Black Widow Star Scarlett Johansson To Receive Generation Award At MTV Movie & TV Awards
Los Angeles, May 12, 2021: MTV has announced that Black Widow star Scarlett Johansson will be honored with the Generation Award during the 2021 MTV Movie & TV Awards. ## Recipients of the award in the past have included the likes of Robert Downey Jr., Tom Cruise, Reese Witherspoon, Will Smith, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Jim Carrey, Adam Sandler, Sandra Bullock, Mark Wahlberg, Jamie Foxx, Ben Stiller, Chris Pratt, Mike Myers, Johnny Depp, and the “Fast & Furious” film franchise.## According to MTV, the Generation Award celebrates beloved actors whose diverse contributions to both film and television have turned them into household names. ## Johansson has been nominated at the MTV Movie & TV Awards six times before, and she took home a Golden Popcorn in 2013 for the Best Fight in "The Avengers". She previously received nominations for best female breakthrough performance for "Lost in Translation", best kiss for "Don Jon", "Captain America: The Winter Soldier", best female performance for "Lucy", and best fight for "Avengers: Infinity War". ## This year, Marvel Studios' first Disney Plus superhero series "WandaVision" received the most nominations. It earned five nominations in total, including best show, while "Emily In Paris" and "The Boys" have four nominations. "Bridgerton", "The Mandalorian", and "Borat Subsequent Moviefilm" have three nominations. MTV also announced that Sacha Baron Cohen will receive the Comedic Genius Award for his actions in "Borat Subsequent Moviefilm".## Leslie Jones will host this year's MTV Movie & TV Awards, which will air live from Los Angeles on Sunday, May 16 at 9 p.m. ET.## Stay tuned...
