Mumbai, May 29 - Kannada superstar Yash has begun filming for epic Ramayana, being directed by Nitesh Tiwari. The actor is playing the role of Raavan alongside Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, and Sunny Deol as Bajrang Bali. ## The mega-budgeted two-part epic has roped in a celebrated Hollywood stunt director, Guy Norris, to choreograph action sequences. Norris had previously designed action sequences of "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga," "Mad Max: Fury Road," and "The Suicide Squad," among others. ## Norris is currently in India working closely with Yash to craft set pieces that could redefine Indian cinema's approach to large-scale spectacle. A couple of pictures of Norris with Yash leaked online, in which the duo seems to be discussing the action scenes. ## Ramayana is produced by Yash's Monster Mind Creations and Namit Malhotra's Prime Focus Studios. Bengaluru, April 14 - The biggest blockbuster from the Kannada film industry KGF: Chapter 2 starring superstar Yash and directed by Prashanth Neel, was released on this day (April 14) three years ago, and the rest is history. ## The action drama set the box office on fire upon its release and went on to become the highest-grossing Kannada film of all time with a worldwide collection of over 1200 crores. It is miles ahead of the rest of the Kannada titles and an uphill task for the industry to achieve. ## Produced by Hombale Films, KGF: Chapter 2 is the second part of KGF (2018), but it wasn't the end of the series, as the makers promised the third part in the post-credit scene of part 2. Over the last 3 years, the makers have reiterated their commitment to bring the next chapter, and they have reconfirmed the same again on the third anniversary. ## On Monday, Hombale Films shared over a 2-minute-long trailer-type celebratory video featuring the blockbuster moments of KGF 2 and at the end of it, the studio has promised to come up with KGF: Chapter 3 soon. There are no other details about the next film that have been revealed yet. ## The makers had earlier promised to start the third installment in 2025, but the delay was always on the cards, given the other commitments of both Yash and director Neel. While Yash is currently working on Toxic and Ramayana, Neel is directing superstar Jr. NTR-fronted Dragon, and all 3 films will hit the big screens in 2026. Bengaluru, February 24 - Kannada superstar Yash has teamed up with national-award-winning director Geethu Mohandas for a gangster action drama film Toxic – A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups. The movie has been in production since last year with plans to release in 2025. ## Recently, it was reported that Toxic would be a bilingual film and now, it has been confirmed the same. After the record-breaking success of KGF 2, Yash's popularity has soared beyond the borders, and considering that Toxic is being aimed at a global audience. ## It has been confirmed that Toxic is being simultaneously shot in the English and Kannada languages, making it the first major Kannada title to do this. Mumbai, February 22 - Superstar Yash has commenced the filming of director Nitesh Tiwari's magnum opus Ramayana, also starring Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi in the leading roles. The Kannada superstar is playing the role of Ravan / Lankesh in this mega-budged epic. ## According to the reports, Yash has landed in Mumbai and has already commenced shooting for his part yesterday (February 21) after two days of costume trials. It is said that the actor will shoot some of the crucial war scenes at Aksa Beach in Mumbai. Later, the makers will move to a studio in Dahisar for further shooting.## The war scenes of the film will be mounted on a huge scale. It will be shot both with the green screen and on the ground and will involve heavy VFX. Ranbir Kapoor, who plays the role of Lord Ram, is not shooting in this schedule as this is not a Ram-Ravana face-off. Mumbai, December 21 - The Indian box office once again is set to be on fire in December 2025 as superstar Yash-fronted gangster action drama Toxic is more or less confirmed to hit the big screen during the month. There is James Cameron's Avatar 3 already slated to release. ## Toxic, directed by National Award-winning director Geethu Mohandas, is currently on floors. It was originally announced for an April 2025 release but due to the delay in production, the film was pushed back. According to the latest report by Pinkvilla, the makers are now aiming to release it in December while the exact date will be locked soon. ## Yash who has also produced the film with KVN Productions, is reportedly in talks with 20th Century Fox for overseas distribution. "The discussions are in very nascent stages but the intent is to make Toxic a global project. Mumbai, December 10 - Director Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana is the biggest Indian movie in the making. The 2-part epic has officially been confirmed to be headlined by Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi and Goddess Sita and Yash as Lankesh. ## Bollywood star Sunny Deol, who had long been rumoured to be part of this epic as Lord Hanuman, has officially confirmed himself on board. At the third edition of SCREEN Live in Mumbai, Sunny revealed he is part of the project and shared some insights into it.## The Gadar 2 star lauded and hyped the vision of the makers of Ramayana which he believes is going to be a great film. "Ramayana is a long project because they're trying to make it the way Avatar and Planet of the Apes movies were made. The writer and director are very clear about the way it has to be and how the characters should be presented", Sunny said, per Indian Express.## The visual effects of Ramayana are being done by, who is also one of the producers with Yash, Namit Malhotra's Oscar-winning studio DNEG, and according to Sunny, the CGI will give the impression of complete genuinelity. ## "You will also get to see the special effects that will make you believe that it (the events unfolding) has very genuinely happened rather than making one feel that these are special effects.
