Akshay Kumar To Play Legendary Indian Army Officer Ian Cardozo In Anand L Rai's 'Gorkha'!

Mumbai, October 15 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is making some huge unexpected movie announcements off late. Having multiple projects already in the pipeline, Akshay's hands are full of upcoming films, yet he is in no mood to put a break on his busy schedule. ## Ahead of the release of his big-budget actioner "Sooryavanshi", Akshay Kumar has finalized one more film, which will go on floors next year. The actor has teamed up with producer Anand L Rai once again for a film based on the life of the legendary officer of the Gorkha regiment of the Indian Army, Major General Ian Cardozo. ## Akshay will portray Ian Cardozo, who was awarded Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (SVSM) and Sena Medal (SM) for his service to the Indian army. Major Ian Cardozo was the first war-disabled officer of the Indian Army to command a battalion and a brigade. Titled "Gorkha", the movie will be directed by the National award-winning director Sanjay PS Chauhan. Sanjay Chauhan has two films to his name - Lahore (2010), Bahattar Hoorain (2019).## Chauhan won the National award for direction for Bahattar Hoorain and for the best debut film for Lahore. It will be his first collaboration with Akshay and Anand L Rai, who will be producing the film in association with Himanshu Sharma. The feature film will reportedly star Ranbir Kapoor as Ram and Hrithik Roshan as Ravan while the search for the role of Sita is underway. The movie will officially be announced once all three main characters finalize.## Meanwhile, Nitesh Tiwari is also showing his interest in author Satyam Srivastava's "The Wielder of the Trishul" mythological fictional book. The "Dangal" director launched the book in Mumbai on Wednesday (October 14) where he hints that he might adapt it for a feature film, "if it's something very exciting".## When asked if he would like to make a movie out of the book he had just released, he said, "It is a tough question. I think I will be very honest here; I would want to finish reading the book because for me entire story arch is really important. The end has got me more intrigued. Once I finish the book and if it is something very exciting as a story, I'd say why not".## Tiwari praised the author for his narrative, which he said was easy for readers to follow. "Satyam has taken mythology and put it in a slightly fictional place, but the book still has a lot of mythological characters who exist in our literature, such as our gods and goddesses. He has integrated both elements nicely. The place where the story is taking place is fictional, but the characters are familiar, so there is a sense of excitement and familiarity as well", he added. ## Meanwhile, the epic "Ramayana" has been in development for a long time now and some of the Oscar-winning team of artists is working on the film. It will jointly be directed by Nitesh Tiwari and Ravi Udyawar while Madhu Mantena, Allu Arvind, and Namit Malhotra will be producing it. Bangalore, October 14 - The big-ticket Kannada film, Kotigobba 3 starring Kichcha Sudeepa was all set to release worldwide today on October 14. However, the financial issues between the producer and distributors played a spoilsport as the morning shows for the film got canceled.## Reportedly, the film's producer, Soorappa Babu, hasn't paid one of the film's financiers because of which the early morning shows have been canceled. This unfortunate situation left Kichcha's fans in anger as they raised slogans demanding the immediate release of the film and refused to leave theaters.## Now, Kichcha Sudeepa released a statement asking his fans to be patient and not damage the theatres. The actor also apologizes for the negligence from the cornered people and promised that his future films will not see such chaotic releases. The actor recently shoot some additional scenes for "Antim: The Final Truth", which will get a theatrical release on November 26. ## Salman Khan will now resume the final leg of Tiger 3 in Mumbai. The last schedule is expected to go on for six weeks before calling shoot wrap on YRF's film by November end. "The team of this Maneesh Sharma directorial will be shooting some action and dramatic scenes over this schedule with Salman, Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi", a source told Pinkvilla.## The Bajrangi Bhaijaan actor, after completing Tiger 3 shoot, will reportedly begin shooting for Chiranjeevi starrer "Godfather". "MS Dhoni is not charging any honorarium for his services as the mentor of the Indian team for the T20 World Cup", he said.## The 40-year-old Dhoni retired from international cricket last year, his last India game being the 2019 World Cup semi-final, which the team lost to New Zealand. Mumbai, October 13 - Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon have been confirmed to reunite in Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo's Hindi remake titled "Shehzada". Directed by Rohit Dhawan, "Shehzada" has been in development for a long time and was supposed to be announced last year. However, the covid-19 pandemic delayed the announcement before the makers made the movie official on October 13.## "Shehzada" is being produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Allu Arvind, Aman Gill, and S Radhe Krishna under their banners of T-Series, Geetha Arts, Brat Films, and Haarika & Hassine Creations respectively. The romantic musical action drama also stars Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Ronit Bose Roy, and Sachin Khedkar in key roles. ## Gear up for a family action packed musical, #Shehzada. The shooting of has been commenced on October 12 in Mumbai with the principal cast while Pritam has been roped in to score music. The makers have also set the release date of the film in theaters on 4 November 2022. ## Meanwhile, Kartik Aaryan recently wrapped up shooting for Freddy and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which are gearing up to release next year. The actor also has Sajid Nadiadwala's yet-untitled love story under his kitty, which is directed by Sameer Vidhwans.## On the other hand, Kriti Sanon has several projects in the pipeline, one of them is, action thriller, "Ganapath", which stars Tiger Shroff in the title role.
