It will reach around 450 crores worldwide gross by the end of 6th day. ## Produced by Seven Screen Studio, "Leo" has taken full advantage of the holiday period with the extraordinary collection. The latest LCU blockbuster has minted approximately 255.50 crores gross at the domestic box office while overseas collection stands at approx. 160 crores after the first 5 days. ## "Leo" is also the fastest Tamil movie to top 400 crores worldwide, beating the previous record of 6 days taken by Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar's "2.0". Mumbai, December 31 - It was a great year for the Indian film industry which witnessed 6 films crossing the 400 crores gross mark at the global box office, which happened for the first in Indian cinema in a single year. The total box office collection in India for 2022 films has also crossed the 10,000 crores gross mark. ## The domestic gross box office of 2022 was dominated by Southern Indian films with 12 South Indian films making it to the top 20 highest-grossing Indian films of 2022 list. Yash-fronted "KGF 2" remained the highest-grossing Indian film of the year with approx. 1210 crores gross in all languages, including approx. 1000 crores at the domestic box office. ## The 10,000 crores box office mark for 2022 films in India is set to be breached, thanks to the late strike by James Cameron's mega movie "Avatar 2" which is nearing 400 crores gross in India in all languages. The Jr. NTR and Ram Charan-fronted has so far grossed over 1140 crores at the worldwide box office and is the second highest-grossing Indian movie of the year. ## Hombale Films has been the most profitable production company of 2022 and along with "KGF 2", the studio's Kantara stunned everyone with its phenomenal box office run globally. The Lokesh Kangaraj-directed movie grossed 180.57 crores, and with today's collection, "PS-1" has reached approx. 182 crores in the home state. It is all set to become the first movie ever to enter the 200 crores club. ## Produced by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions, "PS-1" has not only beaten "Vikram" in Tamil Nadu but also overtaken its worldwide lifetime collection (414.43 crores) to become the second biggest Tamil movie of all time, behind only Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar's "2.0" (744 crores). There were a lot of doubts about how the movies will perform at the box office in the post-pandemic era, and now, all the questions have been answered, however, complete normalcy at the box office is yet to be achieved. ## On the brighter side of the picture, 2022 has become the first ever year for the Indian film industry to have five films in the 400 crores at the worldwide box office. This has never happened before in Indian cinema where as many as films scored 400 crores globally. The previous highest 400 crores grossing film count in a single year was 4 which was achieved in 2018. ## SS Rajamouli's global blockbuster RRR was the first to achieve this feat this year in March. The Hindi version of the movie was released by Jayantilal Gada of Pen Studios.## Jayantilal Gada has had success this year with the Hindi version of South Indian films like "RRR", "Vikram", and "Sita Ramam" along with "PS-1", which has so far scored over 16 crores net. Interestingly, there will be the second parts of "Vikram" and "Ponniyin Selvan", and Jayantilal Gada believes that these two films will be huge hits in the Hindi version. ## "Vikram has established the future of this franchise in Hindi belts. Part 2 will be a blockbuster. The same can be said for PS 2 as well. More and more people will watch both Vikram and PS 1 on the OTT world until the sequel arrives.
