Blockbuster 'Pathaan' Reaches New Box Office Milestones On Its Second Saturday

Mumbai, February 5 - Superstar Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathaan" had a historic second Saturday at the box office as far as the Bollywood industry is concerned. ## Directed by Siddharth Anand, "Pathaan" scored 23.25 crores net on the second Saturday, which is the second biggest 2nd Saturday of all time for a Bollywood movie. With that, "Pathaan" has crossed 400 crores net mark (all languages) and becomes the first ever Bollywood film to achieve the feat. ## The Hindi version of "Pathaan" has scored 387 crores net, after a strong 22.50 crores on the second Saturday. The movie has now become the highest-grossing Hindi film ever, beating "Dangal" which grossed 374 crores net in the original Hindi version. At the time of writing this piece, "Pathaan" has become has crossed the 400 crores net in the Hindi language alone.## Not just domestically, "Pathaan" is breaking records at the overseas box office as well. It has become the highest-grossing Bollywood movie in the USA. It grossed $1.12 million on the second Saturday, pushing total gross collection to $13.40 million in 11 days. It surpassed Aamir Khan's "Dangal" ($12.39 million) to become the biggest Bollywood movie there.## "Pathaan" is also the highest-grossing Indian in Gulf countries. It has grossed approx. $11 million in this circuit in 11 days though it became the biggest Indian movie there in just 9 days, beating "Baahubali 2" ($10.50 million). ## The total worldwide gross collection of "Pathaan" is approx. 781 crores, including approx. 300 crores overseas. Pathaan Second Saturday Early Estimates; Scores Huge Jump

Mumbai, February 4 - Pathaan annihilated the box office on the second Saturday of its run with collections likely to be more than 60% compared to yesterday. The collections are heading towards the 23 crores net (Hindi - 22 crores) on the second Saturday, as per the early estimates. This is extraordinary growth for a mass front-loaded film that has already created historic initial records. ## The growth was always on the cards due to the superb holds on the weekdays but this sort of growth was unexpected and tells a lot about the public appreciation for Pathaan. East, West, North, and South Pathaan has superb growth all over the country across every circuit. There are a few underperforming centers as they are not at the historic levels but as standalone centers, they are doing well.## The second Saturday collections will take the entire collection of Pathaan to over 400cr net box office mark. The film has crossed the lifetime business of Dangal to emerge as the highest-grossing film in the Hindi film industry and it is also the first Hindi film that crossed the benchmark of the 400cr club. Pathaan is also heading to break many lifetime circuit records which might start in the next subsequent days. ## Sunday is set for further growth and a freaking 30cr plus Sunday cannot be ruled out the way the film is being appreciated. Pathaan Becomes Biggest Ever Bollywood Grosser At The Domestic Box Office

Mumbai, February 4 - Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathaan" has become the highest-grossing Bollywood movie of all time at the domestic box office, beating Aamir Khan's all-time blockbuster "Dangal". Directed by Siddharth Anand, "Pathaan" scored 378.15 crores net, including 364.5 crores net in Hindi alone in 10 days. It has surpassed the "Dangal" lifetime collection of 387 crores in all languages as well as 374 crores in Hindi, as I type this piece, with a total net collection going past 400 crores (401 crores), including approx. 386 crores in Hindi.## As far as the gross collection is concerned, "Dangal" (535 crores) is still ahead of "Pathaan" (454 crores). "Pathaan" has also become the 3rd highest-grossing Hindi film after "Baahubali 2" (510 crores) and "KGF 2" (435 crores). Mumbai, February 2 - Pathaan continues to dominate at the box office as the early estimate collections suggest 15-16 crores net on its 2nd Thursday. These figures are extraordinary as only a few films have managed to collect higher collections on their opening day compared to the 9th day of Pathaan.## The collections of Pathaan are universal from the multiplexes to smaller town single screens and it is the single screens that are holding well, especially in the mass centers of Delhi, UP, and Bihar. West Bengal is an SRK-driven circuit and is doing pretty fine. The aerial action thriller is scheduled to release on January 25, 2024, exactly one year after "Pathaan". ## Siddharth Anand is also the producer of "Fighter" with Viacom18 Studios distributing this highly-anticipated film. The filmmaker currently has no other film as far as the direction is concerned, however, he has the Hindi remake rights to the Hollywood actioner "Rambo". ## The filmmaker bought the remake rights from Millennium Films and announced the film many moons back with Tiger Shroff playing the titular role. The movie, however, couldn't take off due to the delay in pre-production and the covid-19 pandemic. ## During an interview with Deadline, the "Bang Bang" director revealed that pre-production on "Rambo" is going at a brisk pace and the shoot for the same will start at the end of this year after Tiger Shroff wraps up his current commitments. Pathaan First Tuesday Early Estimates; Another Huge Day On The Cards

Mumbai, January 31 - Pathaan continues its rampage at the box office as the early estimates collections suggest another around 21 crores net (approx. 20 crores Hindi) on its first Tuesday/7th day. The collections are simply historic, to say the least. The records are being smashed in every circuit by huge margins and there is no sign of stopping this anytime soon.## The first Tuesday collections will take the total collections of Pathaan to 328 crores net box office mark. Pathaan also completes its first-week run today as it was released on Wednesday last week. The first-week collection of around 316 crores Hindi net marks the biggest first week ever for a Bollywood movie. ## The previous highest first-week record holders were KGF2 and Baahubali2 and Pathaan smashed those records in the extended weekend only. It has also become the first film that crossed the 300cr mark in its opening week and hopefully we will see some more films on the list soon. ## Tomorrow the film will beat the collections of PK, Tiger Zinda Hai, and Sanju to emerge as the 2nd highest-grossing film in the Bollywood film industry. Varun Dhawan And Janhvi Kapoor's 'Bawaal' Gets Postponed

Mumbai, January 31 - Director Nitesh Tiwari's romantic action thriller "Bawaal" starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor won't be released on April 7, 2023, as announced initially. The Sajid Nadiadwala's production has postponed the release of this highly anticipated film due to technical issues. The new release date is not locked yet. ## According to reports, the makers are quite ambitious about the onscreen presentation of Bawaal and hence are even shooting it using special technology in Poland. Nitesh Tiwari himself confirmed that development saying they don't want to rush regarding the filming. ## "The visual finesse we want to achieve on these sequences will need more time than we expected. Blockbuster 'Pathaan' Becomes 1st Indian Film To Breach $1M In Saudi Arabia; Crosses $10M In North America

Los Angeles, January 31 - Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathaan" is on the roll at the box office, and now breached a rare and major milestone in Saudi Arabia.## Siddharth Anand's directorial film has crossed the $1 million mark in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and becomes the first ever Indian film to reach the mark. The spy action thriller has so far grossed approx. $1.20 million in KSA in 5 days. ## Meanwhile, the blockbuster movie has crossed the $10 million mark in North America, becoming only the 6th Indian movie to achieve the feat. After grossing the biggest opening weekend and the second biggest for an Indian movie with $9.5 million, "Pathaan" scored another approx. $560K on Monday for approx. $10.06 million in 6 days. ## Also starring John Abraham and Deepika Padukone, "Pathaan" will become the 3rd biggest Indian movie in the second weekend by beating the likes of "Dangal" ($12.39M) and "Padmaavat" ($12.17M). Pathaan First Monday Early Estimates; Superb Hold

Mumbai, January 30 - Pathaan which created havoc worldwide in its extended opening weekend has a superb hold on the crucial first Monday of its box office run. As per the early estimates, the movie scored around 23 crores net. Few films had a higher Monday number than Pathaan on nonholiday but this 23cr is coming after a business of 280cr net which makes it an extraordinary Monday. ## The first Monday collections will take Pathaan to over the 300cr net box office mark and this is the first Hindi film post-pandemic to cross this benchmark. It is also the first Shah Rukh Khan film that crossed the benchmark of 300cr. His contemporaries Salman Khan and Aamir Khan have multiple tipple-century grossers but Pathaan is sure to beat all of them by a margin. ## Pathaan now stands at 303cr net and by the end of the second weekend, the film is sure to beat the numbers of Dangal to emerge as the highest-grossing film in the industry. The target would be to beat the numbers set by the brands like Bahubali2 and KGF2 and Pathaan has the shot at KGF2. Kartik Aaryan's 'Shehzada' Gets Postponed To Clash With Marvel Studios' 'Ant-Man 3'

Mumbai, January 30 - Kartik Aaryan's action drama film "Shehzada" has been postponed by one week and will now be hitting the theaters on February 17. While the reason behind the postponement of the movie is not clear yet, reports say the makers have taken considering Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathaan" which is running riot at the box office. ## The decision to postpone the release of "Shehzada" is seen as a wise move considering the fact that Bollywood has failed to score back-to-back hits post the covid-19 pandemic. Pathaan: A King-Size Comeback of Two Giant Forces of Indian Cinema

Mumbai, January 30 - The Bollywood film industry is witnessing history being re-written at the box office, thanks to superstar Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathaan" which is simply tearing apart all the box office records. The spy action thriller has just concluded its opening weekend with a worldwide gross collection of approx. 542 crores. ## The success of "Pathaan" comes at a time when Bollywood was all over post the covid-19 pandemic. Despite a few box-office successes last year, the Hindi film industry badly needed a big blockbuster to regain its lost glory, and that came in the form of Siddharth Anand's directorial, which is a part of Yash Raj Films' ambitious spy universe. Also starring John Abraham and Deepika Padukone, "Pathaan" is currently the 15th biggest Indian film and will be entered in the top 5. ## On the larger picture, more than Bollywood, "Pathaan" marks a king-size comeback of two giant forces of Indian cinema, Shah Rukh Khan and Yash Raj Films. The combo of SRK and YRF has delivered some of the remarkable blockbusters of Indian cinema, but over the last few years, things didn't go the way they would have thought. ## Shah Rukh Khan - Before "Pathaan", King Khan's last film in a full-fledged role was "Zero" in 2018. It was an experimental film for the superstar with director Aanand L. Rai. However, the movie turned out to be a big failure which made SRK, whose previous movie "Jab Harry Met Sejal" was also a flop, take a break before planning his next. ## In 2020, SRK signed "Pathaan" and it went on floors later in the same year. However, the covid-19 pandemic had some other plans which kept pushing the shoot of the film, and in between, SRK went through a personal crisis in late 2021. After dealing with a tough situation, SRK returned to the set in early 2022 and completed the shoot amid start-stop schedules due to the pandemic.## "Pathaan" has now become SRK's biggest blockbuster and it is the sweetest end to his 4 years of hiatus during which he was writing a whole new book when everyone thought his chapter is over. ## Yash Raj Films - If Bollywood is kicking and alive, it is because of the production houses like YRF who didn't surrender at the time when others were taking the easy route to cover their losses. A firm believer in big screen experience, YRF, arguably the biggest production studio in India, is probably the biggest reason behind "Pathaan's" success. ## The studio, headed by Aditya Chopra, could have easily gone the other way but he chooses to go with what was most important for Bollywood. YRF had four releases post the pandemic, in the form of "Bunty Aur Babli 2", "Jayeshbhai Jordaar", "Samrat Prithviraj", and "Shamshera", and they all turned out to be disasters at the box office. YRF got lucrative offers from OTT platforms for direct-to-digital releases for the aforementioned, but it reject all of them to give those movies a proper theatrical release. ## Yash Raj Films deserve much more praise than it is getting for "Pathaan".
