Box Office: 'Housefull 5' Scores A Good First Week; Nears 200 Crore Gross Worldwide

Mumbai, June 13 - Superstar Akshay Kumar's comedy entertainer Housefull 5 has completed the first week of its theatrical run, grossing close to 200 crores at the worldwide box office. ## Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, the 5th instalment of the hit franchise has grossed approximately 152 crores (127 crores net) at the domestic box office, while its overseas collection is estimated at 43 crores, for a worldwide total of around 195 crores in 7 days. ## Housefull 5 has become the third highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2025, behind Salman Khan's Sikandar, which grossed around 185 crores. Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava is currently the biggest grosser with around 808 crores, followed by Ajay Devgn's Raid 2 (236 crores). ## The latest hit is the highest-grossing film of Akshay Kumar since August 2023, when OMG 2 grossed approximately 222 crores. Aamir Khan Opts For Strategic Release of 'Sitaare Zameen Par'

Mumbai, June 11 - Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is opting for a strategic release of his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par, which debuts on the big screen on June 20. The film is the spiritual successor to Khan's 2007 film Taare Zameen Par. ## Sitaare Zameen Par has been in the news for all the right reasons. It has already been confirmed that the movie won't be released on any OTT platform after its theatrical release, a decision which is being enjoyed by exhibitors. ## According to the report by Pinkvilla, Aamir, along with his national distributing partner, PVR-Inox, has decided to give a platform release to Sitaare Zameen Par, which is basically to increase the shows on a real-time basis throughout the day. It is a one of its kind strategy to release the film. ## It is said that Aamir Khan is super confident of the film, but he is also well aware of the change in audience dynamics post the Covid-19 pandemic. Keeping this in mind, the makers have reportedly decided to release the film on around 1200 screens nationwide on the opening day. ## The idea is to add more screens based on audience word of mouth. "The release will be more concentrated towards the high-performing cinema halls in the respective areas, before slowly transitioning to the mass belts on demand", says the report. ## The good thing is that no one knows when the film will be available on home media since Aamir has decided not to release it on OTT, and this gives the makers enough time to implement their release strategy. Mumbai, June 10 - After the solid hold on Monday, Akshay Kumar-fronted Housefull 5 continues to score well and scored another double-digit collection on its first Tuesday. It was a discounted day, and the drop was well within the expected range. ## According to early estimates, the comedy entertainer scored 10.50-11.50 crores net collection on Tuesday/the 5th day, pushing total collection to around 111 crores. The film, which was originally supposed to be titled Aashiqui 3, features Sreeleela as the female lead, also marking her Bollywood debut. ## The film was announced earlier this year with a Diwali 2025 release date. However, according to the latest report by The Hollywood Reporter India, the love story is set to be delayed to a new date, possibly to 2026. ## It is said that Anurag Basu has completed 40% of the total shoot of the film after it went on floors in March this year. Kartik, meanwhile, recently started filming for Dharma Productions' "Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri," while Basu is also busy in the post-production of his next, "Metro... 'Mad Max' Stunt Director Joins Ranbir Kapoor, Yash's 'Ramayana'

Mumbai, May 29 - Kannada superstar Yash has begun filming for epic Ramayana, being directed by Nitesh Tiwari. The actor is playing the role of Raavan alongside Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, and Sunny Deol as Bajrang Bali. ## The mega-budgeted two-part epic has roped in a celebrated Hollywood stunt director, Guy Norris, to choreograph action sequences. Norris had previously designed action sequences of "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga," "Mad Max: Fury Road," and "The Suicide Squad," among others. ## Norris is currently in India working closely with Yash to craft set pieces that could redefine Indian cinema's approach to large-scale spectacle. It will be Mehta's first directorial since Akshay Kumar-fronted Selfiee (2023). ## According to the report by Pinkvilla, the film has been titled Lag Jaa Gale. It is said that Mehta has been working on the script for a while and wanted to have a first-time pairing on board.
