Mumbai, May 11 - Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise is once again set to display his stardom among the Indian audience as his spy action thriller, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, is heading for a big opening at the Indian box office upon its release on May 17. ## The Christopher McQuarrie's directorial sequel to Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One (2023) is hitting fantastic advances in India. With 6 days still to go before the release, the blockbuster has sold over 12,000 advance tickets in the three multiplex chains (PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis) for the opening weekend. ## For the opening day alone, The Final Reckoning has sold over 8K tickets in PIC, which is fantastic. The pre-sales are mainly scoring in the premium format. It needs to be seen how the pre-sales progress leading up to the release date, but the early signs are super positive. ## Dead Reckoning was a big hit and took the opening of approximately 15 crore gross in India. Kochi, May 11 - Superstar Mohanlal's mega blockbuster drama thriller Thudarum has become the highest-grossing film ever at the Kerala box office, beating 2023 blockbuster survival thriller 2018 Movie in just 16 days. ## The film, directed by Tharun Moorthy, grossed approximately 90.25 crores in Kerala in 16 days and surpassed the lifetime Kerala gross of 2018, which was around 88.50 crores. The movie is now marching towards the rare 100 crore club in the state, and it is expected to achieve the feat this week. ## At the worldwide box office, Thudarum is set to cross 200 crores gross collection today, on its 17th day after grossing approximately 196 crores in the first 16 days (through the third Saturday). It will become only the third Malayalam movie of all time after Manjummel Boys (241 crore) and Empuraan (267 crore) to enter the 200 crore club. ## In 16 days so far, the movie has minted around 109 crore gross in India, which is the third highest for a Malayalam movie, and around 86 crore gross at the overseas box office. 'Godzilla x Kong' Sequel Gets Official Title and Release Date

Pictures and Legendary Pictures have announced the official first look title of its next Monsterverse film, the sequel to Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (2024). ## Directed by Grant Sputore, the film has been titled as Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, and it is currently in production. The movie will hit the big screen on March 26, 2027, the studio re-confirmed its previous release date announcement. ## Along with the title announcement, a short teaser was also released, which shows an office for Monarch, the shadowy organisation that tracks the gigantic, city-destroying monsters called Titans, where a computer gives a real-life hotline that fans can call to receive an automated message. It achieved the milestone of 100 crores net on its second Friday (9th day). ## Directed by Rajkumar Gupta, the sequel is looking to score around 5 crore net today, which will take its total collection to around 101 crore in 9 days. The movie has shown a strong hold with almost zero drop today, which indicates a strong second weekend. ## Raid 2 is the 4th Bollywood film of 2025 after Sikandar (110 crores), Sky Force (113.50+ crores), and Chhaava (600+ crores) to enter the coveted 100 crores net club. In this process, it has become the third-highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time. ## Directed by Tharun Moorthy, Thudarum has crossed Tovino Thomas' 2023 survival thriller 2018 Movie (180 crores) as I type this on its 14th day to become the third biggest grosser, behind only Manjummel Boys (241 crores) and Empuraan (266.50+ crores). ## Thudarum had scored approximately 120 crores gross in its first week, while the second week is heading towards around 65 crores with less than 50% drop, which is excellent. The movie performed better than expected to score the second biggest opening weekend of the year for Bollywood. ## Directed by Rajkumar Gupta, Raid 2 took a very good opening domestically to score approximately 23 crores gross (19.25 crores net) upon its Thursday release before showing strong hold over the weekend. It grossed approximately 85 crores (71.50 crores net) in India in the 4-day weekend, which is the second biggest weekend of the year after Chhaava.## At the overseas box office, Raid 2 performed low to score 13.50 crores gross, for the worldwide opening weekend of around 98.50 crores. It will be entering the 100 crores club worldwide today, and will become the 6th Bollywood film of the year to do so. ## Meanwhile, Raid 2 is on course to become the 4th Bollywood title of 2025 to score 100 crores net collection after Sikandar, Sky Force, and Chhaava. Los Angeles, May 5 - Marvel Studios' Thunderbolts has finished the first weekend at the worldwide box office with $162+ million, slightly under industry projection. The movie, however, is expected to have solid legs with positive word of mouth and critics' reviews by its side. ## The Jake Schreier's directorial blockbuster ignited the domestic (North America) box office with a $76 million 3-day opening weekend, higher than the industry projection. Marvel movies tend to open with much higher collections, but this is a very good start for a new superhero movie, which features lesser-known Marvel heroes. ## The domestic opening of Thunderbolts* is in line with Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings ($75 million) and Eternals ($71 million), which also introduced newer Marvel protagonists. As per Variety, the film will have a strong run due to WOM and reviews, which are among the highest for a Marvel tentpole. ## The overseas box office, Thunderbolts, came below the industry's projection with $86 million during the 5-day weekend in 53 markets. This is lower than Enternals ($90 million) but better than Shang-Chi ($56 million). The film struck $162 million worldwide opening weekend, which is on par with Eternals. ## China was the biggest international market for the film with $10.4 million, followed by the UK ($7.7 million) and Mexico ($7.3 million).
