SS Rajamouli Reveals Why He Cast Alia Bhatt As Sita In 'RRR'
Hyderabad, December 19 - SS Rajamouli is gearing up for the release of his next magnum opus, "RRR", due on January 7, 2022. The "Baahubali" filmmaker, who is known for casting his artistes wisely, brings a staller ensemble cast including Ram Charan, Jr. NTR, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt among others in prominent roles. ## Rajamouli revealed in an interview with IANS why he picked Alia Bhatt to play the role of Sita. The filmmaker said that he saw Alia's "Raazi", and he found her innocent yet very tough from the inside, which was one of the reasons he cast her in the upcoming Pan-India biggie "RRR". ## "I have two super forces in the film — fire, and water — Ram and Bheem, who are very strong and who are exclusive in nature. For me, the character of Sita is very soft, very fragile on the outside. But inside, she is so strong that she would be able to rein in these forces".## "I saw Raazi and I was impressed with her (Alia's) performance. I was impressed by how a simple woman could do things much beyond her capacity. So, when we figured out the characterization of Sita, everybody's choice was Alia. I knew Alia was interested in doing a role in my film but I did not know if she would be interested in playing a cameo. But when we asked her, she immediately jumped in joy without any hesitation", he added. ## "RRR" marks Alia Bhatt's debut in Telugu and she is currently busy promoting the film with the rest of the cast. The movie is produced by DVV Entertainment, and it also stars Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody, Shriya Saran, and Olivia Morris in supporting roles.
