A New 'Wonder Woman' Movie Officially In Development

Los Angeles, June 11 - A new feature film about the DC superhero Wonder Woman is officially in development, according to the CEO of DC Studios, James Gunn. The movie would be in addition to an HBO series about Wonder Woman's home of Themyscira. ## During an interview with Entertainment Weekly (EW), James Gunn said that they are working on Wonder Woman, which is currently being written. According to Variety, the new film would be a fresh start for the superhero character, and it is unlikely to bring Gal Gadot, who has played Diana Prince/Wonder Woman. ## Gadot has played this iconic character in 2017's "Wonder Woman" and "Justice League," 2020's "Wonder Woman 1984," 2021's "Zack Snyder's Justice League," and in a cameo in 2023's "The Flash." ## There are several DC Films that are said to be in development at the studio, and a few of them have already been greenlit. The first, "Superman," opens in July this year, starring David Corenswet as the Man of Steel. The second, "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow," starring Milly Alcock, opens in June 2026. The third, "Clayface" — a horror film about the titular Batman villain — is set to debut in September 2026. ## James Gunn also revealed that he's planning another movie about Superman, which may or may not be the sequel to the upcoming movie. ## Stay tuned...

Henry Cavill And Gal Gadot Cameos Reportedly Scrapped From DC's 'The Flash'

Los Angeles, December 18 - It looks like Warner Bros. is ending its former DC Extended Universe (DCEU) to make way for the new DC Universe being created by DC Studios Co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran. ## The studio under the new CEOs is taking harsh calls to shape up its DC future for at least the next 8-10 years. James Gunn recently confirmed that Henry Cavill wouldn't be returning as Superman while the reports have also claimed that Warner Bros. has scrapped the 3rd installment of Gal Gadot's "Wonder Woman 3". ## Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the cameos of Cavill as Superman and Gadot as Wonder Woman have also been scrapped in the upcoming 2023 superhero movie "The Flash" as the studio chose to not go forward with director Patty Jenkins' version of "Wonder Woman 3". ## It is said that Cavill had already shot his cameo but since he is not returning as Superman in the already announced "Man of Steal 2", his cameo no longer makes sense hence it has been cut in Ezra Millar's "The Flash", which is scheduled to release in June next year.## With Jason Momoa potentially leaving Aquaman behind to play Lobo and Patty Jenkins' version of Wonder Woman 3 no longer moving forward, it seems as though the DC Extended Universe that started with 2013's Man of Steel is coming to a close.## Stay tuned...

James Gunn Responds To 'Wonder Woman 3' Cancellation And Other DC Movies' Changes

Los Angeles, December 9 - Filmmaker James Gunn, the new DC Studios co-head, has responded to the chaotic reports about the cancellation of Gal Gadot's "Wonder Woman 3", and other DC movie changes, as far as the future of DC is concerned. ## It was reported yesterday by The Hollywood Reporter that Warner Bros., under the leadership of James Gunn and Peter Safran, is not moving ahead with the next Wonder Woman movie as the studio was not happy with the script presented by Patty Jenkins. ## Apart from the "Woman Women 3" news, it was also reported that the newly announced Henry Cavill may or may not reprise Superman while the upcoming "Aquaman 2" may be the swan song for Jason Momoa as the studio is not willing to take the franchise forward. ## Responding to the reports, James Gunn took to Twitter and said that "some of it is true, some of it half-true, some of it is not true, and some of it we haven't decided yet whether it's true or not". Gunn and Safran have been appointed to shape up the next 8-10 years of DC studio and the former said that it will take some time to build the franchise. ## As far as "Wonder Woman 3" is concerned, Deadline reports that writer-director Jenkins was given another chance to re-develop the story as the top Warner Bros. motion pictures brass were concerned about character arcs and payoffs, and the threequel emulating similar structural problems ala "Wonder Woman 1984", but Jenkins wasn't ready. The studio, however, still wants Gal Gadot to play Wonder Woman, but it is not yet sure she would do it without Jenkins at the helm.## Gunn continues and said that there will be hard steps taken, and by doing this, they will not able to please everyone. He says "Peter & I chose to helm DC Studios knowing we were coming into a fractious environment, both in the stories being told & in the audience itself & there would be an unavoidable transitional period as we moved into telling a cohesive story across film, TV, animation, and gaming".## "We know we are not going to make every single person happy every step of the way, but we can promise everything we do is done in the service of the STORY & in the service of the DC CHARACTERS we know you cherish and we have cherished our whole lives", Gunn says.## The filmmaker goes on to say that all the DC characters and their stories will be given enough time and attention they deserve. "As for more answers about the future of the DCU, I will sadly have to ask you to wait. We are giving these characters & the stories the time & attention they deserve & we ourselves still have a lot more questions to ask & answer". ## Although this first month at DC has been fruitful, building the next ten years of story takes time & we’re still just beginning.— James Gunn (@JamesGunn) December 8, 2022 ## But, in the end, the drawbacks of that transitional period were dwarfed by the creative possibilities & the opportunity to build upon what has worked in DC so far & to help rectify what has not.— James Gunn (@JamesGunn) December 8, 2022 ## As for more answers about the future of the DCU, I will sadly have to ask you to wait. Gal Gadot's 'Wonder Woman 3' Put On Hold Indefinitely

Los Angeles, December 8 - Warner Bros. seems to be clueless or maybe thinking too far ahead to shape up its DCEU future. The studio is moving on from its established superheroes and is on the cusp of a new era as far as the DC movies are concerned. ## The Warner Bros. Discovery CEO, David Zaslav recently roped filmmakers James Gunn and Peter Safran to shape up DC's future for the next 8 to 10 years, and now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, one of the first and big moves by the studio is that it is scrapping the planned 3rd installment of Gal Gadot-fronted "Wonder Woman". ## The report says that Patty Jenkins' "Wonder Woman 3" is not moving forward and is considered dead in its current incarnation. It is said that Jenkins recently submitted her treatment, co-written with Geoff Johns and that Gunn and Safran, as well as Warner Bros. Pictures co-chairs and co-CEOs Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy, broke the news to the filmmaker, telling her the project — as it stood — did not fit in with the new plans. ## Jenkins directed and co-wrote the previous two "Wonder Woman" movies, starring Gal Gadot and released in 2017 and 2020. While the 3rd movie has been put on hold indefinitely, no decision has been made about next steps regarding its future.## Possibly clueless about this unfortunate development, Gal Gadot recently took to Twitter and shared that she couldn't wait to share the next chapter of "Wonder Woman" with fans while thanking the audiences for the love showered on the first two movies. ## Stay tuned...

Gal Gadot To Return As Wonder Woman In DCEU's 'Shazam! Fury Of The Gods'!

Los Angeles, December 18 - A sequel to DC's 2019 hit, Shazam!, is currently under development, titled, Shazam! Fury Of The Gods, for 2023 release. It is one of the most exciting upcoming films within the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), which includes films like The Batman, Black Adam, The Flash, and Aquaman: The Lost Kingdom, scheduled to hit theaters in 2022. ## "Shazam", meanwhile, is considered as one of the best and most beloved films within DCEU, and one of the reasons for that is the last shot of the film, where Billy powers up and joins Freddy for lunch as promised, however, he ends up bringing along a friend, Superman, who wasn't actually Henry Cavill suited up. ## It was earlier reported that the Shazam sequel would feature a trio of villainous sisters as adversaries to the titular hero. Then it was revealed that Helen Mirren will be playing the oldest sister, Hespera daughter of Atlas, along with Lucy Liu, and Rachel Zegler. Lucy Liu playing Kalypso who is the second daughter of Atlas, while Zegler will be playing the mysterious third daughter.## And now, according to Illuminerdi, Gal Gadot will be making her presence in the highly-anticipated sequel as Wonder Woman. ## Wonder Woman making a cameo appearance in Shazam! Fury Of The Gods makes sense. It looks like Shazam and the Shazam Fam will be taking on three daughters of Atlas, which could have some connection to Shazam possessing the stamina of Atlas. Wonder Woman herself is entwined with the Old Gods being the daughter of Zeus, king of the old gods.## There is a possibility that Gal Gadot's cameo role as Wonder Woman in the Shazam sequel could set up the stage for the third film in the Wonder Woman franchise, which is currently in the scripting stage and likely to go on floors in 2023. ## Shazam: Fury of The Gods is currently set to release in theaters on June 2, 2023.## Stay tuned...

Wonder Woman 3: Gal Gadot Provides Positive Update On The DC Film
