YRF Unveils First Look Poster And Release Date of Vicky Kaushal and Manushi Chhillar's 'The Great Indian Family'

Mumbai, August 14 - Yash Raj Films' long-awaited comedy-drama film "The Great Indian Family", starring Vicky Kaushal and Manushi Chhillar in the leading roles finally has a release date in theaters. ## Directed by "Thugs of Hindostan" fame Vijay Krishna Acharya, "The Great Indian Family" has been in production since 2021, but it was delayed due to the covid-19 pandemic as well as some other reasons.## Now, the movie has been confirmed to hit cinemas worldwide on September 22, 2023, two weeks after Shah Rukh Khan's "Jawan", and a week before Prabhas-fronted "Salaar". Producer Guild and Multiplex Association of India Acknowledged Historic Box Office Weekend (August 11-13) In India

Mumbai, August 14 - The Producers Guild of India and Multiplex Association of India have jointly issued a statement on the historic box office weekend of August 11 to August 13 in India which show collections topping 400 crores gross.## The statement read the August 11-13 weekend proved to be the all-time biggest single weekend in the 100+ years of Indian cinema history in terms of gross box office collection. The same weekend also drew 2.10+ crores in admissions in theaters, which is also the highest combined footfalls in the last 10-year history. ## Shibasish Sarkar, president of GUILD, said in the statement, "Mainstream storytelling executed in the right way has resulted in the box office records being shattered. The turnout at theaters has infused a new energy in our industry, audiences are responding in numbers we have not seen for a long time".## Kamal Gianchandani, president of MAI, added, "It was a historic weekend which proves once again that India loves going to cinemas to see great movies. Box Office: Gadar 2 Becomes Sunny Deol's Highest-Grossing Film Domestically

Mumbai, August 12 - Sunny Deol-led period action drama film "Gadar 2 - The Katha Continues" is running riot at the box office and brings the magic of the first movie back. The theaters are once again witnessing housefull boards and at the same time, the capacity issue is also arising.## Directed by Anil Sharma, "Gadar 2" scored gigantic 40.10 crores net collection on the opening day, taking the second biggest opening in Hindi this year. The second day scored a jump of around 7% for 43.08 crores net and with this, it has become the highest-grossing film of Sunny Deol, beating its predecessor in terms of net collection. ## The original movie "Gadar: The Katha Continues" (2001) scored approx. 77 crores net (not adjusting with inflation) collection which has now been surpassed by the sequel after 22 years. Gadar 2 Is Set To Go Berserk At The Box Office On Friday

Mumbai, August 10 - The hype for Gadar 2 is high and it can be seen in the advance booking of the film which is outstanding with the main day to follow. The advance is competing against the biggest advances of Hindi films post-pandemic like Pathaan and Brahmastra. In smaller centers, it is bound to be the biggest advanced film ever beating KGF Chapter 2.## Gadar 2 is a sequel to the all-time blockbuster Gadar: Ek Prem Katha which was released in 2001 and belongs to the league of Sholay, Mughal-e-Azam, Mother India, and Hum Aapke Hain Koun as to the greatest box office blockbusters of all time and it is still the biggest hit of this century, bigger than the likes of Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Dangal, and 3 Idiots. ## The original movie had an opponent in 2001 in the form of Lagaan and even its sequel Gadar2 is having an opponent in the form of OMG2 which is again a sequel of a superhit OMG back in 2012 but OMG2 holds less appeal compared to OMG due to the subject of the film.
