Ayan Mukerji's 'Brahmastra' Joins 'Thor 4', 'Avatar 2' And More On Disney's Global Theatrical Slate

Mumbai, May 8 - Filmmaker Ayan Mukerji's upcoming fantasy adventure film "Brahmāstra Part One: Shiva" is getting bigger and bigger with each passing day. It has already been the most-awaited Indian movie of the year and now, Disney Studio has included the film in its global theatrical release calendar for 2022.## This is the first time when Disney has included an Indian movie in its global slate. Disney's 2022 list also includes movies such as "Thor Love And Thunder", "Black Panther Wakanda Forever", "Avatar The Way of Water", and more for this year. ## Brahmāstra, which is slated to release on September 9, 2022, worldwide, is produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions in association with Fox Star Studios. Disney is one of the biggest global brands and it will surely help "Brahmāstra" to aim for the widest audiences possible. It is already seen as a game-changing film for Indian cinema. ## Brahmastra is a 3-part film franchise and the beginning of India's first original universe - the Astraverse. Mumbai, May 7 - Runway 34 which is coming from a low first-week collection has seen a good growth over its second Saturday of its box office run. The early estimated collections are set to be around 1.75 cr net which is a huge growth from the second Friday. The second Friday collections for Runway 34 were around 1 cr net and today's collections will be around 1.75 cr net. Mumbai, May 6 - Runway 34 could not really perform at the box office on the second Friday as the early estimated collections are set to be around 1 crore net box office collections. The long-awaited historical action drama based on the life of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan is written and directed by Padma Shri awardee Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi. ## Akshay, in a recent interview, opened up about the movie and said that he was taken aback by the amount of research done on the film to keep it the most authentic. "Writing and directing a historical is not an easy job and I was deeply impressed that he has left no stone unturned to ensure that we are paying the most glorious tribute to Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan’s life and valour", the actor said as per Gulf News. ## "He waited for 18 years of his life nurturing and making Prithviraj the most glorious retelling of the Samrat's life. Aamir Khan And Ranbir Kapoor's Dream Project Together Is On

Mumbai, May 6 - Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan and Ranbir Kapoor shared screen space for a few seconds in director Rajkumar Hirani's all-time blockbuster "PK" (2014), which eventually triggered the speculation about the future collaboration. However, nothing worked out despite the rumors of both joining hands for the sequel to "PK". ## Last year, it was reported that Aamir and Ranbir liked a script and might join hands to do the film. However, the delay in Aamir's "Laal Singh Chaddha" and Ranbir's films once again spoiled the party as there had been no news about the same since then. It has now been reported by Pinkvilla that the project is indeed on it might be directed by Anurag Basu, who previously worked with Ranbir on Barfi and Jagga Jasoos. ## According to the report, Anurag Basu is working to develop a screenplay for both actors. It is said to be a visual effect-heavy subject that will be produced by Aamir Khan's own production house. "The movie is in a very nascent stage at the moment, in fact, the duo of AK and RK will decide on doing it only once they are absolutely satisfied with the final output", Pinkvilla reports. ## "It's high on the VFX project, and hence an extremely risky proposition. Box Office: Heropanti 2 First Tuesday Early Estimates

Mumbai, May 3 - Heropanti2 had another struggle at the ticket window on day 5 of its box office run despite having a major holiday like Eid. The early estimates collections are set to be in the range of 1.75-2 cr net which is a very low number on a national holiday. The total collections of the film will now stand at 18.50 cr net depending on the final collections of Tuesday which will be known by Tomorrow. The film did not get any kind of boost in the business as by the time the Eid holidays started the film was rejected by the audience due to bad content. Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Baiju Bawra' Starring Ranveer Singh And Alia Bhatt Delayed To 2023?

Mumbai, May 3 - Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali continued his winning streak with the recently released "Gangubai Kathiawadi" starring Alia Bhatt in the title role. It made nearly 200 crores gross at the worldwide box office and became the first Bollywood hit of 2022. ## The renowned filmmaker has been working on a couple of projects. While his "Heeramandi" series was set on Netflix, the filmmaker was also supposed to begin his long-awaited magnum opus, "Baiju Bawra". It is said to be his most ambitious musical love saga that will reportedly be headlined by Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. ## It was previously reported that "Baiju Bawra" would commence filming later this year and will release in 2023. However, as per the latest reports, the movie is once again getting delayed and will now be starting in the summer of 2023. However, there is no confirmed update about the shooting timeline of the film yet. ## Interestingly, "Baiju Bawra" was officially announced on the occasion of Diwali in October 2019 and was set for Diwali 2021 release. Prithviraj Is My Dream Project, Says Director Chandraprakash Dwivedi

Mumbai, May 3 - The long-awaited historical action drama film, "Prithviraj" is getting ready for June 3rd worldwide release. In the movie, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar plays celebrated Rajput emperor Prithviraj Chauhan along with Manushi Chhillar, who makes her Hindi film debut playing the role of Sanyogita. ## Written and directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi, the movie is based on medieval poet Chand Bardai's epic poem Prithviraj Raso. It also stars Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood, Ashutosh Rana, Sakshi Tanwar, Manav Vij, and Lalit Tiwari in other important characters. Director Dwivedi in a recent interview spoke about the movie and called it his dream project that has been a long time coming. ## "Prithviraj is my dream project. It's a script that I have nurtured for a long, long time because of the extensive research work that was needed before I even attempted to make a film on this mighty and legendary king. To be precise, Prithviraj's final research took about six months for me to be fully satisfied that every single fact was checked multiple times", said Dwivedi as per Indian Express. ## The director further said that he is fully satisfied as a filmmaker for taking so much time before releasing his dream. "There is no Samrat like Prithviraj in our history and I hope our film is a fitting tribute to his valour and magnanimous way of life", he added. ## Produced by Yash Raj Films, the movie is one of the costliest ever in Bollywood with a budget of over 250 crores. Box Office: Runway 34 First Monday Early Estimates

Mumbai, May 2 - Runway 34 had an upward trajectory till Sunday with excellent growth over Saturday and good growth over Sunday. The weekend collections were still very low but the positive sign was the trajectory of the film with rising collections. Today the film has seen the first drop of its box office run. The drop is not huge if you compare it with the first day of the film but that is because the film did not open at all on the first day. The films need to maintain the upward trend when it does not open to big numbers. The early estimates collections are set to be in the range of 2.40 crores net box office. The film will be helped by the Eid holidays which will kick off from Tuesday onwards. The total collections of the film will cross the 17cr mark including today's early estimates collections. Runway34 was behind Heropanti2 in weekend collections but from here on Runway34 will gain over Heropanti2 due to stronger content. Box Office: Heropanti 2 First Monday Early Estimates; Game Over

Mumbai, May 2 - Heropanti 2 performed very badly over the first weekend but still, the daily collections were respectable till Sunday. However, the real shocker came on Monday as the film has a huge struggle today. The early estimated collections for Heropanti 2 are set to be in the range of 1.20 cr net box office collections for the first Monday. The Eid holidays will kick off from Tuesday onwards and the film might get some footfalls over the next couple of days but after that, it will be game over for the film. Sidharth Malhotra's 'Mission Majnu' Among 4 Others To Be Postponed Again?

Mumbai, May 2 - A handful of Bollywood movies are set to be postponed again to make way for big-ticket Hollywood tentpoles and also due to the delay in production. It need not say that the covid-19 pandemic has paused a big challenge for the Hindi movies.## While the Indian box office is coming to life thanks to the South Indian and Hollywood movies. Bollywood movies too have success in the form of "Sooryavanshi", "Gangubai Kathiawadi", and "The Kashmir Files", but it is not enough to bring back the industry to its strong feet again. The failure of mid-sized movies remains a big concern for makers and thus, they are now making sure they take the right steps regarding the release of their films and find suitable dates. ## According to Pinkvilla, Sidharth Malhotra, and Rashmika Mandanna's espionage thriller, "Mission Manju" and the Vicky Kaushal, Kiara Advani, and Bhumi Pednekar-starrer "Govinda Naam Mera", which are scheduled to release on June 10, are set to be postponed for later dates. Interestingly, the Hollywood movie, Jurassic World Dominion is also scheduled for June 10 release and it is unlikely to be postponed. ## The report also states that "Mission Majun" will now release between July and September this year while "Govinda Naam Mera" is targeting a year-end release. Apart from the aforementioned movies, Rani Mukerji's "Ms Chatterji V/s Norway", is also getting postponed from May 20th. Kangana Ranaut's "Dhaakad" and Kartik Aaryan's "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2" are already slated for May 20th release and are all set to proceed with that. ## Another Sidharth Malhotra film, "Yodha", which is slated for a release on November 11, is reportedly getting postponed to 2023. The movie is currently in post-production work and is said to be making way for Marvel Studios' "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever", due on November 11. Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan To Invest In A Cricket Stadium Near Los Angeles

Mumbai, May 2 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, actress Juhi Chawla and businessman Jay Mehta's the Knight Riders Group (KRG), after owning two T20 teams, are now investing in a cricket stadium near Los Angeles. ## The capacity of the stadium is said to be 10000 and it is located at a 15-acre land parcel in Great Park, Irvine, Southern California, some 40 miles from downtown Los Angeles. The plan to build a cricket stadium in the area is driven by Major League Cricket (MLC) which has revealed that an exclusive negotiating agreement with the city of Irvine to move forward with lease negotiations and design approvals has been approved. ## According to Variety, the investment in the stadium is likely to be in the range of $30 million and it will be designed by architects HKS. The stadium will be home to MLC's Southern California-based franchise, in the heart of one of the largest cricket-loving populations in the U.S., including an estimated 100,000 cricket fans with a further 200,000 more located in Los Angeles County. ## The capacity of the stadium will be expanded further and it will also include state-of-the-art training facilities, locker rooms, luxury suites, dedicated parking, concessions, field lighting, and an international-grade pitch to meet International Cricket Council (ICC) accreditation. ## If the proposed stadium is completed in time, it could host some of the matches of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup in 2024, which is scheduled to be played in the US and West Indies. ## "Our investment in MLC in America is based on our belief in the exciting future of cricket in the U.S.A and is well aligned to our strategy of establishing Knight Riders as a global brand in T20 cricket", said Shah Rukh Khan, per Variety. "Plans to build a world-class cricket stadium in the greater Los Angeles area are exciting for us and MLC. This will no doubt have a transformational impact for cricket in one of the world’s most iconic metropolitan destinations", he added. ## Meanwhile, on the work front, Shah Rukh Khan will next be seen in YRF's spy action thriller "Pathaan" which is scheduled to release on January 25th, 2023.
