Dharma Productions' Clarifies On The Rumours of 'Kill' Remake

Mumbai, July 16 - Producer Karan Johar's Dharma Productions has issued an official statement on the recent speculations about the remake rights of its action thriller Kill which is currently playing in theatres and doing decent business.## Directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, Kill was announced to be remade in Hollywood by John Wick director Chad Stahelski even before the film's official release in India on July 5. Hyderabad, July 16 - Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD will stay in theatres longer than the recent Telugu biggies, as the team has reportedly confirmed it won't be releasing on the digital platform anytime soon. ## Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD is having a great run at the worldwide box office, already grossing over 950 crores in just 19 days. There were rumours that just like the other recent Telugu movies, Kalki would also be streaming on digital platforms after 4 weeks which has been denied by the makers.## As per Telugu media reports, the sci-fi epic blockbuster will be made available on a digital platform only after 10 weeks of its theatrical release, as per the pre-agreement with the OTT platform which has bought the streaming rights. ## Kalki 2898 AD is a Pan India movie and performed well in every version at the domestic and worldwide box office so far. Mumbai, July 14 - Akshay Kumar's biographical drama Sarfira has a low first weekend at the domestic box office with a collection of around 12 crores net which is one of the lowest for the actor in many many years. ## Sarfira opened to poor numbers which proved to be fatal for the movie despite the good jump in the collection. On its first Sunday/third day, the movie scored an estimated 5-5.25 crores net, jumping around 20% from yesterday, for around 12 crores opening weekend. ## These are good collections for a non-star film but for someone like Akshay Kumar along with a top star cast, 12 crores weekend is disappointing. There is an appreciation for the movie but it hasn't been able to covert this into footfalls in large numbers. ## To have some sort of legs at the box office, Sarfira will have to beat the opening-day collection and try to come close to second-day figures of around 4 crores on its make-or-break first Monday. It, however, won't be easy due to competition and a proper working day. ## Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 (Hindi) remained in the similar range as yesterday as estimates suggest the first Sunday collection around 1.30 crores net for approximately 3.80 crores opening weekend in Hindi which is very poor. ## The movie witnessed a drop of around 15% in the collection for all languages on its third Sunday for an estimated 17.50+ crores gross (15+ crores net). All India opening weekend of Indian 2 is around 69+ crores gross (59 crores net) which is underwhelming as there were huge expectations from the film. Kochi, July 14 - One of the highest-grossing Malayalam movies of all-time, Aadujeevitham - The Goat Life starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, has finally locked the streaming day after more than 100 days of its theatrical release on March 28. ## Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Blessy, Aadujeevitham will make its streaming debut on Netflix on July 19, in Malayalam, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Tamil languages, after 113 days of the theatrical run. ## Aadujeevitham was originally supposed to lock a deal with Disney+Hotstar which has been a frequent collaborator for Malayalam movies, but the deal didn't materialize due to some reasons before Netflix grabbed the streaming rights for all versions.## Earlier, the survival thriller ended its box office run as the third highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time at the worldwide box office with approximately 157.50+ crores gross which includes 98 crores gross in India and 59.50 crores overseas collection. ## The movie is an adaptation of the 2008 best-selling Malayalam novel Aadujeevitham by Benyamin, which is based on the real-life story of Najeeb, a Malayali immigrant labourer, one among thousands of Indians who were forced into slavery in Saudi Arabia as goatherds on secluded farms in the deserts by the native Arabs.## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, July 14 - Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD has entered the list of the top 5 biggest net grossers after surpassing Ranbir Kapoor's mega-blockbuster Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. ## Directed by Nag Ashwin, the sci-fi epic minted an estimated 14.35 crores net collection on its third Saturday (17th day) with a jump of around 140% from Friday. This pushed the film's total net collection past Animal (554 crores approx.) at an estimated 564 crores net. ## Kalki 2898 AD is now the 5th biggest net grosser (7th in terms of gross collection) after 17 days and with its 18th day, it will cross the gross total of Pathaan (657.50 crores) and Animal (660 crores) to become the 5th biggest grosser at the Indian box office.## Here Are Top 5 Movies At The Indian Box Office (Estimated Net Collection, As of July 13, 2024) - ## 1. Mumbai, July 13 - After the low start, Akshay Kumar's Sarfira witnessed a jump of around 70% on its second day, however, the overall collection remains low due to the poor start which was one of the lowest for the actor in many many years.## According to the early estimates, Sarfira has earned in the range of 4-4.25 crores net on its first Saturday/second day, pushing the total to around 6.50+ crores net in 2 days which is poor collection. The movie needed to score a jump of over 100% today, although it still wouldn't be enough to make up for the lost ground it could have given the movie some sort of momentum. ## The word of mouth for the movie is positive but to say that it will make any positive difference to the overall collection is tough to guess because these kinds of films have been struggling to bring crowds to the theatres in large numbers after the COVID-19 pandemic. The weekend total is headed to finish around 12 crores net.## Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 (Hindi) hasn't seen any growth today as estimates suggest the second-day collection of the dubbed version to be around 1.25 crores net, pushing the total to approx. 2.50 crores net in two days as opening weekend heading for around 4 crores net.## There was some drop in the collection of the Telugu version of the film as the first Saturday estimates for all versions of Indian 2 suggest the collection to be around 20 crores gross (17 crores net) for around 50 crores total domestic gross in two days. A Shortened Version of 'Indian 2' To Be Played In Theaters After Makers Trimmed 20 Minutes

Chennai, July 13 - Veteran actor Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 has had a good opening at the worldwide box office with 56+ crores gross collection which includes 30+ crores from the domestic market, making it the second biggest start for an Indian movie of 2024. ## Directed by Shankar, Indian 2, however, got criticism for its lengthy runtime which is 3 hours and upon feedback from audiences, the makers have now decided to trim 20 minutes to make it 2 hours and 40 minutes film. The shortened version will now be played in theatres starting today. ## Indian 2 is the sequel to the 1996 film, Indian which was a big success. Kamal Haasan reprises his role as Senapathy, an ageing freedom fighter turned vigilante who fights against corruption, leading a massive ensemble which also includes Siddharth, S. J.
