Suriya, Vetrimaaran's 'Vaadivaasal' to Begin Filming in June 2025; Music Work Begins

Chennai, March 7 - Award-winning Tamil director Vetrimaaran's much-awaited film Vaadivaasal, starring Suriya, is finally set to begin shooting soon. The film was announced a few years ago, and a test shoot with Suriya was already conducted in 2023. However, the project faced delays due to the director's other films. ## In a recent interview, the director revealed that pre-production work has been done in London. Now, the music composer, G.V. Prakash Kumar has shared an exciting update on the song composition that has started for the movie. ## The latest media reports suggest that the filming of Vaadivaasal will start in June this year. This is said to be a 3-part project with each part to be shot after a gap. Suriya's 'Vaadivaasal' With Director Vetrimaaran To Be Made In Three Parts: Report

Chennai, December 31 - Tamil star Suriya and director Vetrimaaran announced their maiden collaboration together a few years back in the form of Vaadivaasal. The movie should have kick-started and been released by now but due to Vetri's commitment to Viduthalai films, it faced multiple delays. ## The continued delays in the production of Vaadivaasal led to disappointment among the fans and there were rumours that it might get dropped. However, the project is on and it might start rolling in 2025 since Viduthalai films are done releasing. ## According to the latest Tamil media reports, Vaadivaasal may also go Viduthalai way as it is said that Vetrimaaran is planning to make it in three parts. Box Office: 'UI', 'Marco', And 'Viduthalai Part - 2' Opening Day Early Estimates

Bengaluru, December 20 - Amid Pushpa 2 - The Rule's rampage at the box office, the new pre-Christmas 2024 weekend Indian releases are off to a good start. Director Vetrimaaran's Viduthalai Part - 2, Upendra's UI, and Malayalam title Marco among others hit the screens on December 20. ## Viduthalai Part 2 was the biggest opener among the new Indian titles and it has opened almost double the first movie. According to the early estimates, the crime thriller grossed an estimated 8 crores, including around 6.50 crores in Tamil Nadu on its opening day.## Kannada star and director Upendra's dystopian science fictional action UI has exceeded expectations and taken the biggest opening of 2024 for a Kannada title. Per estimates, the film has grossed in the range of 7.50-8 crores, which includes around 80 lakh in the Telugu version, on its first day.## The Malayalam A-rated action thriller, Marco starring Unni Mukundan, is another film of the day which performed well above expectations. Touted as the most violent Mollywood title ever, the movie scored an estimated 5 crores gross on its first day. ## The word of mouth for all three aforementioned films is superb which should lead them to a very good holiday week. Meanwhile, there was one more big Hollywood film released in the form of Disney's Mufasa - The Lion King, in the voices dubbed by superstars like Shah Rukh Khan (Hindi) and Mahesh Babu (Telugu). ## The animated adventure film performed very well on its first day in India, scoring an estimated 9-10 crores net collection in all versions. Suriya Confirms 'Rolex' As Standalone Movie With Director Lokesh Kanagraj

Chennai, June 27 - Tamil director Vetrimaaran's highly-awaited film "Vaadivaasal" with superstar Suriya has been in the news ever since it was announced a long time back. However, even after so much time passed since the announcement, the movie hasn't rolled out yet. ## The film was announced a few years back and a test shoot with Suriya also happened several months back. It was supposed to go on floors in 2022 but due to Vetrimaaran's "Viduthalai", the shoot got delayed. One More Film Set Against The Backdrop of KGF Is In The Works

Chennai, May 2 - The Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) has inspired South Indian filmmakers to make larger-than-life films against its backdrop. ## Yash-fronted "KGF" is already a record-breaking film franchise and there is Chiyaan Vikram-starrer "Thangalaan" is currently in the making, based on the true events that revolve around the lives of mine workers in the Kolar Gold Fields.## Now, Tamil director Vetrimaaran is reportedly working on a story set against the KGF backdrop and is likely to reunite with Dhanush for the same. The duo has already worked together on some of the most critically hailed films like Polladhavan, Aadukalam, Vada Chennai, and Asuran. ## Producer KE Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green, producer of "Thangalaan", has reportedly confirmed a new KGF-based film with Vetrimaaran and Dhanush (according to indiaherald.com). "On the basis of his historical research and results, he (Vetrimaaran) will create a movie. And based on the study he conducted, Pa Ranjith completed Thangalaan, according to Gnanavel. ## The movie in question, however, is unlikely to start anytime soon as Vetrimaaran already has a couple of films in the pipeline. He will be finishing "Viduthalai - Part 2" before moving to the long-awaited "Vaadivasal" with Suriya. Chennai, March 29 - The acclaimed National award-winning Tamil director Vetrimaaran is gearing up to release the first part of his long-awaited period crime thriller film "Viduthalai" on March 31st in theaters worldwide. ## The maverick filmmaker will team up with actor Suriya for the highly-anticipated film "Vaadivasal" after completing "Viduthalai Part 2" which will release later this year. Once the director wraps up his current commitments, he is likely to team up with Thalapathy Vijay for what could be a watershed moment in Tamil cinema. ## Vetrimaaran said in one of the interviews previously that Thalapathy Vijay was ready to collaborate with him once he finishes his current projects. Now, director and actor Thamizh, who is a vital part of Viduthalai has reportedly confirmed this eagerly-awaited collaboration of Thalapathy and Vetrimaaran. ## During a recent interaction with a leading channel, Thamizh said, "I hear that Vijay's film with Vetrimaaran is confirmed. Vijay gave a nod to the line narrated by Vetrimaaran sir. I have no idea about the Vetrimaaran-Kamal project".## Though the project is seemingly confirmed, it may take a long time before getting started. Vetrimaaran is keen to start "Vada Chennai 2" after Suriya's "Vaadivasal". Thalapathy Vijay, on the other hand, is currently shooting for Lokesh Kanagaraj's "Leo" and will next reunite with director Atlee for Thalapathy 68. ## Stay tuned...
