A Sequel To Historic Blockbuster 'Gadar' Is In Works With Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, And Utkarsh Sharma

Mumbai, July 21, 2021: Set against the backdrop of the partition of India, the 2001 romantic period action film "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha" was a historic blockbuster. The cross-border love story of Tara Singh and Sakeena broke many box office records and became one of the highest-grossing films of 2001 and won awards for music, acting, and direction categories. ## Directed by Anil Sharma, the story of the film revolved around Tara Singh (Sunny Deol), who went all the way to bring back his love of life and dear wife Sakeena (Ameesha Patel). It also starred Amrish Puri (Sakeena's father), Lillete Dubey, and Utkarsh Sharma (Tara Singh-Sakeena's son). Due to the film's historic success and constant demand, the makers have decided to work on its sequel. ## While the first part was all about a husband-wife relationship, the sequel will focus on the father-son bond. As per reports, Sunny's character will again cross the border but this time to bring his beloved son Charanjeet Singh. The sequel will star Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, and grown-up Utkarsh Sharma reprising their roles from part one. ## Tara Singh's charactor became so famous that Anil Sharma feels he can make several films with it. The previous two films in the franchise - Ek Tha Tiger and Tiger Zinda Hai, were the huge blockbuster and the expectations from Tiger 3 are even higher. ## Tiger 3 is said to be the more intense, high on the scale, and will be the most expensive in the franchise. Katrina Kaif will also be reprising her role as an ISI agent while Emraan Hashmi is the latest inclusion in the franchise. He will be seen playing the role of Pakistani ISI agent and set to lock horns with the lead protagonist in this Yash Raj Film. Tiger 3 will also have a cameo role of superstar Shah Rukh Khan. ## Meanwhile, Salman has started preparing for his role. He is sweating hard in the gym to get the perfect shape for his role as a RAW agent. On Tuesday (July 20), the superstar turned to Twitter to share a short video showing his intense training session. After being dropped out from Karan Johar's Dostana 2 and Red Chillies Entertainment's Freddie, the talented actor grabbed Sajid Nadiadwala's Satyanarayan Ki Katha, which would now be renamed. ## As Kartik Aaryan's stars started aligning, he has reportadly been approached for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next film that also has Deepika Padukone as the female lead. Earlier this month, Kartik and Deepika were spotted at Bhansali's office and now, it is said that the duo will be sharing screen space for the first time. ## While there is no official confirmation yet, it has been reported that Ranbir Kapoor has dropped out of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next film, Baiju Bawra, and has been replaced with Kartik Aaryan. If the collaboration gets confirmed, then it will be Bhansali's fourth collaboration with Deepika after Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, Bajirao Mastani, and Padmaavat while Kartik's first with both Bhansali and Deepika.## A source close to the development reveals to SpotboyE, "Bhansali and Kartik are collaborating on a project that will star the actor opposite Deepika for the first time. However, there is no clarity on which project it is and nothing has been signed on the dotted line yet. That project might be Baiju Bawra or it might be a completely different film that Bhansali is making for Kartik and Deepika". ## Meanwhile, Kartik also has Anees Bazmee's Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 with Kiara Advani and Tabu in the works, as well as Ram Madhvani's Netflix movie Dhamaka. The India Box Office Sees A Positive Sign As Salman Khan Starrer Radhe Released On Limited Screens

Mumbai, July 17, 2021: Salman Khan's Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai was put on hold for more than a year to give it a theatrical release. It was finally set to release in theaters on May 13, but the prevailing second wave of the covid-19 pandemic forced makers to change their plans. However, this time the makers were not in a mood to delay the release anymore, and hence, they opt for simultaneous OTT release via pay-per-view model and theaters on May 13. ## As theaters were closed in India when Radhe release, the movie automatic became a direct-to-digital release, leaving theatrical business gasping. It was in June when the Maharasthra government allowed theaters to reopen in areas where the covid-19 situation was under control. Upon the reopening of cinemas, Radhe released on the big screens, even though only limited screens were available. While the box office collection was nowhere close to the pre-covid era, it was still increasing to see the audiences stepping out from their houses to watch the movie. ## Recently, the Rajasthan and Utter Pradesh governments also permitted the reopening of cinemas with 50% capacity. Before started screening in Rajasthan on July 13, Radhe had collected around Rs. 1.80 lakh across theaters. From Tuesday onwards, Radhe witness a sharp growth in the collection. ## The movie premiered on iconic single-screen theaters, Raj Mandir, and collected approx 25k on Tuesday, 25.3k on Wednesday, 31.5k on Thursday, and around 36k on Friday. On the other hand, Radhe reportadly released at 5 properties in UP on Friday and collected around 60k from 10 shows. Including Rajasthan and UP's collection, Radhe has so far earned approx. 3.30 lakh. ## The box office collection of Radhe in India should be taken positively considering the fact that the movie is almost two months old and received negative reviews from every corner of the country. It shows that the audience is willing to go out to watch movies in theaters if they get a chance.
