MS Dhoni is good but Jos Buttler is at peak of his powers - Tim Paine

Is there any better wicketkeeper-batsman than England's Jos Buttler at this moment in the world?. Well Australian stand-in skipper Tim Paine don't think so.## After humiliating 5-0 lose to England, Australia's stand-in skipper said that it is a hard time for Australian cricket. But he was nothing sort in praising England's wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler and reckons that he is the best wicketkeeper-batsman in the world at the moment.## "He's good. He's very good," said the Australia captain. “Right now, at the moment, he'd have to be the best white-ball wicket-keeper batsman in the world. I don't think there are too many guys to challenge him. MS Dhoni is pretty good, but right at this moment, Jos is at the absolute peak of his powers.## “He understands his one-day game so well and knows his strengths inside-out and just doesn't go away from him. He's someone for our batters to watch and see first-hand. Those experiences are going to be really good for D'Arcy Short or Travis Head, to see him and Jonny Bairstow and Jason Roy at their best.”## Jos Buttler helped England to whitewash Australia with a sublime 110* in the final ODI where he single-handedly took his side over the line. He awarded Man Of The Match for his match-winning knock as well as Man Of The Series for scoring 275 runs in 5 innings with an astonishing average of 137.50.## England's skipper Eoin Morgan wasn't stingy with his words to praising his teammates after his brilliant performance in final ODI.## "To produce an innings like that when we needed, and to engage in partnerships with … they’re not tail-enders, they’re our lower order … it’s something that we saw in the past as well (from Buttler) and it’s something that is taken for granted,” said Morgan.## “He used all his experience today, particularly on a wicket that was two-paced, and managed to get us over the line somehow. When he plays like that, he creates a lot of belief in the changing room and amongst the guys, and that rubs off on the confidence level as well. Outstanding.”## England whitewash Australia which is their first ever whitewash over their arch-rivals in one-day cricket. On the other hand, after losing 5-0, Australia slipped to 6th rank which is their lowest since 1984 in ODIs.## For more updates and news, stay tuned to us.## Thanks for the reading.

Looking forward to travel and play difficult cricket - Virat Kohli

Indian skipper Virat Kohli and coach Ravi Shastri were all pumped up before heading to Ireland and the United Kingdom tour where India will play 2 T20s against Ireland and 3 T20s, 3 ODIs and 5 Tests against England.## Virat Kohli who missed out Afghanistan's Test due to the neck injury was talking to the media in New Delhi on Friday, June 22 along with coach Shastri.## Kohli has been moved on from last England tour where he failed to make an impact and expecting from people to get over of it.## "I think a lot of people have held on to the last tour for too long. We've had the Champions Trophy as well which has totally been forgotten - I don't think that was in Bangladesh. I was asked this question when we reached England (what are you looking forward to?), and I said taking a walk and having coffee on the street. My thinking is very different when I go on a tour, I literally am looking forward to enjoying the country, am not even thinking of the cricket. I know if I'm in a good zone, I will play well. If I think like how people are thinking on the outside, then things don't happen.## Virat is excited to get back on the field after missing Afghanistan Test and looking forward to playing abroad.## "This is just another series for me individually, but for us as a team, this is a very exciting time. After what happened in South Africa, we're actually looking forward to playing more difficult Test cricket. That I feel is the best thing that can happen.## "You don't want to go to England saying, 'Oh the Test series in one month'. We want it to actually be sooner. That's the kind of excitement we take along with us. It's the same case with the ODIs and the T20s. It's just a great phase for Indian cricket."## When it comes to fitness, no one can match Virat Kohli even though he missed out a Test due to injury he is one of the fittest players of this generation.## "I'm 100% ready to go. The neck is fine now. I have had six to seven sessions in Mumbai. I have had a good practice. I am absolutely ready to go. Went through a fitness test as well so the body is feeling fine. I'm actually excited to get back on the field which is a very rare thing when you play so much cricket but I think these sort of breaks really help and mentally they make you fresh and excited to go back on the pitch again," Kohli said.## "In hindsight, I feel what has happened is the best for me. I wanted (to experience) the more difficult phase of those conditions. I wanted the wet and damp conditions where Puji [Cheteshwar Pujara], Ishant and Varun played in. But in hindsight, if I was 90% with my body and used to the conditions rather than 110% and fresh, I'd much rather be where I am today."## Coach Ravi Shastri also believes that fitness enhanced your ability to do well and play good cricket. He was talking about benefits of Yo-Yo test which has become mandatory for selection in the team.## "You have a certain ability, but if you're fit then that same ability gets enhanced. And that's why we emphasise on this yo-yo thing. And whoever thinks it's a one-off, he's sadly mistaken. He can take a walk. The philosophy is simple. You pass, you play. You fail, you sit. The captain leads from the front, the selectors are on the same page, the entire team management is on the same page and the boys have responded extremely well."## Virat said this time its ideal condition for us as we will get enough time before playing 5-match Test series, unlike last time where India play Test cricket before limited overs series.## "Preparation, it's ideal. You get to play ODIs, then T20s and by the time the Test starts, it's already a month. There's a lot of time to acclimatise. The plan is the same as that was in South Africa, against Sri Lanka, and what was there before. The strategy doesn't change. Mindset doesn't change if we don't perform in one series or another. Our focus is on cricket. We don't have to do anything different. We have to play with a match-winning mindset. It's not about individual players, it's about the team."## For more updates and news, stay tuned to us.## Thanks for the reading.##

Spinners will be key as conditions are ideal for India to win in England - Anil Kumble

Former Indian coach and the highest wicket-taker for India in Test, legendary Anil Kumble believes that this time India will have a great chance to win the Test series when they take on England for the 5-match series in England.## This will also be a chance for Virat & Co to assert their supremacy as the No.1-ranked side in the world as conditions will be ideal for India, feels Kumble.## "I feel we possess a good all-around unit. We have a strong bowling group which can pick 20 wickets consistently. If you look at the batting line-up, we possess a lot of experience.## "On an average, the number of Test matches played by our batsmen stands at about 50. Also, the experience of having toured there before will definitely help as they will be aware of the conditions," said Kumble, during an event on Thursday evening.## However, Kumble feels spinners will play a key role this time around. The wickets in the month of July and August will be more suitable for the spinners and that will help in India's chances this time.## "Spinners will definitely play a major role on this tour of England. In the second half of the summer, we do know that the wickets will be more suitable for them. There will be wear and tear on the wickets, and spinners will come into play much earlier than in the first half," Kumble said.## "Conditions in the first half - in the months of May and June - are more challenging in England (for spinners) because of the rain and dampness," he added.## Apart from England tour, Anil Kumble also backs BCCI's approach towards yo-yo test after it's been criticised in recent time as Mohammad Shami and Ambati Rayudu had been dropped from the Test and ODI squad after failing in this fitness test.## "I am sure every player would have been told that this is the benchmark. This is the test and this is the number you need to get or else you are not going to be there is what would have probably been communicated to them (by the board)," he said.## For more updates and news, stay tuned to us.## Thanks for the reading.

Arjun will be treated like other players - Says U-19 bowling Coach Sanath Kumar

Since Indian U-19 team has been announced, there is a lot of talk about Legendary Sachin Tendulkar's son Arjun Tendulkar, who also selected in the squad for Sri Lanka tour.## All eyes will be on him Arjun Tendulkar when India will take on Sri Lanka. However, India's U-19 new bowling coach Sanath Kumar said that he will be treated like other players in the team.## When he was asked how will Arjun be treated in the team as there has already been a lot of talk about his selection, to which Sanath Kumar told PTI,## "I don't know about that as it's not my area of concern but as a coach, all the boys are equal for me. For me, Arjun is no different from other kids. My job is to bring the best out of each and every one of them."## Kumar has successfully coached smaller states as Assam to Ranji Trophy semi-finals and Andhra to Vijay Hazare semi-finals and will be coaching a national team for the second time as he had already coached Indian women's team in 2008.## "I worked as a coach with Indian women's team in 2008 during their tour of England. This time I am contracted to work till the end of the U-19 Asia Cup in Bangladesh in October," Kumar told.## However, Sanath Kumar believes that it's not possible to work a lot on technique in short span of time but he will be keen to work more on the strategic part.## "Look, in a short span of time, you can't really work a lot on the technical aspect as they will be playing matches. I would like to focus more on the strategic part. Would like to prepare the boys for match situations with simulations," he said.## "For any fast bowler, the more he can land the ball on the seam, the more effective he can be. So landing the ball on the seam and how to use the crease, bowling closer to the stumps are certain aspects I would like to focus during the camp," Kumar said.## Keep in mind, Sanath Kumar named coach of the U-19 team in the place for Paras Mhambrey, who is on India A duty for England tour.## For more updates and news, stay tuned to us.## Thanks for the reading.

Raina to replace Rayudu for England ODI series

Suresh Raina is all set to make his ODI comeback as Ambati Rayudu has been out of the England tour for ODI series. Rayudu who initially named in ODI squad couldn't clear yo-yo fitness test, therefore, Raina named his replacement. ## BCCI confirmed on Saturday, June 16.## It is a necessity to clear yo-yo test for selection in the national squad. But unfortunately, Rayudu couldn't clear the basic 16.1 mark. ## He is the second player to be dropped from the team as recently, pacer Mohammad Shami had also been dropped from the Test squad.## On the other hand, Rayudu's replacement Raina has been picked in ODI team after more than 2 years. He last played an ODI match against South Africa in October 2015. With this selection Raina's world cup hopes are alive.## Raina was impressive in recently concluded Indian premier league where he had scored 445 runs with an average of 37 for Chennai Super Kings. He had also made his comeback in T20I against South Africa earlier this year.## It will be interesting to see whether he will be picked in playing XI with KL Rahul, Dinesh Karthik and Shreyas Iyer are already in the squad and are keen to fix their middle order spot.## Revised ODI Squad: ## Virat Kohli (C), Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni (WK), Dinesh Karthik, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Washington Sundar, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Siddarth Kaul, Umesh Yadav ## For more updates and news, stay tuned to us.## Thanks for the reading.##

We wanted to be ruthless - Ajinkya Rahane

It was the contest between number 1 Test team India and newly entered in Test cricket Afghanistan. After being successful in ODIs and T20s, it was expected from Afghanistan to do well in the longer version of the cricket also. But unfortunately,, they couldn't make their mark as they lost by an innings and 262 to India within two days on Friday June 15.## On the other hand, it was India who was faverioute to win before going into the match against Afghanistan. But with the way they had won the match, shows that how dominating team India has became in Test cricket.## Even though India were playing without their star batsman Virat Kohli still they were ruthless. After crushing Afghanistan with bat, it took only two sessions to dismissed Afghanistan's batting and handed them huge defeat within two days.## "This feels really special. It is always an honour to lead your country and we wanted to be ruthless. Guys like Vijay and Shikhar got those hundreds, Rahul chipped in and Pandya was magnificent in the end. It was important for all of us to stick to our basics, create some good habits, but credit to Afghanistan, they were fantastic" ## "From here on it is only upwards and onwards for them. Their seamers bowled really well, especially in the third session yesterday (day 1) and I'm sure they will go a long way against all opponents," India's stand in skipper Ajinkya Rahane said in post match presentation ceremony.## However, it wasn't a good outing for Afghanistan as result didn't go in their way. But they will be hoping that they will take this experience going further.## "First thanks to BCCI and Afghanistan Cricket Board to have given us this opporunity. We didn't play Test match before this and we've learnt a lot. In the future when we play a match, we now know how to play a match against a full member nation like India" ## "Yes we were surprised by how quickly things ended because we were a good team. But Test cricket is completely different ball game, we have a lot if time in we will work on our weakness. A huge thanks to the crowd as well, it felt like we were in Kabul," said Afghanistan's skipper Asghar Stanikzai.## For more updates and news, stay tuned to us.## Thanks for the reading.

Ruthless India dismiss Afghanistan's challenge within two days

Afghanistan's debut Test match could last long only two days as India beat them by an innings and 262 runs in the only Test at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore on Friday, June 15. It took only two sessions for India to dismiss Afghanistan's batting on 109 and 103 respectively after their bowler bounced back to restricted India on 474 runs in first innings.## This is the first instance when a Test match completed inside two days. Also, it was the only 4th time in Test cricket history and the first time against India when a team bowled out twice on the same day.## India had taken control from the day one after their openers scored centuries. KL Rahul also scored a half-century. However, Afghanistan bounced back in the third session of play and took 5 wickets as India ended the day with 347 for 6.## On the second day, Hardik Pandya carried India's innings with 71 off 94 balls before they bowled out on 474 on the stroke of lunch. Umesh Yadav scored a quick fire 26* off 21 balls and gave a valuable contribution in lower down the order. Yamin Ahmadzai was the pickup bowler for Afghanistan as he picked 3 wickets for 51 runs in 19 overs.## In reply of 474, Afghanistan 1st innings was crumbled by Ishant Sharma and Ravichandran Ashwin as they could last only 27.5 overs to bowled out on 109. Ashwin took 4 wickets while Ishant grabbed 2 wickets.## With trailing by 365, India gave follow-on to Afghanistan. However, their story wasn't different from the first innings. This time they took 38.4 overs before bowling out to 103. Led by Umesh Yadav's 3 for 26, Ravindra Jadeja 4 for 17 wrapped up things quickly.## Umesh Yadav ripped through Afghan's top order before Jadeja came to kill their lower order. Only Mohammad Nabi 24 in the first innings and skipper Asghar Stanikzai 25 in second innings could show some resistance. But unfortunately for them, none of the other batsmen could last long.## Shikhar Dhawan received Man Of The Match for his brilliant 107 runs.## For more updates and news, stay tuned to us.## Thanks for the reading.

I used to Rashid's bowling - Shikhar Dhawan

It was a historic moment for Afghanistan as they were playing their first ever test match but it was Indian openers who grabbed all the attention. Both Murli Vijay and Shikhar Dhawan scored a century. It was Dhawan who stole the show as he became first Indian batsman to score a hundred before Lunch on Day 1 in a Test.## Dhawan was aggressive from the ball one and took all the Afghanistan's bowler all around the park. But his battle against Afghanistan's premier bowler Rashid Khan was the highlight of the Day 1.## Dhawan hammered Rashid Khan for 8 fours and a six in his 107 and didn't allow Rashid to settle. Dhawan credited his success against Rashid to his IPL experience as both the players play for the Same franchise.## "The good thing is that I had faced him [Rashid Khan] in nets for two years because we play for the same team in IPL. So, I was used to his bowling and that helped me," said Dhawan at the end of the day.## After Dhawan's dismissal, Rashid came with a better final spell of 9-2-15-1. But Dhawan feel that every batsman has his own approach to be successful against him and don't think they changed their approach.## "See each one will have different game," he said. "A team is formed of different characters - I am a different character, my game is different to what Vijay's is. Each player has his own qualities. Some people like to step out and play and some others don't prefer that. Each individual has his own game and play accordingly. My strength is to step out and play and I play accordingly."## Apart from Vijay and Dhawan, KL Rahul also scored half century. It will be a happy headache for Indian think tank as all three openers scored runs and are in good form.## For more updates and news, stay tuned to us.## Thanks for the reading.

Shami out of Afghanistan Test after failing in yo-yo test

Mohammad Shami, 27-year old Bengal paceman, is all set to miss the historic Afghanistan Test after failed to prove his fitness at the NCA Bengaluru. Navdeep Saini named his replacement. The BCCI confirmed on Monday, July 11.## Mohammad Shami has been the vital part of Indian test side. Earlier this year, he had played all three matches against South Africa in Africa and ended up with 15 wickets. ## He was one of the main reasons in India's win in the 3rd test where Shami took 6-wickets in second innings.## This could be the huge blow for India and Shami personally if he doesn't get fit ahead of England series in July and Australia later this year as he expected to play the vital role in the overseas season.## Shami's replacement, 25-year old Navdeep Saini impressed in 2017-18 Ranji Trophy season where he picked 34 wickets in 8 matches he played for Delhi. He was also called up to bowl to Indian batsmen during South Africa tour.## Apart from Shami, Kerala's wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson who was picked in India A one-day squad for England tour also failed in this test. ## He will be replaced by Jharkhand's 19-year old Ishan Kishan.## Yo-yo test has become the necessity for selection in the Indian squad. My job is to be ready for the battle - Umesh Yadav

Umesh Yadav was one of the few bowlers who had impressed with his bowling in recently concluded Indian Premier League where he picked 20 wickets in 14 matches.## It was unfortunate that even his best season with the ball couldn't help RCB to qualify for the playoffs as RCB finished their season with number 6 in points table.## Umesh Yadav has credited Ashish Nehra, RCB's bowling coach for his success in IPL. He was talking to Press trust of India where he said,## "Any performer is happy when he successfully executes his plans. I am really happy with my performance in the IPL. It was unfortunate that we could not make it to the playoffs, but it was one of my best IPL seasons".## However, Yadav also believe that Virat Kohli's aggressive approach also helped him in that course.## “Virat (Kohli) had one clear instruction for me. Go for the kill. He told me ‘get me the wickets and do not bother about getting hit’. I did as my skipper told me.” India's overseas season is about to start in July. Umesh Yadav will be one of the key bowlers when India will take on England in 5-match test series. However, Yadav's selection will not be automatic as there are other bowlers who have been performing consistently for India.## Although Yadav is not bothering about his selection and said that his job is to be ready for the match and not thinking about my selection in playing XI.## “It's a happy headache for the team management – the coach and the captain – to pick the best among us,” said Yadav. “I am personally in a very good head space after IPL. My job is to be ready, and the captain and the head coach have their job.## “We are a close-knit group and even when Bhuvi (Bhuvneshwar Kumar) or Jassi (Jasprit Bumrah) do well, I am proud of their achievements. My job is to be battle ready for the season ahead and I am doing just that.”## Keep in mind, Umesh Yadav didn't play a single match when India played three-match series against South Africa. He was sidelined by Jasprit Bumrah who bowled brilliantly against Africa.## It will be interesting to see who will be picked against England as Bumrah despite taking 17 wickets in IPL, he didn't look in best of his touch.## For more updates and news, stay tuned to us.## Thanks for the reading.

Bangladesh create history to win maiden women's Asia Cup title

What a thrilling end of the women's Asia Cup final. But it was Bangladesh who creates history as they beat 6 time Asia cup winner, India by 3 wickets to win first ever Asia cup on Sunday, June 10.## Going into this match, Bangladesh had nothing to lose. They stunned hot favourite India and written their name in history.## Earlier in this match, it was Bangladesh who had won the toss and put India to bat first. India started poorly and lost Smriti Mandhana after getting run out on a team score of 12. Before India could recover, Deepti Sharma (4 off 10) and Mithali Raj (11 off 18) lose their wickets in back to back overs.## Anuja Patil got out to Obstructing field as she changed her direction while running. She scored only 3 off 4 balls. India at one stage was 32 for 4 after 8.2 overs. Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and Veda Krishnamurthy then put up a short but important partnership of 30 off 25 balls before Veda bowled out by skipper Salma Khatun. Tania Bhatia and Shikha Pandey also followed Veda as India reduced to 74 for 7 after 15 overs. ## However, Kaur and Jhulan Goswami put up 33- runs together and gave bowlers something to defend as India finished with 112 for 9 in 20 overs. Kaur led from the front and scored 56 off 42 balls before getting out on this last ball of the innings.## Bangladesh bowled well, Rumana Ahmad was the star with 22 for 2 in 4 overs. Khadija also bowled well and finished her spell with 23 for 2.## In reply of 113, Bangladesh started well and put 35 for the first wicket before Poonam Yadav dismissed both the openers in back to back balls. But Nigar Sultana (27 off 24) and Rumana Ahmad (23 off 22 balls) took the game away from India.## Bangladesh was needed 9 runs to win in last over and skipper Harmanpreet Kaur took the responsibility on her shoulders 5o defend those runs. She conceded 6 runs off first 3 balls but did well on next to ball as she gave only single and got 2 wickets (one run out). 2 required in the last ball, Jahanara Alam pushed towards deep mid wicket and completed two runs and won the Asia Cup.## Poonam Yadav was the star bowler for India as she finished her spell with 9 for 4. She was one of the main reasons this game got to the last over. Kaur also picked 2 wickets for 19 in 2 overs.## Rumana Ahmad awarded Player of the match for her all-around show while Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur received Player of the tournament award.## For more updates and news, stay tuned to us.## Thanks for the reading.
