John Wick Franchise Passed $1 Billion At The Global Box Office
Los Angeles, May 20 - Lionsgate Films' action thriller franchise John Wick has crossed the $1 billion mark at the global box office through the 4 films released so far in the series. ## John Wick is one of the most profitable action film franchises of all time. The combined budget of the 4 films in the series is around $230 million while the total gross collection now stands at $1.01 billion, including $425 million for the 4th installment. ## The first film in the series, "John Wick" was released in 2014 and grossed $87.08 million at the global box office against a budget of around $20 million. The domestic and overseas grosses of the film were almost similar at $43 million and $44.08 million, respectively. ## The sequel to "John Wick" debuted in 2017 and cost around $40 million to bring to the big screen. The movie topped the grosses of the first film by more than double margin and scored $171.50 million worldwide, including $92 million domestically and $79.50 million overseas. ## The trade of topping the collection of its predecessor continued with "John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum" (2019) which breached the $200 million as well as $300 million mark for the franchise globally. Against the budget of $70 million, the movie scored $326.70 million, including $171 million domestically and $155.70 million overseas. ## The 4th and latest in the franchise, "John Wick - Chapter 4" was released in March this year and still playing in a handful of cinemas with a worldwide total currently standing at $425.30 million. Domestically, it is the highest-grossing film in the series with $184 million while it is also the biggest overseas as well with $241.30 million. It cost around $100 million. ## The combined domestic (North America) gross collection of the "John Wick" franchise stands at $490 million while the international collection is around $521.30 million. ## Stay tuned...
