec. 10 before getting a wide release on Dec. 22. Additionally, TriStar Pictures' The Nightingale, previously scheduled for release on Dec. 23, 2022, has now been delayed indefinitely.## On the other hand, Sony/Marvel's "Spider-Man: No Way Home" is scheduled to release on December 17, 2021, and "Morbius" is slated for January 28, 2022. After the two new Sony/Marvel movies in 2023, Marvel will now have 7 films slated to release in the year. ## Stay tuned...

Venom 2 Director Andy Serkis Confirms Future Crossover With Tom Holland's Spider-Man

Los Angeles, September 15, 2021: Sony Pictures' "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" is all set to debut in theaters in the next couple of weeks and fans will get to watch two of Spider-Man's most legendary villains go toe to toe. However, despite being connected with each other, at least in Comic books, Venom 2 won't feature Spider-Man. ## The fact that Sony has built a new Spider-Man movie franchise with Marvel Studios as well as a Venom movie franchise under its own roof. This may look like that a Spider-Man and a Venom crossover can happen anytime, like all the marvel movies. But this isn't that easy as again, the fact, Venom isn't an official part of the "Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)" like Spider-Man. ## Because Venom isn't a part of MCU despite being connected to Spider-Man, has kept fans guessing whether or not there will be an official crossover between Tom Holland's Spider-Man and Tom Hardy's Venom. Well, it is not happening anytime soon but a future crossover is definitely on the cards, as Venom director Andy Serkis said. ## In a new interview, "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" director Andy Serkis addresses the question of a Spider-Man and Venom crossover and confirms that yes it will happen, but "when" is the question. "Look, that's the question on everyone's lips", Serkis told IGN (via comicbook). "They want to know if Venom is gonna meet Spider-Man, but personally, it's never gonna happen. I'm only joking, of course, it's gonna happen". ## While a Spider-Man and a Venom crossover is inevitable, Andy Serkis adds the important contextual note that to reach that stage, the most-awaited crossover, one will have to wait because by rushing to get there, fans could miss out on the potentially richer journey in between. ## "Look, it depends when you want to get there, and also, what the appetite is", Serkis explains. "If people want more Venom stories, then, to jump straight to Spider-Man, you could be missing out on so many great supervillain characters in between now and then. So, in a way, by rushing to it, you might be closing the door", he added. ## Meanwhile, Sony already has a lot of moving parts to the SSU - "Sony's Spider-Man Universe" with "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" and "Spider-Man: No Way Home" scheduled to hit theaters this year apart from Jared Leto's "Morbius" will follow early next year, and "Kraven The Hunter" is set for 2023. ## Stay tuned...
