Hollywood Filmmaker Timur Bekmambetov Partners With Reliance Entertainment And Graphic India To Bring Screenlife Concept To Hindi Films

Hollywood filmmaker Timur Bekmambetov has partnered with Reliance Entertainment and Sharad Devarajan's Graphic India to produce a slate of Hindi films. Timur will bring his Screenlife filmmaking format to India through Hindi language productions. ## The Russian origin director who is known for films such as "Wanted" (2008), "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" (2012), and "Night Watch" (2004), will develop a slate of original local language films leveraging the Screenlife genre in India with his other two partners. ## In the first phase of the new partnership, Bekmambetov and Sharad Devarajan of Graphic India will be working closely with Reliance Entertainment on the development and production of the three films by up-and-coming Indian filmmakers and storytellers. The first project has been finalized and is expected to go into production early next year.## The Screenlife movie format is one where the story unfolds as seen on the screens of devices such as smartphones and computers. The format made a massive breakthrough in 2015 when Bekmambetov produced "Unfriended". The film grossed $65 million worldwide with a budget of $1 million. UFO Moviez Forays Into Film Distribution, Will Release Films Pan India

UFO Moviez, India's largest digital cinema distribution network and in-cinema advertising platform, has forayed into film distribution now. The board of UFO Moviez India on Monday (21 December 2020) approved the company's foray into the film distribution business. ## UFO Moviez announced its foray into film distribution with an intent to consolidate and position itself as a one-stop pan India film distributor. The company said the endeavor is guided by a three-fold objective model promoting fee-based film distribution, Virtual Print Fee (VPF) as a percentage of box-office revenue instead of an upfront fixed charge, and zero-content risk.## The foray is to ensure films get a wide release under a totally de-risked business model. The company has adopted a fee-based distribution model in which it does not take any financial risk in the content.## To begin with, UFO has announced 11 films it would release all over India from December 25, 2020, to March 31, 2021. Shakeela, which is slated to hit screens on December 25, will be the first film to be released by the company. Besides Richa Chadha and Pankaj Tripathi starrer Shakeela, some of the other films to be released in cinemas by UFO Moviez are Ram Prasad Ki Tehrvi, Aadhar, 12 O'Clock, Dangerous, Disha Encounter, Murder, and Flight.## UFO Moviez has partnered with Jio Studios for the nationwide distribution of their upcoming movies "Ram Prasad ki Tehrvi" and "Aadhar" and with Ram Gopal Varma films for three films - 12 O'Clock, Disha Encounter, and Murder.
