Hrithik Roshan's 'Koi Mil Gaya' Re-Release Opening Weekend Box Office Collection
Mumbai, August 7 - In 2003, Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan reunited with his father Rakesh Roshan for a science-fiction movie "Koi... Mil Gaya". It emerged as a box office success and went on to earn a cult status over the years. ## In 2023, "Koi... Mil Gaya" completes 20 years of its release, and to celebrate the occasion, the makers teamed up with PVR Inox to re-release the film on August 4 across 30 cities. The magic of the movie remained intact as it recorded housefull shows at some centers. ## The limited re-release of "Koi Mil Gaya" scored approx. 20 lakh gross in its opening weekend with a total of approx. 225 shows. On its opening day of re-release, "Koi Mil Gaya" grossed approx. 3.50 lakh, followed by approx. 6 lakh on Saturday, and approx. 10 lakh on Sunday. ## Earlier this year in June, Sunny Deol's Gadar: Ek Prem Katha was also re-released and grossed solid 1.30 crores in the opening weekend. However, that was a much bigger release than "Koi Mil Gaya", and considering that, the latter has done well on the weekend.## In its original run in 2003, "Koi Mil Gaya" had grossed approx. 80 crores at the worldwide box office, including approx. 10 crores overseas collection. The success of the movie inspired the makers to turn it into a superhero franchise. In 2006, "Krrish" (Krrish 2) was released and became a big hit, before "Krrish 3" was released in 2013 and scored a huge approx. 375 crores worldwide.## Directed by Rakesh Roshan, "Koi Mil Gaya" is produced by Rakesh Roshan's FilmKraft Production. It features Hrithik Roshan, Preity Zinta, and Rekha in prominent roles alongside Johnny Lever, Rajat Bedi, Prem Chopra, and child artists Hansika Motwani, and Anuj Pandit Sharma as well as an alien named Jadoo in pivotal roles. ## Stay tuned...
