Ashutosh Gowarikar Announces A Film Based On Adi Shankaracharya, Titled 'Shankar'
Mumbai, September 22 - Bollywood filmmaker Ashutosh Gowarikar has announced a film based on the life of Indian Vedic scholar and teacher (acharya), Adi Shankaracharya in collaboration with Acharya Shankar Sanskritik Ekta Nyas.
The movie, titled "Shankar" was announced at the unveiling of the monumental 'Statue of Oneness' in Omkareshwar in Madhya Pradesh. The movie will be produced and directed by Gowarikar. The cast and the other details regarding the movie will be announced in due course.

Adi Shankara, also called Adi Shankaracharya, was an 8th-century Indian Vedic scholar and teacher (acharya). His works present a harmonizing reading of the sastras, with liberating knowledge of the self at its core, synthesizing the Advaita Vedanta teachings of his time.
