Steve Smith named captain of Rajasthan Royals for IPL 2018
Steve Smith has been appointed the captain of Rajasthan Royals for the upcoming edition of IPL. Smith was the captain of Rising Pune Supergiant in previous season of IPL where he led RPS to the final and finished second after Mumbai Indians.## Smith replaced Mahendra Singh Dhoni as a captain in the previous season comes with impressive credentials. He even led Royal in 2015 and guided the team to the Playoffs. Smith is the only Player to be retained by Rajasthan Royals in Vivo IPL 2018 in INR 12 Crore. ## "it is great to back at Royals. I was with the franchise a few years back. We had a great time. Thanks for the giving me the honor and privilege of leading the Royals. I am looking forward to having a successful campaign. Looking forward to working with Warne," Smith said. ## Smith has played 69 matches so far and scored 1703 runs with an average of 37.02 with 1 century and 5 half century. ## "We welcome Steve Smith on board.
