Producer Bhushan Kumar Reveals Ajay Devgn's 'Raid 2' Enter Pre-Production Stage

Mumbai, May 30 - A sequel to Ajay Devgn's 2018's hit Raid has been in the talks for a long time now. It was even reported that the Raid 2 script had been locked and it would go on floors this year. Now, producer Bhushan Kumar has revealed that the movie is indeed in development but will go on floors only by next year. ## "The world had stopped for 2 years, but yes, Raid 2 is under production. Kumar Ji (Producer, Kumar Mangat) already has multiple ideas in place for Raid 2, he has in fact collated a lot of incidents that can be used in the Raid franchise. We will choose the best idea and then move ahead", the producer told Pinkvilla in a recent interview. ## "I already have two films with Ajay Ji - Bholaa and Drishyam 2 - so the Raid sequel will begin next year. Before that, we are remaking Raid down south. It's under discussion", he added. ## Raid, directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, is based on the real-life income-tax raid conducted by the officers of the Income Tax Department on Sardar Inder Singh in the 1980s. The raid distinguished itself from others for being the longest raid in Indian history, lasting three days and two nights. ## Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn is currently juggling between the shoots of Bholaa, and Drishyam 2. Sajid Nadiadwala Inks 6-Films Post Theatrical Streaming Deal With Amazon Prime Video

Mumbai, May 30 - Producer Sajid Nadiadwala hasn't had a good year so far with two back-to-back bombs in the form of Akshay Kumar's Bachchhan Paandey and Tiger Shroff-starrer Heropanti 2. Both the movies premiered on Amazon Prime Video after their theatrical release and now, the producer has once again joined hands with a streamer for his upcoming movies. ## Sajid Nadiadwala's production house Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment announced through social media that its upcoming movie will be available on Prime Video rather sooner after its theatrical releases. It is said that the production house has inked a 6-films deal with the streamer. The film beat all the biggies except mega-blockbuster The Kashmir Files to score the 2nd biggest second weekend for a Bollywood movie in 2022. ## Directed by Anees Bazmee, BB2 minted 30.64 crores net, exceeding all the expectations in the second weekend. It kicked off the weekend with a very good 6.52 crores, before hitting a double-digit mark each on Saturday and Sunday with 11.35 crores and 12.77 crores, respectively. Despite the final of IPL 2022, the movie didn't witness much drop in night shows. ## Here are the Top 3 Bollywood movies with the highest 2nd-weekend collections in 2022 - ## 1. The Paramount/Skydance's actioner, Top Gun: Maverick, took off with a massive $252.70 million worldwide through Sunday. This is the biggest ever global opening of Tom Cruise's career on a like-for-like basis. ## At the domestic (North America) box office, the sequel to 1986's pic opened to the Cruise's career-best $126.7 million (Fri-Sun) also including $19.3 Thursday previews. The 4-day Memorial Day weekend reached $160 million. The opening of Top Gun 2 is almost double the War of the Worlds ($65M), which was the biggest opening for Cruise. ## Directed by Joseph Kosinski, the movie opened in 62 international markets on the opening weekend and grossed a spectacular $126 million, which is the biggest ever for Cruise, surpassing Mission: Impossible: Fallout by 28 percent, as per Deadline. Among the international markets, it scored the biggest opening ever in 32 markets for the actor. ## The Top 10 overseas markets of Top Gun 2 are as follows, through Sunday - 1. the UK $19.4M, 2. Directed by Anees Bazmee, the sequel to 2006's classic hit scored an excellent 11.35 crores net on the second Saturday, pushing the total net collection to 109.92 crores in just 9 days. ## "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2" is a special film for the Hindi film industry as it provided much-needed oxygen to the industry amid a few mishits at the box office. Meanwhile, BB2 has also become the 100th film in Hindi to enter the 100 crores net club and is currently at number 81 in the all-time biggest scorers in Hindi. Chennai, May 29 - Tamil summer blockbuster, Don has become the highest-grossing film ever for actor Sivakarthikeyan whose rise over the years has been phenomenal. After scoring his first 100 crores grosser in the form of Doctor in October last year, Siva has done it again, and this time with much more ease. ## Directed by debutante Cibi Chakaravarthi, "Don" has so far grossed approx. 105 crores worldwide through the third Saturday. The coming-of-age romantic comedy breached the 100 crores gross mark in just two weeks which also took it past "Doctor" to become the biggest grosser for Siva. "Doctor" had grossed a little over 100 crores worldwide. ## "Don" is a big hit in the home state Tamil Nadu as it has grossed approx. 67 crores in the state through 3rd Friday. It is among the biggest grosser in Tamil Nadu this year with "Beast", "Valimai", "KGF Chapter 2", and "RRR".
