Actor Varun Sharma will be headlining as one of the leading actors in the upcoming horror-comedy film, Roohi. Directed by Hardik Mehta, Roohi is the first major Hindi film that will be releasing in theaters on March 11 post the reopening of cinemas. Varun Sharma said that going inside a theatre after a year was a special moment for him. ## Varun entered a theatre for promotional activity around his upcoming film "Roohi", along with the film's team in the Capital on Thursday. He took to Instagram and posted a picture in which he is seen bowing down in the theatre as a mark of respect. He also penned a long note along with the picture. ## "For us, Actors, cinema halls, and multiplexes are nothing short of a shrine. A year back, when the on-going pandemic hit us hard and theatres had to stay shut, the entire cinema industry incurred massive losses. But more importantly, it took an emotional toll on us. Today after one year I visited the Theatre and I feel so much Gratitude in my Heart❤️", he wrote. ## "I grew up in a middle-class family in Jalandhar. I knew no one in showbiz. Despite all that, I wanted to be an actor for the only time I was utterly and truly happy was when I would be before the big screen living the magic and absorbing the larger-than-life charm of Hindi films. Soon, the first day first shows became a way of life and before I knew it, I was seduced into the world of movies", he added.## "When my first film Fukrey released in 2013 and I took my family to the theatres to watch it on the big screen, it was rather overwhelming. When my mother saw me on the screen, she broke down. It was an emotional moment for the entire family. Income Tax Department Claims Crores Hidden After Raids Carried Out In Mumbai At Taapsee Pannu, Anurag Kashyap And Other's Properties

The Income Tax Department on Wednesday carried out searches at over 30 locations in Mumbai and Pune, including the premises of film director Anurag Kashyap, actress Taapsee Pannu, filmmaker Vikas Bahl, and Madhu Mantena. Now, the IT Department has issued an official statement on the raids they carried out in Mumbai at different properties and claims crores hidden. ## The statement read, "The Income Tax Department is carrying out search and survey operations which started on 03.03.2021 on two leading film production companies, a leading actress and two Talent Management companies in Mumbai. Search operation is being carried out at Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, and Hyderabad. The group is mainly engaged in the business of Production of Motion Pictures, Web Series, acting, direction, and talent Management of celebrities and other artists. A total of 28 premises are being covered in different locations which include residences and offices".## "During the search, evidence of huge suppression of income by the leading Film Production house compared to the actual box office collections has been unearthed. The company officials have not been able to explain the discrepancy of around Rs. 300 crore".## "Evidence related to manipulation and under-valuation of share transactions of the production house amongst the film directors and shareholders, having tax implication of about Rs. 350 crore has been found and is being further investigated".## "Evidence of cash receipts by the leading actress amounting to Rs 5 crore has been recovered. Further investigation is going on", the statement further read. ## The statement also said that the team has seized a huge amount of digital data in the form of emails, Whatsapp chats, hard disks, etc which are under investigation. "Apart from this, non-genuine/bogus expenditure to related concerns by the leading producers/director having tax implication of about Rs. 20 crore has been detected. Similar findings have been made in the case of the leading actress also".## At the office premises of the two talent management companies, a huge amount of digital data has been seized in the form of emails, WhatsApp chats, hard disks, etc which are under investigation. Recalling Sushant, Bhumi said that he was a rare mind in Bollywood. ## "Sushant became a friend and someone I admired very fast. He was a true blue gem of a person and an actor with a restless mind. We really had the best time on set. His rare mind with brilliant ideas kept me very intrigued through our Sonchiriya experience", Bhumi said according to Sify.## "I got to meet and work with a creative mind like Sushant Singh Rajput due to the film. I had the best time exchanging notes with him", she added.## "Sonchiriya' gave me the chance to work with a brilliant cast and people I admired deeply. It's an experience I'll deeply cherish more because of the collaboration I had with Sushant and Khushiya, the little girl who played Sonchiriya. Khushiya has become a part of my life forever", she recalled working on Sonchiriya.## Sonchiriya couldn't make big numbers at the box office but it was critically admired. I saw what Manya Surve (his character in Shootout At Wadala) did for me and Sanjay (Gupta). This film has raw action. In this film, my character has a conflict with Emraan's character. It's a gangster film and we are showing what has happened in reality".## The trailer of Mumbai Saga was released on Friday (February 26) and it shows how violence ruled Bombay in the 80s and 90s. John portrays a gangster who aspires to rule Bombay while Emraan Hashmi is cast as a cop who wants to kill John and win prize money of Rs 10 crore. The Sanjay Gupta directorial has an ensemble cast including Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Kajal Aggarwal, Prateik Babbar, Rohit Roy, Anjana Sukhani, and Gulshan Grover. ## John Abraham will also be starring in an action thriller film, Attack, directed and co-written by Lakshya Raj Anand. Co-starring Jacqueline Fernandez, and Rakul Preet Singh, John will be seen doing action once again in this film but he said it will be completely different and futuristic action. Veteran actor Gulshan Grover says he has respect for OTT platforms but theatres define the festive experience of watching films, and it is something that has been missing over the past year because of the complete closure of cinemas due to the covid-19 pandemic.## "For almost a year now, we have been watching films and series on OTT in our homes. We have been watching content from across the world. The OTT has its own advantages but we also want to get out there and want to have a real experience of watching a film", said Grover at the trailer launch of the upcoming film Mumbai Saga on Friday in Mumbai.## Talking about the filmmakers who have gone ahead and decided to release their movies in theaters amid the covid-19 protocols, Gulshan Grover added that it is a gusty and brave move by them to accept those protocols in safeguarding the audience while watching movies in theaters. Touted as a massive mass entertainer, the Mumbai Saga trailer shows how violence ruled Bombay (now Mumbai) in the 80s and 90s. ## Directed by Sanjay Gupta, the trailer promises high-octane action scenes in the face-off between John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi. The three minutes long trailer shows how Amartya Rao (John Abraham) becomes a gangster who aspires to rule old Mumbai.
