Box Office: 'Sankranthiki Vasthunam' Emerges A Big Blockbuster; Tops 100 Crore Gross Worldwide

Hyderabad, January 18 - Staying true to its title, Venkatesh Daggubati's action comedy Sankranthiki Vasthunam has emerged as a Sankranthi winner, heading towards becoming a big blockbuster at the worldwide box office. Anil Ravipudi directs the movie which marks his reunion with Venky after F2 and F3.## Released on the day of Sankranthi (January 14), the movie faced competition from Ram Charan's Game Changer and Balakrishna's Daaku Maharaaj. However, both the other movies stood no chance in the front of box office carnage of Sankranthiki Vasthunam which emerged as the number 1 choice of the moviegoers from day 1. ## The movie scored approximately 27 crore gross in India and around 35 crores worldwide upon its Tuesday opening day, making it the biggest opener of Venkatesh. Thanks to the positive word of mouth, it showed a remarkable hold in the following days and in just 4 days, the film crossed 100 crores at the worldwide box office. ## Sankranthiki Vasthunam has grossed approximately 105 crores worldwide, including approximately 90 crores gross in India and 15 crores at the overseas box office. Mumbai, January 13 - Telugu veteran Nandamuri Balakrishna's action drama Daaku Maharaaj exceeded expectations on its first to score over 30 crores gross at the domestic box office, proving to be the second biggest opener for the actor. ## On the second day, the film is seeing a good hold as early estimates suggest the collection in the range of 13-15 crores gross in Telugu states, dropping around 50% from Sunday. Overall, Daaku Maharaj is expected to score 15-17 crores gross collection on Monday. ## Daaku Maharaj's total domestic collection after 2 days is around 45+ crores gross, which is fantastic ahead of the long holiday Pongal period. Hyderabad, January 12 - Superstar Ram Charan's political action drama Game Changer has an underwhelming first weekend at the domestic box office where the movie failed to score any growth on Sunday owing to stiff competition and mixed to negative word of mouth. ## According to the early estimates, Game Changer has minted a disappointing around 8 crore gross in Telugu states on Sunday, dropping around 35% from Saturday. In other Southern states, the movie has scored an estimated 3 crore gross. ## The Hindi version is holding well, owing to the better audience reception, and is proving to be the only saving grace for the movie so far. Hyderabad, January 11 - Telugu superstar Ram Charan's political action drama Game Changer, which was released on January 10, took a good start at the domestic box office with over 60 crores gross considering the mixed word of mouth, though it failed to meet the expectations. ## On its second day (first Saturday), the Shankar's directorial venture is witnessing a drop of over 50% which is a bit harsh even by the standards of any big Telugu film which tend to drop after the opening day. The word-of-mouth effect can be seen in day 2's collection, especially in South Indian states. ## According to the early estimates, GC is expected to gross around 13-15 crores in Telugu states, dropping over 60% from the opening day. In Karnataka, the film also dropped by around 50% for an estimated 2.25 crores gross, while in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, it is expected to gross around 2-2.25 crores on the second day. ## The Hindi version of the film surprised on the first day and it remained the best-performing on Saturday with little to no drop as it minted around 7-7.50 crores net on day 2. Box Office: 'Game Changer' Opening Day Early Estimates

Hyderabad, January 10 - Telugu superstar Ram Charan's political action drama Game Changer has taken a good opening at the domestic box office and surprises in the Hindi version with a better-than-expected start.## The movie scored decent pre-sales and the star power of Ram Charan and his combination with director Shankar made sure it converted to a good start, especially in Telugu states. Despite the mixed reception, the film managed to take the biggest solo opening for RC in all major areas. ## According to the early estimates, Game Changer is expected to gross around 45-50 crores in Telugu states which is a very good start. The previous biggest solo opening of RC in AP/TG was Vinaya Vidheya Rama which grossed around 33 crores back in 2019. ## In Karnataka, GC is estimated to gross 4-5 crores, followed by around 2.50 crores gross in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Hyderabad, January 9 - Telugu superstar Ram Charan teamed up with maverick director S. Shankar for the first time for a political action thriller Game Changer. Produced by Dil Raju, the movie also stars Kiara Advani and SJ Suryah in prominent roles. ## Game Changer is one of the most anticipated movies, and as expected, it has scored fantastic pre-release theatrical business in all major areas. According to the trade report, the Game Changer theatrical business in Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana) has been valued at 122 crore. ## The 122 crore AP-TG business includes approximately 43 crores in the Nizam area. Hyderabad, December 23 - Pushpa 2 has a fantastic third weekend with close to 100 crores gross and also topped 1500 crores gross collection at the worldwide box office, becoming only the third Indian movie of all time to achieve the feat. ## At the end of the third weekend, the Allu Arjun-fronted action drama has scored approximately 1506 crores gross, including around 1267 crores gross collection at the Indian box office. 'Pushpa 2' Emerges Number 1 Film On Book My Show

Hyderabad, December 23 - Superstar Allu Arjun's mega box office blockbuster Pushpa 2 - The Rule has emerged as the number-one film in the history of the online ticketing portal, Book My Show in terms of tickets sold. ## In just 17 days, the action drama film has sold 18+ million (1.80+ crores) tickets, beating Yash-fronted KGF: Chapter 2 which sold around 17.10+ million tickets during its lifetime run. SS Rajamouli and Prabhas' Baahubali 2 reportedly sold around 16 million tickets which is the third highest ever. ## Overall, Pushpa 2 has sold more than 50 million (5 crores) tickets in 17 days and has become the most-watched movie in India post the Covid-19 pandemic. KGF: Chapter 2 had also sold 50+ million tickets and these two are the only films to achieve the feat since the health crisis. ## Meanwhile, the film is set to cross 1500 crores gross at the worldwide box office in just 18 days and is already the third highest-grossing Indian movie after Baahubali 2 (1790 crores gross approx.) and Dangal (2070 crores gross approx.). Prashanth Neel Opens Up On 'Salaar - Ceasefire' Box Office Performance; Calls 'Salaar 2' His One of The Best Works

Bengaluru, December 22 - It has been a year since Prabhas-fronted action drama Salaar Part 1 - Ceasefire was released in theatres. Directed by Prashanth Neel, the film was one of the highest-grossing Indian titles in 2023 with over 600 crores gross, however, the director expected. ## In a special interview with Kairam Vaashi on the occasion of Salaar's first anniversary, Prashanth Neel opened up about the film's box office performance. It is worth noting that it was Neel's first movie since the mega-blockbuster KGF: Chapter 2 and his combination with Prabhas was expected to set the box office on fire. ## While Salaar emerged as a box office success, Neel expressed his disappointment and said that he was not completely happy with the performance as he expected more since a lot of hard work was put into it. However, the maverick filmmaker is super confident on Salaar 2 which is scheduled to hit the big screens in 2026. ## "I decided to make Salaar2 into one of my best movies. The writing I have put into the film has been probably one of my best works. I'm going to make it more than I can imagine and more than the audience can imagine. It is something that unquestionably will be one of my best works", Neel said. ## Meanwhile, Neel will next team up with superstar Jr. NTR for action drama, slated to go on floors early next year. After wrapping up NTR's film, the director will resume work on Salaar 2 which has been confirmed to be released in 2026. 'Pushpa 2' Tops 5 Crore Footfalls In India

Hyderabad, December 21 - Mythri Movie Makers' action drama Pushpa 2 - The Rule has topped 5 crore footfalls at the Indian box office in 17 days, becoming the second movie after Yash-fronted KGF: Chapter 2 to achieve the feat post the Covid-19 pandemic. ## The movie has been selling over 1 million tickets almost every day since its release on December 5. On its second Saturday (17th day), it has topped 50 million admissions in India and is set to beat KGF 2 which sold approximately 5.10 crore tickets in its lifetime run in all versions. ## The Hindi version of Pushpa 2 has alone generated 3+ crores of footfalls, followed by the original Telugu version (1.50 crores) while Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada versions have sold 50+ lakh tickets so far. It has become the second Telugu movie after Baahubali 2 to sell 5+ crores of tickets in India. ## Overall, the Allu Arjun-starrer is the 15th Indian movie ever to score 5 crores or more footfalls and it is likely to finish among the top 10 movies of all time at the end of its box office run. Hyderabad, December 21 - Superstar Allu Arjun holds a press meeting to respond to the allegations made against him by the Chief Minister of Telangana, Revanth Reddy in the Sandhya Theatre Stampede which occurred during the premiere of Pushpa 2 - The Rule on December 4. ## On December 21, Reveanth Reddy made serious allegations against the actor and tried to character-assassinate him by calling his actions inhuman. Mr Reddy had alleged that even after the incident of the stampede happened, the actor didn't leave the theatre despite knowing about the death of a woman. ## The CM also said that even on the way back, Allu Arjun was waving his hands towards the crowd from the roof of the car. Denying the allegations, Allu Arjun said to the press that there is a lot of misinformation and character assassination against him. ## The actor said that no police came to the theatre to tell him about the woman's death. Telangana CM Puts Serious Allegations On Superstar Allu Arjun In Sandhya Theater Stampede Case

Hyderabad, December 21 - Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy fired heavy shots on superstar Allu Arjun in the recent Sandhya Theater Stampede case in which a woman died while her son got severely injured. The actor has been facing legal trial in the case and even was arrested a few days ago before getting interim bail by the High Court. ## The incident occurred on December 4 when Allu Arjun went to watch the premiere of his blockbuster film Pushpa 2 - The Rule in Sandhya Theater in Hyderabad. Due to the heavy rush of his fans, the stampede happened which claimed a precious life. The incident was discussed in the Assembly on Saturday (December 21). ## During his speech, CM Reventh Reddy lambasted the actor and the film fraternity for their inhuman attitude towards the victims. Putting serious allegations on Allu Arjun, the CM said that the actor was denied permission to visit the theatre, and despite that, he watched the film amid a massive crowd. ## Mr Reddy also alleged that even after the incident of the stampede happened, the actor didn't leave the theatre until the DCP came and forcibly put him in the car and even warned him of immediate arrest knowing the seriousness of the case.## "Even on the way back", Reddy said that "He (Allu Arjun) was waving his hands towards the crowd from the roof of the car". The CM questioned the inhuman side of the actor as well as other film fraternity people as none of them responded to the death of the woman in Stampede. ## The CM further said what kind of message the film fraternity was giving when they went to meet Allu Arjun one by one after he came out of jail.
