Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan' and Prabhas-Fronted 'Salaar' Theatrical Run Time Revealed

Mumbai, August 16 - The month of August 2024 has proved to be a game changer for Indian cinema as Independence Day week delivered once-in-a-lifetime box office results, led by Sunny Deol's Gadar 2, Rajinikanth's Jailer, and Akshay Kumar's OMG 2. ## The juggernaut of the aforementioned films is expected to continue for the next few weeks before two of the highly-anticipated pan-Indian movies, Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan and Prabhas-fronted Salaar Part One - Ceasefire join the party in the month of September. ## Jawan, which marks SRK's maiden collaboration with Tamil director Atlee, is easily the most hyped Bollywood-origin Pan-Indian movie and it is expected to carry the momentum at the box office. There are still more than three weeks before it storms the big screens all over again.## Meanwhile, the advance booking of the film has commenced in some international markets, including in the USA and UAE. The movie has been certified with a "U/A" certificate with the approved runtime of 2 hours and 49 minutes by CBFC. Earlier, one of the cinemas in UAE listed the movie with 3 hours runtime. It is scheduled to release on September 7 in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages.## Three weeks after Jawan, there will be a hugely anticipated Salaar on September 28. The first-time collaboration of Prabhas and director Prashanth Neel is catching eyeballs and it is easily the biggest Pan-Indian movie of the year. Mumbai, August 14 - The Producers Guild of India and Multiplex Association of India have jointly issued a statement on the historic box office weekend of August 11 to August 13 in India which show collections topping 400 crores gross.## The statement read the August 11-13 weekend proved to be the all-time biggest single weekend in the 100+ years of Indian cinema history in terms of gross box office collection. The same weekend also drew 2.10+ crores in admissions in theaters, which is also the highest combined footfalls in the last 10-year history. ## Shibasish Sarkar, president of GUILD, said in the statement, "Mainstream storytelling executed in the right way has resulted in the box office records being shattered. The turnout at theaters has infused a new energy in our industry, audiences are responding in numbers we have not seen for a long time".## Kamal Gianchandani, president of MAI, added, "It was a historic weekend which proves once again that India loves going to cinemas to see great movies. Rashmika Mandanna was on board to play the female lead in the movie that was supposed to go on floors by August this year. But now, things seem to have changed regarding this much-awaited collaboration.## According to Pinkvilla, Shahid Kapoor and Anees Bazmee have decided to part ways on this project over creative differences. The movie has reportedly been shelved for now but the future course of action will be decided soon. Telugu producer Dil Raju was the producer of the movie.## Shahid Kapoor was supposed to play a double role in the movie, tentatively titled "Ek Saath Do Do" or "Double Trouble". The "Kabir Singh" actor will now be doing Malayalam filmmaker Roshan Andrews-directed thriller movie, titled "Koi Shaq".
