'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' Forces Dharma Production To Delay Tiger Shroff's 'Screw Dheela'

Mumbai, August 23 - Bollywood action star Tiger Shroff was all set to begin the shooting of director Shashank Khaitan's romantic actioner Screw Dheela in September this year, however, the movie has now been delayed to 2023. ## According to reports, Karan Johar who is producing the film under his banner Dharma Productions wanted Tiger to allot multiple months for the film's shoot, but the actor has other films too which were announced before "Screw Dheela" and are scheduled to go on floors later this year and early next year. ## While Tiger could still have managed to find dates for Dharma's film, one movie that actually forced the studio to delay the shooting is Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff's Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. The Ali Abbas Zafar directorial has been in pre-production for a long time and is finally ready to go on floors by the end of this year or in January 2023. ## BMCM is a big-budget film that will be shot in multiple locations in India and abroad. The movie will be completed over the period of 6-7 months before getting it ready for Christmas 2023 release. Pooja Entertainment is producing this action comedy film. ## Meanwhile, "Screw Dheela" was reportedly shelved which is not true. It will now start shooting by mid-2023 or later in the same year. Mumbai, August 23 - It seems everything which is associated with the largest Indian film industry Bollywood is being boycotted by social media warriors, and the latest film to face the wrath of social media is Vijay Deverakonda's Liger, which is more of a Telugu movie but has a Bollywood connection too. ## The Telugu version of "Liger" is unlikely to get affected by the #BoycottLiger trend as Telugu audiences are not caring about this silly trend either. The Hindi version of the film might get affected by this trend, however, Vijay Deverakonda is not at all worried about it and said that he has seen enough of this in his career so far. ## "I have struggled a lot to reach here", VD said during a promotional tour of his upcoming movie. "I fought for money and respect. I also fought to get work. Before the release of my first film, I didn't have much money and I even worked free of cost".## Recalling his early days in the industry, Vijay Deverakonda said, "Many people opposed me at the time of the release of my film Arjun Reddy. But it became successful. I faced all and now I am not scared. Now, I make movies for people. Some drama is much needed and I am ready to fight".## Meanwhile, irrespective of the boycott trend, "Liger" is carrying a very good buzz among moviegoers and is set to open big at the box office, especially in the Telugu version. Even though the Hindi version is looking to open low as of now, it can be the most productive in the long run if received well by the audience. ## Directed by Puri Jagannadh and producer by Dharma Productions and Puri Connects, "Liger" also stars Ananya Pandey as the female lead along with Ramya Krishnan, and Ronit Roy in key roles with former American professional boxer Mike Tyson playing a cameo role. It was said to be a stylish action thriller, to be backed by Mythri Movie Makers. However, there was no development since then until recently. ## According to Pinkvilla, Siddharth Anand has started preparation for Prabhas' film and is giving the final touch to the script before it is ready to take on floors by mid-2023. Siddharth recently completed the shoot of Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathaan", which is scheduled to release on January 25, 2023. ## "Both Prabhas and Siddharth are presently busy with their ongoing projects. However, the filmmaker has simultaneously started prepping for his collaboration with Prabhas. The film will be mounted on a large scale, and they want to start shooting for it in mid-2023. Mumbai, August 22 - Tiger Shroff's recently announced romantic actioner Screw Dheela with director Shashank Khaitan has been delayed shoot and will now start in 2023. It was reported the movie has been shelved as the budget was going over, however, producer Karan Johar has denied such reports. ## Karan Johar, in interaction with peepingmoon, confirmed that the movie is not shelved but delayed as there were date issues with Tiger Shroff. "The only reason Screw Dheela was not made is that there was a date constraint and he had an exit in January to start Bade Miyan Chote Miyan". ## "We definitely plan to pursue Screw Dheela next year and another big action film along with many other plans with Tiger. Mumbai, August 22 - Filmfare magazine has reacted to National Award-winning actress, Kangana Ranaut's remarks against it. The magazine said in a statement that Kangana's remarks, in which she threatened to sue Filmfare nominating her for this year's Filmfare awards against her objection, are malicious. ## It pains us at Filmfare, today, to be subjected to unwarranted malicious remarks by Ms. Kangana Ranaut", Filmfare said in a statement. "For over six decades, Filmfare Awards, and Filmfare, at large, has been a platform that celebrates and honours talent in the Film industry impartially and with utmost transparency. It is our strong ethic that has helped us in gaining the trust of our audiences and the film industry. ## Kangana alleged that Filmfare invited her to the award ceremony and wanted to give her the Best Actress award. Filmfare, however, said, "as is customary during the awards, Filmfare's Executive Editor informed Ms. Ranaut about her nomination in the Best Actor in a Leading Role, Female category and asked for her address to send across the invitation". ## The magazine also posted the message which it claimed to be the actual message it send to the actress and clarified that it wasn't about her giving the award or asking for any performance. The message read, "Hello Kangana, heartiest congratulations on your nomination for the Filmfare Awards. It’ll be a pleasure to have you there, do confirm your presence at the awards ceremony on August 30 at Jio World Convention Centre at BKC, Mumbai. It’ll help us plot your seats. P.S. The actress claimed that Filmfare wants her to give the award for "Thalaivii", despite knowing that she has boycotted the Filmfare awards since 2014. ## "I've banned unethical, corrupt, and totally unfair practices like @filmfare since 2014, but since I have been getting many calls from them for attending their award function this year as they want to give me an award for Thalaivii... Mumbai, August 21 - Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri said that the reason behind Bollywood's rejection is its arrogance. The "The Kashmir Files" director was speaking in response to director Anurag Kashyap's remark on his film during a recent interview in which he said that TKF shouldn't be chosen for India's official entry for Oscars 2022. ## The selection for India's Oscars entry is made by the Film Federation of India (FFI), the apex body of film producers, distributors, exhibitors, and studio owners, and since 1957, when Mehboob Khan's 'Mother India' lost by just a vote, all of two Indian films - Mira Nair's "Salaam Bombay" (1988) and the Aamir Khan-starrer "Lagaan" (2001) have made it to the Oscar nominations shortlist.## It is possible that "The Kashmir Files" may not be picked as India's entry but Vivek Agnihotri has reasons to feel offended by Kashyap's remark. "Bollywood is suffering today because you are trying to pass on your own failure to an individual because his films work", he said. ## "Go to any middle-class, urban, semi-urban household and interview them and you will find how people hate the arrogance, glossy lifestyle, and the disconnect of Bollywood with real-life audiences".## Agnihotri said that people have seen through "all this hypocrisy, arrogance, and this flashy, flamboyant lifestyle, paid organized publicity campaigns... and now they are not willing to accept it, which is a good thing, which has made Bollywood rethink the ideology they follow".## "They are still running a campaign against 'The Kashmir Files' Oscars submission. So, they are experts on this. It is a serious topic and I take it very seriously. If people are boycotting their films it is because of the anger of the audience. There is a disconnect between the Indian middle class and the producers and stars because of their arrogance".## Referring specifically to Anurag Kashyap, Agnihotri said, "I will tell you why I have tweeted on Anurag Kashyap's comment.
