An FIR Against T-Series Head, Bhushan Kumar Registered In Alleged Rape Case

Mumbai, July 16, 2021: The Managing Director of T-Series, Bhushan Kumar has been accused of an alleged rape case. DN Nagar police station in Andheri (West), Mumbai, has registered a First Information Report (FIR) on the complaint of a 30-year old woman. ## The woman claimed that she was allegedly raped by Kumar on the pretext of giving her a job in one of his upcoming projects. Taking action on it, Mumbai Police has registered an FIR under section 376 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for a case of rape. Mumbai, July 16, 2021: Sony Pictures Films India, known for its acclaimed successful films such as Piku, Padman, Soorma, 102 Not Out, and Shakuntala Devi, has now joined hands with Ram and Amita Madhvani's Ram Madhvani Films (RMF) for a big-screen underwater thriller film, titled "Dive". ## Written by Renuka Kunzru, "Dive" is the first-of-its-kind survival thriller film in India. The movie will mark the directorial debut of a well know ad filmmaker with Equinox Films (owned by Ram and Amita), Nitin Parmar. Neerja Narayanan will be serving as an independent executive producer. The Andhra Pradesh Government also has permitted theatres to reopen with 50% seating capacity. ## As the theaters are waiting for films to release on the big screens, the top producers and distributors of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have been meeting on a regular basis to discuss the further course of film releases in Telugu states. While a few films have already opted for direct-to-digital release, the movies such as Love Story, Tuck Jagadish, Most Eligible Bachelor, Seetimaar, among others gearing up for a theatrical release. ## Recently, Satyadev's Thimmarasu was announced for the July 30th release in theaters, becoming the first theatrical release announcement post the second covid-19 wave. Now, as per the latest development, Nani's "Tuck Jagadish" will be the first big-ticket Telugu movie to hit screens. The makers have reportadly finalized the July 30 release on a record number of screens. ## Tuck Jagadish, directed by Shiva Nirvana and produced by Sahu Garapati and Harish Peddi, is an action-masala film. Apart from Nani, the movie also stars Ritu Varma, Aishwarya Rajesh, and Jagapathi Babu in prominent roles while the music is composed by S. Thaman. ## On the other hand, Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi starrer romantic drama film, Love Story, is also gearing up for August 13th release in theaters. Mumbai, July 15, 2021: Versatile actress, Taaspee Pannu has joined hands with Pranjal Khandhdiya to launch her own production house, Outsiders Films. Khandhdiya will handle the on-the-ground aspects of production, while Pannu will deal with the creative side, including script selection. ## The first film under Outsiders Films will be "Blurr". It is a thriller film that will be headlined by Taapsee herself. It will be directed by Ajay Bahl (B.A. Pass, Section 375) and will jointly be produced by Zee Studios, Outsiders Films, and Echelon Productions. Each Test In WTC 2021-23 To Carry Same Points Weightage As ICC Confirms Points Structure For Next WTC Cycle

Mumbai, July 15, 2021: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed the points structure for the 2021-23 World Test Championship cycle. Departing from a system where every series carried 120 points, the teams in WTC2 will now get 12 points for a win, 6 points for a tie, and 4 points for a draw. ## Same as the first WTC, the top 9 teams in the ICC ranking will play 6 series each: 3 home and 3 away, with the teams' rankings in WTC 2 will be determined by the percentage of points won. The championship will kick-off from August with England taking on the runner-up of WTC 1, India in the 5-match series. ## "We received feedback that the previous points system needed to be simplified", the ICC's acting chief executive Geoff Allardice said in a statement. "The Cricket Committee took this into consideration when proposing a new, standardized points system for each match. It maintained the principle of ensuring that all matches in a WTC series count towards a team's standing while accommodating series varying in length between two Tests and five Tests". ## "During the pandemic, we had to change to ranking teams on the points table using the percentage of available points won by each team, since all series could not be completed. This helped us determine the finalists and we were able to complete the championship within the scheduled time frame. This method also allowed us to compare the relative performance of teams at any time, regardless of how many matches they had played", he added. ## Day-night matches can be included in a series by participating teams but four-day Test matches won't be a part of the championship. Chennai, July 13, 2021: The Madras High Court has slammed Tamil superstar Vijay for seeking tax exemption for his Rolls Royce Ghost, which he bought in 2012 in England. Dismissing a writ petition filed by actor Joseph Vijay in 2012, the HC also slapped a fine of ₹1 lakh to be paid by him to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund.## Justice S.M. Subramaniam came down heavily on the actor and said that his fans consider him a real hero in Tamil Nadu. Thus, the actors should behave accordingly and not reel heroes. The HC also criticized Mr. Vijay for not having even disclosed his occupation in the affidavit filed in support of his case.## "It is surprising to note that the petitioner has not even stated his profession or occupation in his affidavit. He has imported a prestigious costly car from England but unfortunately, not paid entry tax as per the statutes. He has filed a writ petition to avoid payment of tax... The petitioner, who is a reputed cine actor, is expected to pay the tax promptly and punctually", the judge said.## "In the State of Tamil Nadu, cine heroes have risen as rulers of the State and therefore, the people are under the impression that they are real heroes. Thus, they are not expected to behave like reel heroes. Tax evasion is to be construed as an anti-national habit, attitude and mindset and unconstitutional", he added.## "The common men are motivated and encouraged to behave as lawful citizens and pay tax and to thrive hard to achieve social justice in the society. If the rich, affluent and reputed persons fail to pay the tax as applicable, then this Court with pain, records that it would be a long way to achieve the constitutional goals", the court obesereved. ## Meanwhile, on the work front, Vijay is currently shooting for his next film titled "Beast" with director Nelson Dilipkumar.
