Los Angeles, June 28 - A few days ago, a rumour surfaced on social media that Disney Studio has offered Hollywood superstar Johnny Depp a whopping $301 million deal to return to the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise to reprise the role of Captain Jack Sparrow. ## The rumor was started by the Australian gossip site Poptopic (according to New York Post). However, the latest development is that there are no such talks happening at the moment. According to Marca, Depp's spokesperson has denied rumors of the actor holding talks with Disney to reprise the iconic role. ## Johnny Depp was earlier kicked out by Disney from the "Pirates of the Caribbean" film franchise after his ex-wife Amber Heard accused him of domestic violence. However, Depp recently won the legal battle against heard which rumoured to lead Disney to apologize to him. ## During his defamation trial against Amber Heard, Depp's legal team argued that Disney dropped him from the Pirates franchise following his ex-wife's 2018 Washington Post op-ed, in which she describes herself as a domestic abuse victim.## During Depp's cross-examination, Heard's lawyer Ben Rottenborn confronted the actor with a statement he had made to the press and asked "If Disney came to you with $300 million and a million alpacas, nothing on this earth would get you to go back and work with Disney on a 'Pirates of the Caribbean' film, correct?"## "That is true", Depp replied. Akshay Kumar-Fronted 'Capsule Gill' Brings Stunning Supporting Cast Onboard

Mumbai, June 28 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is all set to kickstart the shooting for his next film. He is currently shooting for the Hindi remake of the Tamil movie "Soorarai Pottru" which is expected to wrap up in the next few days.## Akshay will next take up Pooja Entertainment and Kyta Productions' joint production "Capsule Gill", which is based on the life of former additional chief mining engineer, Jaswant Singh Gill. The movie is set against the backdrop of the 1989 Raniganj coal mining disaster during which Gill carried out a rescue operation and saved the lives of 64 workers trapped in a flooded coal mine. ## According to Peepingmoon.com, the shooting of the film will commence on July 4th in the UK. "The pre-production and all have been completed and the team will fly to the UK on June 29th". Akshay will reportedly shoot there till July 31st and then return to India for the promotion of Raksha Bandhan. He will resume shooting for this film in September in Mumbai, followed by two short schedules in Raigarh and Raniganj later this year, per report.## "Capsule Gill" will be directed by Suresh Desai and it will feature Parineeti Chopra as the female lead opposite Akshay. It will mark their second film together after "Kesari". Meanwhile, the makers have reportedly brought an ensemble supporting cast on board the movie. ## The same report states that the movie will feature Kumud Mishra, Pawan Malhotra, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, and Ravi Kishan in key roles along with Virendra Saxena, Varun Badola, Rajesh Sharma, and Ananth Mahadevan. Parineeti will reportedly play Akshay's wife in the movie. It opened with a bang at the box office and scored a whopping opening weekend of 110.80 crores gross in India, which is the biggest for a Tamil movie in 2022. Bengaluru, June 27 - Rakshit Shetty's adventure comedy-drama film, 777 Charlie has continued its dream run and scored yet another excellent weekend at the domestic box office.## Directed by Kiranraj K, "777 Charlie" became the highest-grossing film of Rakshit Shetty's career by topping "Avane Srimannarayana" (ASN). It had grossed 76 crores through the second Tuesday at the worldwide box office. This was enough for it to outshine "Avane Srimannarayana (ASN)" to become the biggest movie of Shetty's career.## Produced by Rakshit Shetty, and G. S. Gupta, the movie scored another 8.55 crores net in its 3rd weekend, which takes the total net collection to 73.05 crores, including 59.13 crores in the original Kannada languages. At the overseas box office, it has minted approx. 5.50 crores gross so far, pushing worldwide gross to 89.50 crores in 17 days. ## "777 Charlie" will become the first 100 crores worldwide grosser for Rakshit Shetty. Mumbai, June 26 - Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise, at the age of 59, has scored an unbelievable milestone at the box office as his action drama film Top Gun Maverick has raced past the $1 billion mark globally.## The Paramount/Skydance movie has become only the second title to reach the milestone during the covid-19 pandemic and the first for Tom Cruise in his entire career. According to Deadline, the movie has scored an estimated $1.006B worldwide, including domestic's (North America) estimated $521.7M and $484.7M from the international box office through Sunday. It took just 31 days to break into a $1 billion global haul. ## The sequel to 1986's "Top Gun" scored $900 million last Monday, and a few days prior had topped $800M to become Cruise's biggest movie ever at the worldwide box office. Hailed as one of the greatest movie sequels ever made in Hollywood history, the movie is now the second-highest-grossing movie during the pandemic after "Spier-Man: No Way Home" ($1.89B) worldwide. ## Directed by Joseph Kosinski, "Top Gun 2" has been on a record-breaking run since its debut in late May. It scored Cruise's biggest overseas and domestic debuts, and despite the release of "Jurassic World Dominion" in the following weekend, it remained unaffected overseas as well as domestically. ## "Top Gun Maverick's" performance is a testament to the work that Paramount's distribution and marketing teams put behind it, while Cruise himself deserves massive credit for visiting several countries to promote the movie. The actor hasn't started shooting for his portion yet and said that he would be meeting with director Prashanth Neel to find dates for the movie. ## Prithviraj also said that he was offered "Salaar" two years ago and he immediately said yes as he found the story very interesting. However, due to the covid-19 pandemic, a lot of things changed which tempted Prithviraj to back out from the project because he too had his other commitments. ## Prabhas, who is playing the title role of Salaar, convinced Prithviraj to do the role which he agreed upon. He will be playing a very important role for which the details are yet to be known. The movie is produced by Hombale Films which has bankrolled mega-blockbuster KGF films. ## "Salaar" stars Shruti Haasan as the female lead while it also stars Jagapathi Babu, Madhu Guruswamy, and Easwari Rao in key roles. It has now been reported that the "Sooryavanshi" actor has signed one more film with director Mudassar Aziz titled "Khel Khel Mein". ## According to Pinkvilla, director Mudassar has been discussing "Khel Khel Mein" with Khiladi Kumar for a while now and the actor has finally greenlit the movie. It falls in the place of an out-and-out comic entertainer. The movie will reportedly be produced by Bhushan Kumar and Ashwin Varde, however, the timelines for the shoot are not known yet. ## Akshay Kumar is currently shooting for the Hindi remake of the Tamil movie "Soorarai Pottru". It is being directed by Sudha Kongara who helmed the original movie.
